walldiver:

We're already here--AND there--and the first few zonk posts arrived today under the ID stacey_ann.

Someone also created caseystar n an which runs into a fair impersonation of caseystarman. To wit: caseystarnan

Waiting to see how iVillage handles the advent of the discussion destroyers. The mere limitation of aliases (now being tested by the miscreants) is a big plus.

Frankly, I need the "rec" feature and miss it when on this board. In conversation you can read reaction in the faces of those to whom you are speaking--and add explanation where it seems necessary. Without that reaction, I am unsure whether there is surprisingly wide agreement--or DISagreement--with that which I am sharing. Knowing makes a difference in how you proceed.

Lastly, knowing WHO recs a given post is an incentive to MEAN what you are conveying by posting a "rec." It also is a measure of who is agreeing and/or disagreeing. I'll admit none of that matters much--but at least you know the recs in iVillage are sincere expressions of support either for the effort OR the content. It's one of several REAL improvements over yahoo. Composing is easier too.

Both these boards are important to all of us IMO.

BTW, if it hasn't been noted, YHOO is trying to regroup by making available the old listing format replete with post numbers and the ability to go back page by page--but when you open a post, you get the new format. Somehow, some have figured out even how to "rec" a few posts, but I think this ability is just an occasional glitch in how their new board works.

Even if they made it just like it once was, I would not want to go back. What we have now with these two boards is much better IMO.

Best to you and all the long-term longs posting here,
