interesting catch. Seems strange Microsoft is using this case to springboard its own. Why would you use a case that had no merit or positive outcome?

SAN FRANCISCO – A business has filed suit against a competitor for alleged patent infringement pertaining to its sensor-based products that include security systems and cameras.
The case was filed in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, San Francisco Division, on Sept. 12 by e.Digital Corp. against Netgear Inc., doing business as Arlo.
The patent infringement involves the defendant’s sensor-based products, including Arlo HD Security Systems, Arlo Wire-Free Security Systems, Arlo HD Cameras, Arlo Q Plus HD Cameras, Netgear’s computer and mobile application and their cloud-based services for remote monitoring and communication. Netgear claims these products violate four patents issued to e.Digital.
The plaintiff claims the defendant had knowledge of the patent infringement, intentionally sells the products that infringe on the patents in the United States and actively encourages others to infringe upon the patents.
The plaintiff is seeking compensation for all damages caused by the infringement, attorney’s fees, pre-and post-judgment interest, and any relief the court deems proper. It is represented by Gabriel G. Hedrick, Lauren G. Kane and Anton N. Handal of Handal & Associates in San Francisco.

Netgear huh.
Cisco well?
Cisco Executive Chairman John Chambers said, "We are going through the greatest technology and business transition ever-the Digital Era-which will dwarf the Information Era and the value of the Internet to date. Any company that fails to reinvent itself by harnessing digital technology will soon be left behind. Barrick has long been known for its focus on innovation, and with Cisco's advanced technologies and strategic network of partners, we can extend the frontiers of the natural resources industry."

FYI
CSCO and this 4G VS 5G very old tech. IOT seems like a rabbit in a hat who or what will it really be.
I say this because of what CSCO and ATT did in 2012. CSCO said at that time the net was looking at a shut down of things. lol. because too much data was going over the net.
ATT tested CSCO new router and it worked great. 10,000x faster than 4g. ATT wanted to use it but as always the lawsuits started with sat tv leading the way. ATT wanted to put 300 HDTV channels over wireless. Plus everything of things.
This tech. is out their and what we are being told is a string along tech. what is happening imo is security is the biggest obstacle we have. you are on a good track when you look hard at what CSCO is doing. imo
I wonder if anyone knows or remembers who the engineer was that left Edig in 2000 and became a Google VP?
Google bought nest as their 2nd Highest and most highly rated patents for them at this time. Since Motorola was sold to Lenevo and they kept their patents.
Now Google is big into self driving car technology. I have a hard time seeing a completely self driving car. But the sensors technology is very real. Whether on your cell phone keeping your car from an accident or swarming military machines. Drones many companies are trying to make safe. Just how do they do that Amazon?
Dropcams, theromstats? very interesting heat. Wheres the money? who has the most money for Technology we will be kept from? Google knows. We see IMO tech huh?
On January 14, 2014, Google acquired Nest Labs for US$3.2 billion and left Nest Labs to use its own brand.[4][5] Nest Labs continues to grow quickly with more than 460 employees in mid-2014.
On June 20, 2014, it was announced that Google's Nest Labs bought Dropcam for $555 million USD.
Their is very little on Edig's website what they have done. Who they are working with. Do you remember the senior Engineer and who he became a VP Of? Or the Future of the internet that was presented at CES years ago as the main Speaker? Or the Translator software?
