TF: my post yesterday about the lending of shares referred to unsollicitated lending by the broker of shs held in a margin account, not the kind of sollicitated or voluntary lending that you alluded to . You can of course always agree to lend out shares that you have bought with your own cash (say in a cash account) for a fee. What I meant was whether the broker has a right to automatically lend out your shs of a stock that is not marginable like Siaf held in a margin account that you bought from your cash balance (not from the marginable balance) and thus 100% own. I donot think he does without asking for your permission but I haven't read the fine print of the margin account agreement.
Who would have thought so? A few weeks ago from what was reported here it just seemed the contrary ...
Am wondering if the broker can lend out shares of a Stock that is not marginable like Siaf even if it is a margin account ?
Yup that's a Market Cap of 376B, #2 largest US stock and ANY's strategic partner.
Hahaha how much did you ask for your fiancé ? Is it legal in Sweden (to sell something you donot own yet)?
No way I am used to seeing blood... It flashes a buy signal to me lol.
and the Nov 2.5 calls heading for $4? Not bad but more to come imo...
hugging MA50 support again...next resistance 15.29?

Just received a response from ETrade re. F share divi payment:
"As of now E*Trade Financial has not received any allocations for the SINO ARGO FOOD INC NON CONV PREFERRED SERIES F RESTRICTED dividend. I will follow up with our Corporate Actions group and see if there is an ETA. Thank you again and have a good day."
Good question. I pay the rent for my businesses which is due the first of a month always around the 5th or 6th and know that the check will not debit from my accounts until about 10th. So far (about 15 years) haven't got any complaint yet from the landlords. Why make a fuzz for a few days late payment? Main thing the rent is paid hehe...
Yup good idea.
you are probably right. The PR headline says:
Sphere 3D and Novarad Enter Into Master Purchase Agreement to Deliver Virtualization Capabilities to 400 Healthcare Facilities
moving toward support at 13.75? just added some at 14-.
Hey Mauiguy: glad to see you here at the ANY board and on my other two big stocks as well. If you bought in here in March you sure have a much better cost basis than me since I bought my first ANY shs in August last year when the pps was in the 7ish but have continually averaged down since. Each of these three stocks is indeed very unique and can easily be by itself the opportunity of a life time imo. I just figured even if one of them fails I still have two nice little cushions to fall on lol. Go ANY!
Or have NJM send you a JibJab pic of dancing Solly instead of the shrimps!
Allow me to throw out some wild ideas... By the time the party takes place Siaf may have another name and the old name may be a distant memory for us oldies... So with that in mind I sugggest putting the new name whatever it is as an arch on top of front side. The middle of the arch could be a sphere like a soccer ball with "SIAF" as top line, middle is $100 and bottom line is "CLUB" in different colors. The sphere is symbolic of the earth bc of Siaf's sector and also of some thing ever evolving reaching new highs and troughs like its pps .... IOW a very special design that we all can proudly wear and show off to our grand children and great grandchildren many years after hehe... I donot care if it costs $50 or $100 a shirt....
Very nice. We could use a nice pic too that makes us look cool and conveys an idea what Siaf is about... Hehe
tbh I feel old wearing a T shirt that says "SIAF $100 Retirement Plan" lol. But I would wear sth like:
SIAF $100 CLUB
you are possibly right although Azure is much more than GW+SC I am afraid. But look at who else we are up against in that group:
Acronis, Amazon S3, Barracuda Networks, Cleversafe, Code 42, EMC, Evault, iomart, Microsoft Azure, Pulsant, Proact, Six Degree Group, Sphere 3D, Suse, Veritas, VMware, Vodafone.
some of the awards you have highlighted seem pretty prestigious to me. Can't wait to see how S3D matches up with others, in particular:
Cloud Enabler of the year
Acronis, Amazon S3, Barracuda Networks, Cleversafe, Code 42, EMC, Evault, iomart, Microsoft Azure, Pulsant, Proact, Six Degree Group, Sphere 3D, Suse, Veritas, VMware, Vodafone.
Storage Virtualisation Product of the Year
DataCore - SANsymphony-V, Dell - Compellent Storage Center, Dot Hill - RealStor 2.0, FalconStor - FreeStor, IBM - Storwize, Imation - Nexsan NST Series, Maxta - MxSP, Nexenta - Nexentastor, Oracle - Oracle VM, PernixData - FVP, Sphere 3D - Glassware Application Virtualisation, Tintri - T800, VMware - vSphere Storage Appliance (VSA)
Storage Innovators Award
Arcserve, Cleversafe, Dot Hill, Infortrend, NetApp, OCZ, Oracle, QLogic, Quantum, Samsung, SanDisk, Seagate, Sphere 3D, Suse, Tegile, Tintri, Veritas, WD.
I have no idea on how the pps would behave ST. We have so many verticals besides MS all with different time frames each contributing $$$ rev possibly over next several quarters. But in a year or so the market will know how to price them all in via P/S. My guess is P/S of 10-15 depending how disruptive the market think the technology is/will be. It's too early in the monetization cycle to know how it will fare imo.
wow are you going all in?
That's exactly why Emerging companies are mostly priced based on the growth potential of their revenues, not on real earnings potential. For example Tesla has almost no real earnings but command a very high share price or MC based on a P/S of 10 or so. So did VMW before it was acquired by EMC. I guess in the next 3-4 quarters every thing in the pipeline will be baked into ANY's share price via its P/S. So there is no much pop left for a buyout offer beyond a premium of say 30-60% max barring a fully blown bidding war. JMO
SE or anyone else: do you know of any buyout of a listed company in tech in the past that had a premium of 100% or higher to share price ? I tend to think the share price of a highly successful b/o candidate already includes a pretty hefty p/s (typically 10-14) so there is not much room left for another premium of 100% to pps on top of that. Would love to be proven wrong.
Thanks for a great find!
Yes a first year yield of 2-3% would be cool, if they can afford it. Even 1% yield is fine with me as long as the payout ramps up nicely within a few years. As far as divi goes waos has no bearing. It's just the # of reg shares ( incl Prefs B) on record date that counts. So o/s plus 7M Prefs B shs in essence imo.
NJM: We do know what the o/s and eps will be approximately for 2015.
Estimate: based on your $4M mid range divi payout, the divi will be about:
4/20 = $0.20 per share
0.20/7 = 2.8% of eps approx.
What is harder to guess is the pps at EOY. For simplicity if pps= $20 the yield would be 1%. But if it is $30 (??) then yield is 0.7%. Roughly speaking.
I thought about that but figured that you would know better lol...
very nice indeed. Do you still hold AOI? I fortunately got out about 2 years ago...
To all our swedish friends: Happy June 6! To me Sweden is a very small country with very big achievements. Congrats.
No one can predict the future. But my WAG is: FN before the summer (ie. late June to early July), OMX before Xmas. FD and Bertil will make dann sure that happens IMO. Proven winners like them donot take promises lightly. And they both understand what is at stakes here.
As for the pps be glad it is consolidating. The spring needs to recoil. Relax and add whenever possible. AMO
pretty quick turnaround at OSE.
It usually takes about eight weeks from filing an application to list shares in a company on the Oslo bourse until start of trading in them,
another reason for government to beef up their cloud and data storage with non-hackable SnapCloud products by ANY via Azure soon !!!
I really donot know without doing a serious survey. But I would guess maybe 5% of o/s in average to make it worth it. Buybacks usually last several months, sometimes even a year or two as companies are allowed to only buy back a small % of average daily trading volume.
seriously? Did you just downgrade it?
who knows if another John Morelli or company will not show up with another disruptive technology in the next 2 years that may put S3D in jeopardy? One thing I know: I will be 2 years older in 2 years...
