Upon doing further research on the bottled water industry in airlines I cannot find any specific market numbers.
Based on the number of daily flights from Delta - 5,883 - which is many more times than daily flights from UAE's airlines - Delta would have to sell/give out 200 liters per flight to reach 429 M liters per year.
The news release of Sept 23 implied that nearly 500 M liters of water will be utilized per the Strategic Alliance Agreement. I just don't see a UAE airline being able to meet this level of bottled water.
Delta Air Lines, the world's second largest airline in terms of passengers carried and the leading U.S. carrier across the Atlantic, offers 5,883 flights each day to 447 destinations in 81 countries on Delta, Song, Delta Express, Delta Shuttle, Delta Connection and Delta's worldwide partners. Delta is a founding member of SkyTeam, a global airline alliance that provides customers with extensive worldwide destinations, flights and services. For more information, please go to delta.com.
