Can anyone tell me how much PLUG sells hydrogen for to it's customers and what is PLUGs cost to produce hydrogen is?
Also how much is it costing them to buy hydrogen ( per Liter or gal or whatever )

Re Your AIM CASH test
I hope and expect that high cash levels will equal lower future returns for broad based funds but I don't think the results will prove valid for ( many ) individual stocks.
We will see.
Toofuzzy
Hi Tom
Re: Black swan markets
My idea if a security drops from let's say $40 to $20 and I have run out of cash is to.
On low or no dividend securities
1) Sell it all
2) Buy call leaps at a strike 1/2 the price at the time ( in this case $10
3) I pretend I still own the actual shares as far as AIM goes.
That frees up almost half the vale of the position to continue to buy even lower
I used this on WPM and did an initial position on TQQQ using this method.
Toofuzzy
Make it Jake
My point was that if you are using the v wave to set your cash level then you are no longer using AIM.
On the other hand if you are just checking to see if AIM is hold a reasonable cash level, that is another matter. But while I think that is reasonable for diversified funds, I think that breaks down for individual stocks that might not be moving with the broader market.
But you do you
Toofuzzy
Re: the validity of the V wave.
It was intended as a suggested starting point for new accounts, not as a target cash level.
If you wanted to do that you could just not bother with the portfolio control and just rebalance the account periodically based on the V wave !
Toofuzzy
Hi Tom
In 2000 I went on margin for a reasonable amount but in 2008 margin rates were higher so didn't do it.
What I have done eventually to give an example.
I sold all my shares of WPM , many at a loss ( let's say 1,000 sh ) at a price of let's say $30
I.then went and bought (10) $15 call leaps for maybe $16 per share.
That freed up $14,000 which I was then able to deploy buying both WPM at new lower prices, or other securities.
I.trade at the beginning of the month and managed to get a few sales in today before my account went to shit today.
Sold shares of BIB and URTY. Placed a GTC order on KRE because it dropped before I could get to the sale.
I had hopes the market would keep going up today, instead my account is down 2.7% so far today.
Toofuzzy
Hi.Tom
Congratulations
I hope to.have a few sales beginning of August.
I trade the beginning of each month unless I use a GTC order.
Toofuzzy
Well WPM hit my strike price the end of last month but I wanted to wait till the beginning of the month to do my trades.
Then it made me nervous as it dropped. Not that I thought it would drop much but I really want to raise cash.
Anyway, today it went above my sell signal and I sold shares at $57.75. The rest are covered by options and will have to wait till.january to sell more. I expect some will be called.

Sounds like there were some splits along the way.
1) Decide if you are presently more bullish or bearish.
2) Use original cost basis or current price based on above.
3) If cost basis is way lower, start with zero cash and the first sale will provide your cash reserve.
But I'm

Hi Tom
My dad fought in WW2 also. Not much action but behind enemy lines at least once. He did printing of some sort.
He had to try riding a motorcycle once, got scared when he let out the clutch with too much gas I guess and jumped off. I guess he got out of that duty .
His brother, my uncle was in the Navy.
Why do you say we have a gold mine here ?
Toofuzzy
I wonder what out economy would be like if we never entered the Viet Nam war.
No.reason as the Vietnamese hated the Chinese.
But I wonder if the Johnson social programs would have passed if Kennedy wasn't shot.
Toofuzzy
Hi Tom
It has been a long weight on DHT. Because of it's extreme cyclicality I hope to totally sell out eventually.
Toofuzzy
My GTC on DHT finally filled at $12.50
Sold 12% of my shares.
Toofuzzy
Sold 8% of my position.
Taking some profits.
Toofuzzy
I have been selling gradually as it moves up
Toofuzzy
I finally Called in the shipping department and had them sell about 8% of my WPM at $54.31 today.
DHT is getting close to a sale also with a target of $12.06. Meanwhile it pays a decent dividend while I wait .
Toofuzzy
Who is building all these electrolizers in other countries ?
If they are not built by Plug , how efficient are they compared to Plug and how do they compare in cost.
Toofuzzy
I imagine the companies that Plug buys hydrogen from were unwilling to expand production knowing that Plug would produce their own hydrogen, which raised prices with demand.
Now that Plug is producing their own, prices will probably drop and Plug will have less of a price advantage.
Toofuzzy
Jack
What is the profit margin on the hydrogen PLUG is now producing ?
Toofuzzy
Deleated
That is good to hear. And by the end of the year they will cover 100% of their needs ( supposedly )
I.have been wondering for a long time how much they were buying from suppliers and what % they would be able to produce.
Of course now with the new supply , the price of hydrogen will probably go below their cost of production. Why would any of Plug's former suppliers bring on more capacity knowing that Plug would stop buying from them and they would lose the largest user of hydrogen as a customer.
Toofuzzy
Jack
Are you selling or buying ?
Toofuzzy
Don't worry. They will be given way more new stock options at a much lower price that Plug might actually exceed.
Much better to buy puts. Your risk is defined up front.
Toofuzzy
I wonder what % of hydrogen that they sell do they produce
Toofuzzy
I have a problem with that paper / article.
He says the processing of electricity from alterative energy to the output of hydrogen is less than 50% efficient.
But he says oil has an output greater than 1. But that ignors transporting crude out of the ground, to a refinery, the energy used and cost of the refinery, transporting to a power plant, and the difference in efficiency of burning oil ( or gas ) vs using a fuel cell.
I agree their are some differences in efficiency depending on use. Fuel cell cars are much better than a gas engine ( even one burning hydrogen ) and less or no improvement in a power plant but you can't totally ignore the cost of getting oil or gas from the ground to the power plant.
Toofuzzy
Nice move up today
Probably because they negotiated not paying a dividend on some preferred stock.
I wonder what they had to give up ? Article I read didn't say.
As usual
Toofuzzy
Hi Darth
I see Jon answered the question but to make it a bit clearer.
I knew I wanted to sell some shares, I thought it might keep going up, but didn't want to risk it going much lower if it didn't go up.
So I placed an order 2% below the last high price ( a trailing stop ) . So as the price moves up the price I would sell keeps moving up ( trailing by 2% )
You can set the trailing % any amount you want but 2% to 10% is typical.
A risk is that a security will fall a lot overnight and the order will fill a LOT lower, in which case a trailing stop limit order would be better but that might not fill at all.
Stop limit orders are an order you can place , I am not sure a TRAILING stop limit is an order you can actually place.
I suggest you Google " stock order types"
Toofuzzy
Well GEO pulled back today and my trailing stop was hit.
Sold about 14% of my shares.
Toofuzzy
My account is no where near big enough to own that many foreign funds !
Heck, I don't even want to own that many domestic funds !
I just sent you a PM of how I was looking to pare down what I own.
Toofuzzy
I have my whole stock list on Yahoo.
I also put in a high and low limit which is my hold zone.
I also have individual portfolios on Yahoo for each account.
So I keep track of it as all one account and I decide which account I want to buy or sell in based on which account I either want more cash ( if selling ) or have the cash ( if buying ). I also want all sales to be long term in my taxable account.
I definitely have a preference as to which account I want to ultimately hold a specific security in based on if I want to sell options on it or not. I do all option trading in my tax sheltered account now.
If I really wanted to sell more shares than I had in an account I would sell it all off first and then sell a few in the other But as far as AIM is concerned it wouldn't matter.
What bugs me more is dealing with two different trade lots so if AIM says sell 80 shares but it is coming out of a 100 share buy lot, I may sell the 100 shares.
Each to their own. You can always just own a security in one account.
Hi Tom
The problem with the AAII survey for me is that it is based only on members who decide to give feedback.
It is not a sample.
It would be sort of like asking who are you going to vote for ? If one side is more rabid then the other, that will be the result you will get, meanwhile the actual election could be different if the more rabid side stayed home drunk and on drugs.
Toofuzzy
Placed a trailing stop for 14% of my GEO shares.
It will be nice to lighten up on this security.
Toofuzzy
Hi Tom
I have been aiming EFA for years and have had very little or no trading the last few years. Not enough volatility.
Toofuzzy
Ohhhh
Can I get a new one ?
Toofuzzy
I just found my secured decoder ring when I moved.
I wish I could give a friend one as a gift.
Toofuzzy
Hi Adam
I also own some securities in two accounts.
Happens when I don't have funds to buy in one account.
Over time I try to consolidate but I just treat it as one AIM machine.
