Israel’s civilian security services are considered a golden goose, says Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute chairman David Arzi, a VP at Israel Aircraft Industries Ltd. (IAI). The industry’s exports will grow 20% in 2005 to $1.2 billion.
A delegation of aviation security managers from 11 countries will visit Israel to promote cooperation in the security of airports, planes, airlines, and border police units.
Arzi said the visit would promote cooperation between Argentina, Australia, Italy, Turkey, the UK, US and other countries. Airport security is expected to expand worldwide, due to guidelines from international agencies fighting terrorism and crime. The delegation will meet representative of companies with proprietary technologies in the field, and will visit installations with complex security systems, such as Ben Gurion Airport’s Terminal 3, the Ashdod Port, the Knesset, Eilat Port, and Taba border crossing into Sinai.
The Export Institute foresees more visits by foreign security delegations during 2006. Delegations from Mexico, Brazil, Russia, China, and US have already been scheduled. Delegations of Israeli companies will attend exhibitions in Singapore, Russia, the US and China.
