The Short Position in AVXL not likely "EVIL" Cabal. Why because they would be hedged by long call options if they were organized and professional. Likely short positions are held by "honorable" hedge funds "hedging the sector" with long positions with the perceived less risky Big Caps while shorting indiscriminately the High Risk small and micro caps thereby de-risking the "sector bet." Smart. These shorts will be covered as the risk in AVXL decreases. These type funds are designed to preserve wealth , they have high "user" fees and are sensitive to risk above all. They do not try to destroy companies. How do I know this? One only needs to look at the open interest in all the options and compare to the short interest. Very small fraction. Pure shorter's are likely of the little Timmy Sykes or JFinn type followers and are apparently not smart enough to hedge the short with call options.
Who then opposes us as we prepare to take a the Company forward to a new Market Cap that will allow AVXL to obtain favorable non-dilutive financing for PIII and beyond? Those, as XENA says, want in at a price they feel comfortable at. Shaking the retail tree. This company is mostly held by retail. Dr. Missling has so far opposed a secondary and has stated "on the record" that we are seeking a partnership. Apparently, Dr. Missling favors all of you that have brought him to the dance. Remember Skarpelos donated 4 million shares back to the company to get Dr. Missling. Who would feel the bite of dilution the most and to whom does Dr. Missling owe allegiance to?
One would hope and one can reasonably assume that both of these men are starting to realize what this Company MIGHT be able to do for their fellow humans and are more than cognizant of things like DUTY and HONOR, and I hope they are feeling the weight of history and fate, just a little bit, enough to push them forward. The pre-clinical testing of A2-73 was almost fantastic, in murine models. Now they are saying we see positive things in the Human testing which are more positive and UNEXPECTED!!!
Soon the "sector" shorts will cover their shorts and likely go long, the Whales of Buy and Hold will buy, and you my dear friends will be in as they say "on the ground floor."
