no gold there to my knowledge--was thinking the imperial mine NW of Kamloops was popular in the 70's and 80's with American fortune seekers looking for gold along the 'Blackwater' creeks,

--every summer there was a huge line up of campers trying to turn left off the main road going north, the cops had to direct traffic
