Please, elaborate on your phone call with Mark. How does he feel? Is he surprised?
Scandium: NB uses 3500 USD per kg, while SCY uses 2000 USD in their PEA. Is this realistic?

I agree, but the CAPEX of 919 million is enourmous. Only 2/3 is debt financing, what does this mean for us shareholders? Glad to see the share price is stabelised.
Hi Wagner, Abandoning expansion of Niobec is good news for NB. Maybe some new off-take agreements and an increase in the production scenario, 12.500 tonnes instead of 7.500 tonnes.
Some food for thought.
I got the personal notes of someone who attended the investors meeting held in Belgium march 2015.
The intention there was to produce 30 tons of scandium per annum. Much more than the 12.8 found in the PEA highlights. Now how could this be?
This might have something to do with the scandium recovery rate. IMO they've found a way to get a high(er) recovery rate, but it isn't robust enough yet. More testing - on a larger scale - needs to be done, etc., before it can enter the PEA (which is a formal document).
This could explain Marks enthousiams during the inteviews, and the sudden delays as a result of rejection in some sort of formal procedure.
Walter, what are your thoughts on this?
Blaiman, good to have you back on board
Well said, Landmark
He's getting greedy. I hope he would refrain from posting on this board until after the PEA comes out.
Nice post rubberworm. Niobium has a bright future.
Thanks Walter for your update. Good to find consistency in Niocorp's communications.
Thanks, nice read!
Good points AlwaysOptimistic and Jovko. Most of us on the board are no day traders. Therefore the project's value in the PEA is all that matters. Only with the PEA in hand we can have meaningful discussions about the future share price. In the mean time, maybe it is better to leave this subject...
Mark is the 'under promise over deliver' type of guy. Although conservative, the PEA will still WOW everybody. Good luck!
Nice read Blairman.
I think Mark deserves a little more credibility here. Up until now, everything he has done, has benefited Niocorp and its shareholders. Just relax and watch how things unfold.
Hi Duke, if you want the real deal, the Netherlands is the place to be for Heine's. LOL. But I'm not sure if the same is true for the weather and food...
The PEA has the NPV (as well as the CAPEX and OPEX)
That would be bad news for Heineken stock holders!! LOL
Landmark, no offence
Thanks Masslanding. Frankly, I was just teasing Landmark with the word 'genuine' Heineken, because I know he loves the stuff.
So Landmark, any comments
This is a monumental day for Niocorp and its investors. We've been waiting for a SP above 1 CAD for so long. Thanks to Mark, Peter and their team.
Cheers, drinking a genuine Heineken
I'm getting addicted to this kind of good news
I agree. We have just one production process, and we have to optimize supply/demand on two completely different markets, niobium and scandium. This is quite a challenge given the fact that the demand for scandium is almost 'unlimited'.
Hi Landmark, I can see why people ask this question. Why only 7.500.000 kg?
With drilling completed, we now have the 2nd largest Niobium deposit in the world. Companies are still looking for diversity in supply. Could it be that niobium production targets will be increased?
I think this is tempting, knowing that more Niobium production also means more Scandium (as a by-product?). Supply for scandium is still underdeveloped but demand is in abundance. Why should the production target for niobium be the bottle-neck in our profit model. Do you see what I mean? Anyway, the PEA will probably give all the answers.
Allways nice to read your posts.
And enough cash in the bank for the next 18 months. So no more placements anymore.
Nice link Inversor.
Picked up some more shares today. I hope we're on the TSX before the PEA comes out.
NB on the radar of the Chinese!?
Niocorp is mentioned in a Jack Lifton article.

Hi Walterc,
This new metal aims to be a substitute for titanium. Further, titanium is very expensive. Even at one tenth of that price this is stil an expensive metal. In practical applications it's all about 'fit for the job'. If there is a cheaper niobium based alternative available, than this is the one they'll continue to use.
Hi Blairman, good thinking!! I will grab another 5k
Hi Blairman, I grabbed another 7k at 0.80 today
Hi Landmark, i thought about this too. The outcome also depends on the currency foreign countries agreed to pay CBMM. Since the niobium price is so stable it could well be that they pay in USD. That being the case we have no disadvantage over CBMM
Niobium worth $ 36,4 billion
I was listening back to the interview with Scott Honan, see post 4012.
http://www.kfor1240.com/The-Coby-Mach-Show/17550824
Somewhere he mentions 650 million kg niobium at a price of $40 per kg. Multiplied and you get the familiar $ 26 billion. Based on further maths he comes with a value of $ 2 billion for Elk Creek. Now it isn’t clear how this is done, but I assume Scott talks about the NPV, or similar (they probably have the whole thing modelled in Excel).
Our current updated estimate is 910 million kg (= 177 + 733). This is 40% more Niobium, therefore the 26 billion becomes 36,4 billion. Can anyone guess what this means for the NPV? 2,8 billion?
Yeah, I noticed this too. Few days ago the CAD against the EUR was 0,710 now it is 0,693. Does anyone know what's going on here?
With all this said and done, right now the PS is going north, as it should.
276 m interval at 0.95% Nb2O5 (open at depth)
Mark Smith: "The final Phase II drilling results continue to be extremely encouraging and supportive of our project," said Mark Smith, CEO of NioCorp. "I could not be more pleased with the overall high-grade assay results that have been delivered from both our Phase I and Phase II drilling program at our Elk Creek deposit," continued Smith. "Third Phase drilling will be completed by mid-December 2014, and we are anxiously awaiting the upcoming analytical results."
News out! Phase 2 drilling results.
10 m over 2%. Great!!
Yes, Heineken tastes great!!
The project is heading in the right direction. Phase 2 will move tonnes inferred to the indicated categorie, as projected. A higher share price will follow eventually...
It is something that takes time to complete and is price sensitive. Very exited!!
Good point! We'll just wait and see what news they release towmorrow. I'm confident it will be positive.
