Focus on the market cap instead. CLNE is valued at 400M. That is so cheap for a growing company turning the corner. They need money to keep up with demand, if they really wanted to turn a profit they could immediately and stop growing.
Timing: he is 88 years old.
Maybe has cancer or something that we have no business knowing. It's not like CLNE just spiked and he sold out. And he only sold a marginal fraction of shares.
So stay calm and realize it's no big deal.
You have to have a career in estate planning (I am a CFP) to understand the reasoning behind Boone selling (some shares of) CLNE.
At death - all stocks that Boone owns will receive an automatic step up in basis based on the price at the date of his death.
So if he owns 1M shares of Walmart at $5- when he dies his heirs will receive a new cost basis at the current market price.
Boones cost average of CLNE is around $8 based on a blended purchases over time. If he holds these shares through death, there is no benefit to his heirs because there is no step up. But if he sells now, he can collect the immediate tax loss to pass more on to heirs.
If this guy wasn't so old I'd say he's cashing out. But he's a billionaire and his stake in CLNE is just very small in his net worth so he's doing what's smart to prevent the money from going to Uncle Sam.
Boone is doing estate planning and taking losses saves him big money. Need need to hold an asset with a loss through death. He's a billionaire and selling a few million dollars worth is nothing but strategic planing.
Long CLNE.
Solid news out today. California alone is going to make CLNE profitable.
So far the market doesn't believe trump will help the clean energy movement.
We shall see.
He paid an average price of $3.42 for the shares.
CEO just bought another 29,000 shares with his own money. He's putting his money where his mouth is.
Long CLNE.
Market does not see the big picture. Redeem is going to triple in the next few years
Looks good!! 2017 will be a great year.
Buying opportunity?
Pack,
I added 600 more shares today at $3.98. Hope to have caught the bottom!
PSA looking good for a dicy growth stock
And cashed out. 25% gain in 6 weeks. What a high flyer!
Took a position in THRM today. Anyone else in this on the board? Surprised to see it at 52 week lows
Is Ndls preparing to go belly up? I eat here every time I find one. Not many in the northeast tho
Good buys down at these levels.
Even with dilution we have a market cap of about 600M. It has a lot of room to grow considering their assets and sales.
New accepted offer is $130. Yet it stays at $107.50. Strange.
Just curious can you short this?
Boone is now 88. I'm sure he's just doing some estate planning.
I have found that when control persons buy/sell, it normally has little forecast on the stock price. It tends to only affect the stock for a day or two.
CLNE is going up!!
CLNE is finally rolling. Wow it's been a long time coming. The news out today looks great! At least 10% gallon growth next year with these new contracts.
Still only a 500M market cap, lots of room to grow.
These look to be attractive levels down here.
Pumped all my CLNE shares are chilling in the Roth. Nothing like tax-free mad gains :)
CLNE should run to $6 here soon. The short squeeze is on.
If it runs up to $8, which I find very possible.. I'll probably buy some puts. Even is a consumer groupon goods are very closely priced to Amazon.. But Amazon ships free and in 2 days.
Local deals are all I use groupon for now-- which I love -- but it's only about 30% of their business.
The stock looks "back on track" but the fundamentals suggest this company is still not profitable. I don't know many 3B+ market cap companies that haven't turned a profit yet.
:( tough day.
News out today is amazing. CLNE is going to $4 this week and a lot higher!!
Back to .70c?
Great quarter and I'm so glad I loaded back in at $3.01 last week.
Boo ya!!!
My software says EFOI reports tomorrow morning. Can anyone confirm that?
Stock was downgraded but remains "a top long term pick". Smells opportunity
We will see, buddy.
They have turned the corner with positive Ebitda and the debt is becoming less of an issue. Dilution is needed for growth; this is a 330M market cap, of coarse there are risks.
Back in CLNE sign 800 shares@$3. Good luck to the Longs on the board
Picked up 50 shares @$38.50. Overreaction!
$40-$41 looks to be a good re entry point.
I'm trying to pick up a few thousand at .70 tomorrow. You think it hits?
I feel like Constellation Brands would be a good match for a ROX acquisition. A buyout would probably be around $2
