2015 NMU McNair Scholar ~ Shoup – My research consists of developing a method to rapidly identify Staphylococcus aureus. S. aureus infections cause skin infections, UTIs, meningitis, toxic shock syndrome, amongst others. Current testing methods require a minimum of 24 hours.
