I will disagree to some degree with you on this one.
In the past when LP has spoke or PRed she has been blasted each and every time in concert by all the shorter making evert PR and speech impotent. So why would it be any different this time, assuming as you stated she would have no definitive end of trial/completion results that can't be disputed to announce/report. If something hasn't been working why do it gain, it would be illogical to repeat th mistake again.

In addition there is a valid theory that silence is indeed a show of strength even though in this case it is apparently not an effective approach, however that could prove a wise choice if it is short term and a positive announcement is right round the corner where a huge spike will be expected.
