I wasn't aware of that significant connection. Gilder's LinkedIn page shows his Wave System directorship: https://www.linkedin.com/in/george-gilder-5832b27

I don't recall ever hearing about Gilder. For one thing, I've shunned cutting edge tech stocks which generally make poor investments. I have some shares of Skyworks Solutions but only because it was a spinoff long ago from my long-held Rockwell International.

How much experience did Gilder have with stocks prior to the Dot Com frenzy? Probably none. He was an impecunious writer early on. Experienced investors know that "Shit Happens" even with the best bets. And WAVX was never a good bet due to the caliber of people running it.
