Some Sunday night thoughts about the JP Morgan and other bank settlements:

(1) Do you think these banks would be settling up with FNMA if there was a chance of them being dissolved? Absolutely not. They are actually proactive in their actions to settle up and put these lawsuits behind them. Wouldn't it make more sense for them to wait this out, drag their feet, and hope FNMA disappears. Of course it would, that's why I believe that they are well aware that there is very little chance of FNMA going away!

(2)And this is just me being alittle selfish...I'm in no hurry to settle these lawsuits, and I believe any settlement announcement will not move the PPS very much. Its built into the price already.

I would rather wait til after FNMA has squared up with the govt, wins the lawsuits, gets released from c-ship, gets uplisted to settle these lawsuits. That way, the money is all ours, the shareholders. Can you imagine a settlement announcement followed by a PR that those monies will be passed onto the shareholders via a special dividend of say $2.00 a share.

Remember, FNMA is suing these banks. Not the U.S. Govt

A quick glance at the weekly chart, and it shows a very bullish flag has formed. The flag formation shows higher lows banging up to $1.63- $1.64. I predict once we break $1.65 we make the next leg up.

I see $1.77- $1.78 as the first resistance. We have bumped up and pulled back from there three times. This flag could get us through that, for its not even a 10% increase off the $1.65 PPS.

Although I have read of resistance of $1.89, I do not see that. It must go way back. I see the $2.00 level as the next stop, and possible pullback/consolidation.

I have posted here before that this battle will be waged between $1.00 and $2.00. The shorts will push back hard at $2.00 because once it breaks $2.00 the horse is out of the barn, and it becomes more expensive to manipulate.

No, this news was definitely not created overnight. My guess is that the recent move from $1.03 to $1.53 (50%) was on a leak of this news. Possibly the lease signing....IDK. That didn't just happen today, did it? Form a new LLC, find a building, sign a lease...nope!

Remember, retail (us longs) will always be the last to know. Someone processed the paperwork to establish the LLC. A realtor was contacted to help find a building and sign the lease, etc

Nope, the shorts will use the headline, "US regulator names firm that could replace Fannie, Freddie" and emphasize the word replace. That should get some to panic sell. Today's close was proof of what the word "replace" can do to FnF's share price.

Not to sound sarcastic, but if we end tomorrow at $1.60s, then that is good for the commons. Long term, this is the beginning of the "new" FnF. That too can only be good for us longs.

Here's how I see it....

The govt wants an entity, other then taxpayers monies, to back the risk FnF assume when they purchase mortgages. The govt also wants FnF to pay for this. This is important because basically what that says is the govt wants FnF to "purchase insurance" other then taxpayers monies in the event of another housing/mortgage fiasco.

Why is this important?...If FnF are funding this, they will still be in business. The only thing that will change is now, the govt (taxpayers)will not be the ultimate backstop. CSS will be that backstop and FnF will fund it(buying additional insurance)

The selloff late today was a knee jerk response to the story leaking out. Shorts will use this story and push down to force panic sells. Down the first hour, from there I say we go up, closing above $1.60...

This is the start of the new FnF. It is not their end!

I am following that chart pattern very closely myself. It is almost exactly the chart pattern prior to the big run in May. If it does continue to mimic the May pattern, we could see $3.20ish by the end of next week. That would be a double from the Oct 3 high of $1.64.

Obviously, picking a double in a week is very optimistic. I do not expect it to happen, but if the charts are lining up just like they were in May, it very well could be a nice week.

I really liked the trading on Friday. It could have sold off and closed around $1.36. That would have set up further decline next week. Instead, FNMA came back from a morning sell off and consolidated nicely.

Its news to me! And I am more confident in my position now, more than ever. It is nice to know that 111mil shares are locked up in an institutional investor who's turn around is very low. This decreases the float considerably.

With a decreased float and 111mil shares in friendly hands, good news will cause the PPS to soar due to the greater demand for less shares. Having 111mil shares locked up is a nightmare for shorts who will be forced to cover.

The market never takes a day and a half to react to anything, you should know that. This appears to me like a leak in the last half hour. Will wait for tomorrows action for confirmation.

Its a shame that FNMA doesn't trade AH. It would be very interesting. Then again that fact could go in our favor, price cannot be manipulated on the low liquidity. At 9:30 we shall see.

I too thought INO would pull back to $1.40, I was wrong, hope the board doesn't stone me. The overall market showed weekness two weeks ago, and I was impressed how well INO held up. When it started this new upturn, I got in at $1.92.

IMO something is cooking here. The rest of today and next week shall be interesting.
