I've done that. They boot you after 90 days of inactivity.

People apply that same logical fallacy to different things. IE the person driving to the casino might be a really cautious driver. In my experience the lottery ticket buyers believe the stock market is where the real gambling occurs. Since I don't buy lottery tickets I end up in these lottery conversations occasionally. I've realized something though, buying the ticket does provide a tangible. The buyer gets to think about how it would feel to win. How it would change their life. It makes them happy. You can't get that for $1 from anything else.


I don't gamble or do any horse betting. But I did just buy a horse last week to make money on, that might turn out to be a gamble.

Weren't Buffett's early investments high risk? I thought that his current wealth could never be recreated in same time span by following what has become his investment philosophy.
