May 30, 2006 -- Christopher Byron's article, "Act Now, AMEX" (May 22) is entirely mistaken in saying that I, as part of the private investment firm Rubikon Partners, have a connection to GlobeTel, a company that Byron charges with questionable business and trading practices. I have no connection to GlobeTel or its business, nor is there any business relationship between Rubikon and GlobeTel.
We are not partners, investors, advisers or involved in any way.
GlobeTel has hired Randy Dumas, who is also associated with Rubikon, and that is where the story begins and ends.
Dumas has worked in many places, including Salomon Brothers, but no one would suggest his former employers are now part of, or party to, GlobeTel and its operations.
That same logic should apply when considering Rubikon. Thomas F. McLarty, III President Kissinger McLarty Associates Washington, D.C.
