When I was in the Army I went to places people did not want to go. I stayed extra years there 'cause I liked it. People would literally get angry. Why do you want to stay here? I didn't do much as an Army feller 1973-1993. I did volunteer to go to Iraq, they got me ready and then said they did not need me after all. It makes me feel good to think I would have gone to Vietnam also.

One month into basic training I was walking past a car and saw a bird on the front of it. I saluted, and the Captain called me over. He said son why did you salute, and what rank am I. I said you are a Navy Captain, an 0-6, and you also have a bird on the front of your car,

He told me very good son. I still wonder what was the point, but I think it was 'cause I looked like I was 13 years old.

I went to P.L.D.C. in Bad Tolz Germany. The last test before we graduated was to take the class on a few minute D and C exercise, just to show that you could do all the commands correctly.
I was chosen first. We were standing on a pad of cement. I marched those fellers 100 feet off the pad, way out on the grass, and performed all the drill commands. I felt really happy, and relieved that I had not made any mistakes.
Big Sarge stared at me and asked why I had just marched them fellers way off the cement. I told him correctly that I was a Metrology soldier, had no idea how to march, had not done it since basic training, and besides he had not told me anything except to do all the facing, and marching commands.
The Captain was there, and asked him if this was true. He said yes, so the Captain said then give him a pass!

A lot of those acronyms get changed over the years.

I heard Standard Operating Procedure being said, but I believe it is Standing Operating Procedure.

I downloaded a Disposition Form for old times sake when I went to Egypt, and put my wifes name as Commander on the signature block.

Hang in there. It does not make sense to sell or really change anything now. You will come out ok. It will however take a little longer than people are prepared to wait.

There are certain groups of fellers who have an unfair advantage here as far as information/events availability. They are allowed to get in/out before a common feller knows what is happening.

Now you go down to your local Cadillac dealer and buy 14 new cars in five years, and they will also treat you favorably.

That would be my fantasy. We get bought by JPM, we go to 50 dollars, rumors of "earnings way down" report to come out soon, I dump 5 million dollars of JPM stock premarket, and finally personally P.O. Jamie.
I know I know that 5 million by it's self would not do much, but hey it's fun to dream.

1. The "Govt." got a bright idea to get everyone into home ownership, give loans to people who had no business buying a home.
The economy soared.

2. Mortgage lenders who disagreed were labeled as greedy, and uncaring. They were forced to make the loans.

3. People who had no business getting a loan defaulted, the economy collapsed, Govt. blamed the greedy banks publicly, and privately they assured the banks they would make everything right.

4. Govt. came out as the savior's of the "little man", when in actuality Govt. was the cause of the problem to begin with.

5. The banks came out looking a little bad but secretly way better off financially.

6. Dine, and many nice fellers get rich? In Jersey's case MORE RICH? That's what I am hoping for :) ;)

I sold my PQ's, KQ's, and common and bought wmih. I just did not want to be part of the theft in any way.

My wife said it was a very stupid move.
