I was a Special Masters and tried to speak plain and simple, yet this judge uses words most Americans are not accustomed to. He is speaking Greek to most retail investors, big guns get the low down from the lead attorney in a back room probably smoking cigars and drinking brandy.

Clawback can mean many things and I am not certain he meant the definition I presented. I do surmise FnF will be restored and settled out of court for two primary reasons.

1. To remove the uncertainty of the 30 year mortgage. This will allow US housing to recover and the end of the Great Recession.
2. To protect many rich and powerful that were involved. The unethical actions I am aware of could lead these folks to serve prison time and most certainly, at the least, a permanent taint of untrustworthyness to their reputations.

We all know fnf did nothing wrong, we all know banks were found guilty, that is all water under the bridge.
