I love teaching people new tricks. No my buddy does it all the time because stocks are 99% algorithm computers and they can and do tighten the spreads if you call in. Anyone can do it and should for stocks that have greater than 100% spread.

So i have heard you can request a tighter bid ask at brokerages with penny stock if you call in. My buddy does itball the time with thinly traded stocks where spreads are 0.05 and 0.12 for example you can get a tighter bid/ask changed to 0.05/0.08 for example but they xharge like $10 more for the trade but if you can shave off 30% cost its worth it.
