It's still in business but is facing some headwinds with the low price of oil. Finances are tight also, but their expenses are low. I think they can make it....Cvet
Has anyone called the company of late? I'm off for a two week trip down south. I think we should find out from Terry what the current plans are. Last I spoke to him they had enough cash to last through the spring but needed cash to do additional drilling. If they will be able to stay afloat, we are definately in a buying range for strata. Stay well and hang in there! Cvet
The land clearly has value and one day will definately will be worth a lot of money. The question is if Strata has the funding to stay in business till that takes place. I'm all in but am not fooling myself that with the price of oil at 40-45 a barrell, the motivation is less to dig the sands and may not be cost effective at this price...Happy Holiday's to all Cvet
Since they need to raise cash in an environment that cash is scarce, and with oil dropping the way it is, and thus no motivation to go into the sands to get oil out, I have concerns near term. The oil in the sands will be worth something at some time, but the cycle is against us near term. It may take a couple years for oil prices to ramp up again. I am still in but have accepted the reality that this will not only take time, but the company is dependant on raising cash to survive. Cvet
Sorry for your loss. It does require patience near term. Hope your next trade works a little better! Cvet
Personally I am waiting for it to stabilize here and then plan to personally reload and work towards doubling my already large position. The stock price is a gift at these levels and a great place to either take a begining position or average down. Nothing has changed in terms of the fundementals. If anything we are days from an announcement of the new drilling that has been taking place the last few months. Remember what happened last time they reported strong news? Cvet
I spoke to Terry today. He thinks it mostly is manipulation by the shorters and MM's. Some is the price of oil coming down like it has, but his main positive is he is confident there are very good days ahead. That we need to get through this stretch, but once we do, we will either be able to get the oil out of the ground or sell it to a major. I tend to believe him, at least that he does believe that. My guess is it may be a couple months till we get any good news, but in a whisker, the price can be up to a buck with anything promising. I am planning to hang in there and then likely add to my position in six weeks from now. Cvet
This is getting too painful to watch!! Any word from Strata?? Cvet
Btw, There was a good discussion on Bloomberg this afternoon. They discussed the reasons oil prices are declining and referred several times to the oil source coming from shale and the Canadian oil sands. As though Oil is anticipating this new source coming on line. I do wish Strata was better at marketing itself and letting the public know the potential in their property. Cvet
Did you get through to them today? Cvet
Good job. Call on and off all day if that's what it takes. Have 3 or 4 good questions to be answered. That can help you when he picks up. Ask him when news should come out. Ask him what strategy they have to move the stock price to where it should be. Ask if they can really get the oil out of the ground. How is the testing going on the other areas. I'm sure you have a few questions of your own. If each of us take the time to ask the right questions, we can eventually get the results we are hoping for. Good luck. Looking forward to hearing what you find out. Thanks for doing it. Cvet
I agree with you but we need others to make a call or two to investor relations and ask them about it. I do think that this guy Geofry will likely not sit on his hands for a long time. He has a vested interest in seeing the stock move northward. Oil has dropped about forty a barrel from its high and Strata has only come down about twenty cents. Once it stabilizes, I likely will start accumulating again before year end. Cvet
I thought he bought all of his at $1.00 when the stock was trading around 1.12. The hope of Strata was the stock would be trading up around there and give those who invested the hundred thousand a discount to like where our Indian friends invested. Unfortunately 'market conditions' have changed what they can do. Fortunately they raised enough from our Indian friends to stay afloat till market conditions change. I do think the price is a bargain here. Cvet
If the price remains around here or lower in the next few weeks, I personally am likely to start buying again. I know the price is a lot lower than where Strata hoped it would be and these are cut rate prices which they won't do an offering at. If the prices are too good for them to do an offering, they are in a range we should be picking them up. I do think we may be three months from good news, so I am likely to wait to see if the price will settle more. All Fyi, Cvet
I had a good talk with IR yesterday. Reading between the lines a little, here is what I concluded. 1). They are dissapointed where the stock price is. 2). Because of where the stock is trading, it will be difficult to do the proposed raise. 3). They are not concerned because a). They have the 1.7 million they raised in January and b). because a lot of good things are happening behind the scenes which will promote the stock price over time. 4). They are a bit dissapointed with the overall market and feel that comes into play in how Strata is trading. 5). Says venture capital is difficult to come by from traditional means of raising funds. 6). Says news will not come out for a couple months. I questioned him on that and he explained that people often get upset if he says something is around the corner and it doesn't happen right away. He says we will hear within one day of him hearing. Thus I conclude he is waiting for results on the other property.
I am content holding. I think the biggest issues is if the company can stay afloat, which is looks like they can easily do for another year or so, and if they can get the oil out of the ground, which it looks like the technology is in use now to do so. Cvet
We are getting closer to news. I am sure we will hear something of significance before this year is out. They have been working on exploring etc and results should be very close. I am holding until we hear more. Also the raise should be somewhat underway. If we have positive interest, that too will be a big statement. Cvet
Thanks my friend. I have no real choice because I actually own a boatload. If I tried to get out, it would have to be about 10% or lower from here where I could. Besides that, I know in a brief day or two, the stock can be trading up double from here, so it is unwise to get out of it because it has sunk on low volume. Thanks for your input. Cvet
Today's 'action' was somewhat encouraging. The volume was up a bit, the bid was somewhat firming as the day went on and we were the only green stock on my screen today. As we move towards September, often we have had releases around this time frame. Here is hoping this year is no differant. I do think the quietness on the boards is a good sign. Likely the little guy is almost done handing his shares to the big boys. When every small guy is gone, we will see a rally. Good luck all, Cvet
It's sad to me that the company is doing nothing to generate enthusiasm for Strata shareholders. No talk on the boards as they give us nothing to be excited about. I am in bed with them for the long term but the process is not enjoyable. I feel badly for the little guy who is slowly selling into this 'quiet period' imposed for no reason by the company. Have a good weekend despite Strata ....Cvet
I haven't gotten through and haven't tried. I personally made my bed with them and am laying in it. For better or worse, I'm waiting for them to either poop or get off the pot. I don't plan to invest further and plan to wait with my huge position and either have great success or lose it all. It is what it is. I do remain hopeful but time will tell. Not a good time to be trying to raise cash....If they do, that will be a huge boost to the company. We will see. Cvet
Have you laid this out to Terry yet? If so, what is his response. Short term he and strata do not seem to care about the day to day price (he has said so to me every time I call). I think they care some because the last time I called, he told me the price was .95 that day (3 weeks ago). But I do think they think the most important thing is getting their ducks in a row and the price will take care of itself. I agree with you that they could get the price up by being more vocal but it still may be short city once they put out those pr's and it will again take time between releases as drilling takes time with low funds. I think the main short term drain on the stock price is the need to raise money. It is seen as a negative that they are financially strapped and are not making any money at all. They have some promise but they also are vulnerable as an entity since they have no cash. I haven't sold a share and also am trying to remain patient....Cvet
Is anyone on this board planning to participate in the offering Strata has put out there. I read through all the materials and think I will not at this point. If anyone else read the materials and have thoughts on it, please feel free to share them. If they do have a successful offering, I do think that will bode well for the stock in that it will show solid interest and confidence in the future of Strata and their ability to either get the oil out or that they will be able to sell it to a major. Any thoughts are welcome. Cvet
Thank you my freind for posting for me while absent. I got home safely last night and my internal clock is still on African time thus why up at an odd time. Also am swamped with work which is often the price I pay for going (5th trip in last 1.5 years). In any case, has any on this board decided to invest in the offerning at hand? I haven't looked at it but I don't think I will. If the stock was showing some strength, I would, but for now it is almost artificially being kept at this number (they seem to paint the tape each day). We shall see. It's nice to be back home! Cvet
Thank you my friend. All is going well here in Senegal. I will be teaching a business seminar the next two days with my brother and some of my friends from Uganda who flew over to join us in this mission. All is going very well and we will remain here till Wed. and get home on Thursday. Thanks much for the input while away. It is helpful. I am hopeful the powers that be will somehow get the stock price over a dollar or higher before the raise. I'm hoping some excitement may move it into the 1.50 range and then we have the option to buy around 1.25 or so. Did you get your investor package? My wife told me a biggish box arrived from strata for us. Stay well. I will check back at least once before heading home. Sincerely, Cvet
thanks my friend! i presonally wont get longer unless the stock shows some real life. not sure if that can happen if everyonr knows there is aform of dilution coming. stay well, cvet

my wife says we got an investor package in the mail from strata. anyone else get one? the minimum is 100000 shares i think she wrote. i likely will do nothing more until the stock shows more life. right now i need more assurance something is in the works. cvet
thank you very much! cvet
Hey Grapeman, Thanks much for keeping me up to date on how we are trading. I am in Senegal West Africa, getting here safely on Saturday morning very early. All is going excellently. I am here with my nehphew Tim and his Dad and about ten others doing some painting and other projects to help the needy here. I do hope Strata reaches its potential as I own a boat load and it would free me to do this kind of work which I've done since 1980 and would love to do it for years to come. Stay well my friend, Cagievet
Your points are well taken Grapeman. The bottom line though is that we do have someone with specific expertise in our field and who also has experiance in running a business or watching how it is done in various stages of development.
The motivation he has to highlight successes along the way will likely propel Strata to new highs in the very near future. If the oil is there, which I believe has been established, and if they can get it out of the ground, which current technology is doing; I think we are on a very good track. The momentum should start being with us and it will be a lot easier to hold the shares, even if it takes another 2 years. Cvet Ps. I leave for Africa Friday morning and will be gone for 2 weeks. I may log on from there at some point. Stay well, Cvet
They want to raise about 5 million dollars to buy that piece of land they have rights to, and to continue drilling on the rest of their land. I think dribbling is good as it raises the price of the stock. I think the stock price will continue up as word gets out; then official releases on several fronts (they didn't want to pump the price by making a release first. They want to do this private placement for their shareholders at reasonable numbers before a stream of 'bigger' announcements. On the time table, he was indicating we should be at about 4-5 in 6-12 months. He may be conservative, but I'm fine with those numbers while waiting, even with games the big boys may play. Got to run. Cvet
I had a very good talk with Terry today. Jeff Jordan, the big guy from Norwest says he has never seen a deposit like this in his 30 years in the business. Beyond that he is a guru for oil sands and production and knows much about financing, private placement and other key aspects of running a company. The 1.2 billion of Bitamen is only on half their property and they want to know the other half by continuing to drill. Plus they have found they have another 20 square miles of rights to adjacent property that they want to take advantage of and buy because it looks like it has as much or more oil in it.
Strata sent out cards to half of the shareholders (that is why you and others have not yet got theirs) so each individual shareholder can be told of these developments ahead of the rest of the marketplace. Terry has spoken to about 2,500 shareholds so far, which may account for the recent rise from .42 to about .84 in the past few days. Each call takes him about 6 minutes and as soon as he gets the first 5,000 calls done; the company will send cards for the other half of the shareholders (total we have about 10,000 total). They plan to do a private placement with any shareholders who are interested at a below market price (depending on where it is trading about 3 months from now). It makes sense to me that the word gets out about the impressive find and the Norwest big wig moving to Strata and why, the stock will move on its own within 3 months (the time to get the news out privately and then public release), the stock could be at 4-5 dollars by the time the placement were to begin. In my mind we will see the stock feed on this positive move as the word gets out. We may see a dollar this week and keep pushing up where new investors take notice.
I liked what I heard and told him I would like a piece of the private placement which may happen in 3 months or so.

I heard on bloomberg yesterday that this practice is happening with big board stocks as well. The rules need to change or else the markets as a whole can be manipulated down to nothing. I guess it works both ways. When they want to move it up, they can push it and continue to force shorts to cover. Strata has almost doubled in the past week. Seems the reverse is starting to kick in? Anyone else make contact with Strata re the postcard? So far they haven't picked up for me. As long as the stock goes up each day, they can let the machine answer all they want <G>. Cvet
Yes I did but each time I've called, it has gone pretty much straight to voicemail. The other odd thing is the card says to call re 'Shareholder Certificate' which I wondered what that meant. I was wondering if they wanted us to all request our certificates so people can't borrow from the brokers to short us. I read at Yahoo boards that its all about this new head guy from Norwest, which is good news. I just don't understand the underlined top line which says Re Shareholder Certificate. Thoughts? Did you get through? Nice day today. I will take .13 cents a day anyday to the upside. Volume was decent too. Cvet
Grapeman, I guess I ask 'How can they not be real' ie if Norwest says they have 1.2 billion dollars worth of oil in the ground (back then, the price continues to rise) and that there is 300 billion barrels of Bitimen which can produce 56,000 barrels a day for the next 20-25 years; and one of the big guys from Norwest is coming to join strata; and technology is already in place to get such oil from the ground and technologies continue to improve and oil prices keep going up.....etc, how can the strata story be so unknown??? But also, Norwest is supposed to be the lynchpin of companies in Canada determining who has oil and who doesn't. Seems the story MUST be true? And Shell bought the land next door and Stata says the oil in the ground that they know of right now is worth $12 a share and that is only a fraction of their total land..... Something is not adding up...........cvet
Your point is well taken. It does seem clear that the ground was verified with that oil by the main company that verifies such. What frustrates me is that IF the stated goal of Strata is to sell the company (which it is) to a 'major', it seems they are doing nothing to communicate good news that is hopefully going on and thus raising the pps of the stock and when its time for an offer, we get a great number. Strata SAYS they know what it is worth and thus can't be cheated on price. Right at the moment with the known value in the ground at current prices, they say to me it is worth about 12 dollars. Why is it trading at .50 cents. It must be their failure to unleash the value for share holders. I've been long since the begining and have only added shares. Of late I regret being this invested. Just my humble and honest opinion. Strata has failed to impress me with the way they conduct business. Btw, I got a postcard from Strata today saying to contact investor relations no later than August 7th for an important update (signed by the president). Did any of you get this notice and did any of you call and find out what the update is?? I will call tommorow. Cvet
I called the company twice so far this week with no response. I left them messages including their duty to support the stock. Apparently they don't see it that way. I am very dissapointed with how the stock is trading and, although on relative light volume, I wish I had not gotten involved with them. I almost sold this time last year only to find the good news come out and the stock go up by about four hundred percent. I encourage others to call the company and maybe it will get them to buy back stock or get them to see the value of us shareholders and their responsibility to us. I wonder how the Company who bought a million shares at one dollar in January feels now with their investment cut in half? I hope they are making a few calls....Cvet
But why does the darn price keep going down?!!!!! Very frustrating. Why doesn't such realities push us to higher PPS? Thanks though for taking the time to post your research!! I'm out of town for a few days. Have a great weekend, Cvet
Good point. When do you think news will come out from our beloved company. I am betting about September but am hoping for something this summer. Cvet
What mostly are you highlighting, Grapeman? That the new rules will help our stock to be less pushed around by manipulators?? Interesting we had such light volume today. Cvet
