Hey friends. Happy flippin' New Year!
Of the many discussions I've followed over the years this was by far my favorite. Now I find myself dissatisfied (understatement) that it ended badly. I miss reading what everyone had to say both for and against CDNL––it was dynamic and often delightfully entertaining.
Although my financial losses were real and painful, not massive thankfully, the actual regret for me is that the lessons garnered have nothing to do with how a good company failed in a competitive environment, or something like that. The lessons, in fact, have to do with dishonorable conduct. We discovered as children that some adults who appear capable and say they will do things are in fact incompetent, lying or both. I have come to the conclusion that Kevin Jones firstly was legitimate, then incompetent and then untruthful about being incompetent. If Kevin Jones really owned any shares of the now delisted CDNL, the most charitable thing I can say is that he made a huge error. Without fraud, how could the CEO have benefitted as a stakeholder by allowing the company to become delisted? And if the expense of an audit or filing was too much for the company wouldn't any form of bankruptcy protection or financial offering been preferable months before the hard deadline in order to get it done? What kind of CEO doesn't give a rat's ass about filing with the SEC? Yet if it was all fraud then why not keep it going? I wish we knew what happened with Kevin Jones. It's very suspicious and his website is still up... (I called and left a vm on his phone 412 374 0989)
Many people sounded the alarm with a warning that Kevin was not doing what he said he was doing, and to those people I say thank you. Finally, I want to say thanks to the moderators for keeping it civil. It was quite a ride. I miss you all! GLTA or GTFO!
