As I predicted, the "LOAN" was a farce. Worthless papers. Most likely never recorded in any courthouse.

Also likely that the "loners" simply paid minimum expenses to keep the doors openable in the LAB. CEO over in CAL and only the CFO showing up to keep track of stuff, now and then.

Why they even bother to do that is a mystery.
