Keep the faith!!!! My portfolio is sickly looking... Let's work together and find some nice plays. So angry with CMSI.
I really like NWGN from here. I plan on holding it for much higher levels.
If anyone ever wants to research an emerging beverage company (ignore the balance sheet for now though), check out CELH. CELH is the entire reason I started investing. I bought it when it was trading at under .10 on the OTC as CSUH.OB, and it has since done a forward split and an up listing to the Nasdaq.
They make a functional drink called Celsius that's clinically proven to burn 100 calories or more per serving using caffeine, B vitamins, Green Tea, and EGCG. It's sweetened with splenda (not aspertame) and it's diabetic friendly. They have 7 clinical studies now backing up their claims (priceless in my opinion - no other company has this clinical validity), and I believe it is on the leading curve of where the beverage industry is heading.
It's innovation that is keeping convenience beverage channels afloat, and Celsius is there. Company revenue growing quarter after quarter, and they just gained distribution in select Walmart and Sam's Clubs nationwide. These orders will be on the Q2 balance sheet. I hope that Celsisus is a prime partner or buy out candidate someday. I'm locked and loaded with it, and I've been with it though good days and bad.
NWGN is looking really good and treating me well. I'd say green light on anyone that wants to play it.
SSWC had a nice pop today, although buyer beware.
Took a major loss with CMSI... GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE.
How did the markets treat everyone today?
No prob Lowtrade... Your hard work doesn't go unnoticed. I'm also grateful that you can help me with some of my goals. I have a lot to learn! Good luck to you and everyone one the board.
Thanks for you analysis on CMSI... Most definitely got caught in the pump and dump!
Poised for takeoff! Should be an interesting day... CMSI has a new website, and you know they have a plan to attract investors post split. Could give us a really good multiple! See u at the top.
Has anyone seen the new CMSI website! It's great.... This thing is primed for a run.
OBESITY DRUGS...
I'm looking to make an investment in a pharm "play." We're all aware of the great impact that obesity has on healthcare, wallstreet, and mainstreet... It's been about 10 years since a SUCCESSFUL weight loss/obesity drug has been FDA approved, and currently 3 public biopharma companies are racing to produce the newest blockbuster. This drug will address a 10+ billion dollar U.S. niche annually. The winning company will capture approximately 10-15% of this market (conservative estimate), sending shares of the winning company significantly higher.
Right now my money is on ARNA with its drug candidate Lorcaserin. Wallstreet seems to be betting against this one due to disappointing efficacy results. Wallstreet, however, isn't full of scientists and physicians... They're more like blood thirsty hounds that seem to drool over RESULTS without weighing placebo group information or side effects into the mix.
For what it's worth, I'm currently in medical school, and as a future physician I would prescribe Lorcaserin over any of the other candidates. Conservative, safest treatments come first! Physicans want safe drugs that they can prescribe chronically... I'm well versed in pharma, and I understand how the three drugs work.. I really like ARNA, but yet I haven't done much DD on the company fundamentals or pipeline. This is an area in which I am weak.
____________Some DD____________________________________________
Lorcaserin faces FDA approval on Oct 22, and is a SELECTIVE 5HT-2C R agonist... basically like fenfluramine, but does not produce vavulopathies or any heart problems because they tweaked the selectivity issue. We all know how fen-phen sales exploded but not without unfortunate health consequences due to nonselectivity. This ultimately cost Wyeth around 20B dollars... Lorcaserin is not supposed to agonize the 5HT-2B R at all. It's looking like diabetics can use this one (BLOSSOM-DM phase II trial)! Lorcaserin has a very unique profile for tolerability and safety, and it has undergone 18 clinical trials following over 8,576 patients. It also does not require a 4 week titration (Qnexa and Contrave do). This drug seems to be showing the least amount of AEs, but it is not as efficacious as the other drug candidates. It could be used as a FIRST LINE treatment. Even if not super efficacious, maybe this one could be used in combination with other drugs? Phentermine + Lorcaserin = safe fen-phen? I really like this one, but it seems wallstreet is betting against it. This is where my bet is currently....
Qnexa is a combo of phentermine and topiramate, both already FDA approved drugs. Topiramate is an anticonvulsant used to treat epilepsy. It's selective for receptors in the hypothalamus that regulate appetite. Using an antiepileptic to suppress appetite is just looking for trouble in terms of side effects... It's unique time released technology is supposed to free patients of nausea, yet this drug on it's own causes nausea. Other side effects include dry mouth, constipation, parestheis, cognitive effects etc. It's not looking as safe as Lorcaserin, but it's incredibly more efficacious (something like 18% reduction in overall body weight compared with 5-6% of Lorcaserin - Lorcaserin slides right by the FDA's min standard of 5% pts). IT faces FDUFA on Oct, 28 2010... FDA panel on July 15th. It seems that this stock, VVUS, is the one that is trading the most forward... telling me that the street may be betting on this drug as a better candidate of approval. Phentermine and Topiramate are already available in generic form. I'm thinking that this isn't beneficial to VVUS, because as a physician I would prob just prescribe two generics instead of Qnexa to future patients??? Also I'd never use an anticonvulsant to suppress appetite.
I'm still learning about Contrave, a combo of bupropion and maltrexone... Buproprion is highly contraindicated in hypertensive patients, yet doesn't HTN fit the obesity profile? Again we're seeing more adverse effects but much greater efficacy as compared to Lorcaserin. This one is my least favorite candidate so far. It doesn't face approval until early 2011.
REALLY Exciting post! Thanks for the updates!
MFLI --> "possible Network reality show announcement coming on the 3rd." Just wondering where you heard this/where you're basing that info from?
Thanks a best of luck!
NWGN is heavy on my radar this week along with SSWC.
Very political of you.... unless of course, you're using some medical mary J, in which case I'd say: VERY DEEP RESPONSE.
Go CMSI.
I strongly believe that CMSI has been keeping news close to the vest, and they will be ready to update us with significant developments post split to attract new investors and really create value here. The PR machine may be locked and loaded.
I could totally see a run from .06-.07 range all the way back up to .75 - 1.00.
Any thoughts?
Can anyone refresh my memory as to when the stock price will be adjusted. Will this be on the 2nd or on the 4th?
www.finviz.com
Hey lowtrade,
I just caught the video that you posted on stock screening. The site is really great, and I enjoyed playing around with the "maps" feature. I was just wondering: besides the up channel technical indicator, what other indicators do you use to aid in your stock screening selections? Any advice would be appreciated.
CMSI - Any thoughts on this one? I picked up some shares in order to qualify for the forward split/dividend. This way I can sell off half of my position and have some shares to play with post split. I hope to see some last minute investors pile in on tuesday to make the ex dividend cut and raise the price. Even if that doesn't happen, I then envision the company releasing a series of "good news" PRs to set a run up from the post split level.
As always thanks for your insight.
Anything think that there will be action on tuesday as people rush to get in for the dividend?
VCTY -- Hello All and good morning! I have a rookie question for you concerning timing buys. I'm told to ALWAYS avoid "rush hour," and to never buy during the morning feeding frenzy...
If I applied this to VCTY (no news today... simply a MoMo), I would have missed some upside as I watched it take off!!!
Any thoughts? Does anyone have any rules that guide them when jumping head first into MoMo?
Options?
Hello Lowtrade! Thanks for your help previously with RNWF. I did as you said, and it worked out perfectly for me. I appreciate your time.
Do you ever invest in options to increase the potential for gains? I've been looking at MSO. I think now would be the time to enter, and I'd be happy with $1.00/ share gain. Do you ever use options or even call/put spreads to help maximize gains?
I'm a 23 yr old investor who doesn't have a lot of cash to put all into one play. Ideally, I'd buy 1,000 shares of MSO in effort to make profit of $1,000 dollars, etc. I just don't have this type of buying power yet.
Thanks.
ooops got my days/dates mixed up! I'm on vacation! Anyway, I'm here and ready to rock with you all.
How can we spread the word about tomorrow being the deadline!!!???
Wonderful Gem! I'm in with 1,000 shares. Currently underwater a tiny bit, but what can you expect right now? Until we get some decent news or updates, we'll get some churning and short players. ARNA is currently the wallstreet underdog.
I hope that the July 15 FDA panel delivers bad news to VVUS concerning Qnexa... They're using a generic drug combo and exploiting an anticonvuslant to achieve appetite suppression. Don't like it, and if the FDA doesn't like it as well, the game will change for ARNA!
I'm currently stuck on the question: What is the market need for these obesity drugs? That's a really generic question, for we all know that the metabolic drug market needs some good candidates to address the increasingly overweight. Will the FDA want to approve 1 drug, 2 drugs, or all 3?
Remember, key to a good drug: SAFETY >>> EFFICACY. Safety will allow Lorcaserin to be prescribed as a first line drug, and to be prescribed chronically. It works, but just not as well as Qnexa (according to the studies). Wallstreet just wants dazzled with efficacy and results, but physicians want more than just superfical glam. Ok it works well, but how safe is Qnexa? Fingers crossed that this one is the winner.
Good luck.
Hello all... I'm back on the board. Hoping things get interesting here tomorrow for you guys. People wanted the dividend weeks ago, and piled in... I don't see why they wouldn't want it now! Hope to see you all at .85 + tomorrow.
Hold strong bruce... Avg down = key to success... Now you're heavily loaded and ready to exit with a greater profit.
GEM, did you ever look into those plays? ARNA vs. VVUS vs. OREX?
I took a position in ARNA recently. You'll have to let me know what you thought. I like the potential that Lorcaserin (their drug candidate) has for putting $$$$ in my pockets.
Thanks for taking the time to write back... Well good luck to you sir.
Yes! THAT'S CRAZY VOLUME... So is that the MM way of keeping shares from breaking through certain levels? Did they hold those back to prevent a total breakout? How is that even legal?
Agreed sir.
HELLLOOOOOOOO???!???? I still am holding a portion of my original position here...
I'm long just like you...
Look at that volume at .0054!!! So here's a rookie question... how does that happen, and is this 100% considered MM manipulation? It seems that they got their way at the EOD... Really really hoping we get some news... I'm not sure what to think of it today, but I don't yet understand the market cycle that a lot speak of.
Buy volume: 54,262,696
Sell volume: 88,369,662
? Volume: 5,922,186
Maybe the biggest play of 2010!!!! Good luck to all.... See you in pennyland!
Fair enough... You can think what you want. You know as well as I that it's important to stick to what works for you as a trader... and there's a big reason why I still own shares... I'm long, and you are too... We have something in common. Good luck to you and to the rest of the board.
It's called vacation... What RX plays am I pumping? I'm down to only 1/4 of my original position here due to not seeing the volume the other day, and regretting it big time... Look at my message history... Where else have i been?
And you didn't answer who is William and what are his credentials... IT BETTER NOT BE B.S.... How could you disagree with that?
P.S. I'm not here to be your friend. I'm here to make money... and how dare you greet me like that after being gone for 24 hrs.
HAHA! I hope you're joking... I'm here... I'm also on vacation and not spending a ton of time on here... How do you know me sir? What are my games? Let's hear em.
Who is this Wiliam guy and what are his credentials/connections? This better not be a bunch of bullsh*t.

Yeah... I got a call notifying me that I had committed a free ride, and I got an email outlining the rules.
Before my friend had a margin account, he had committed 3 of them and claims that nothing ever happened. I'm looking at 2 at the most IF and only if I need to move quickly back out of a certain fast moving play.
Free Ride... Anyone ever commit a "free ride" according to regulation T? Happened for the first time to me this week because all of my playing money is tied up. It might be looking like I'll make one more... Anyone know what happens with scottrade if you've committed 2? Thanks very much, and becoming more mindful of my trading.
Lowtrade, I've been reading up all day after being referred here from a friend. You have very brilliant posts, and I'm grateful for the educational experience that you provide.
What are anyone's thought's on RNWF? It's been seeing intense action lately. You can private message me in the event of not cluttering the board. Thanks.
WOW I dumped RNWF and look where it went!!! CAN'T CALL THEM ALL... All I've got to say is that I'm glad I'm part of a board that is focused on one thing = WINNING. We, my friends, are profits of what is right.
When you all buy, do you select "All or None?" This is usually what I do, however, I hate how long it takes to fill!!!!
You should see what happens today Bruce...
Thanks gem... I like the idea of the $$$$ fairy. Hopefully she's not the same as the tooth fairy. I don't want to her to take any teeth this week!
GO EATR!!! <<-- 25% from here would give me no complaints.
GO ICBT!!! <<--- Bruce called this one... It's HIGH on the breakout boards. Looking for this thing to bang.
Thanks very much! Already out at today's high! I got really lucky, because the price started to TANK...
I'm now in EATR at .0008 and Bruce's bottom play!
Do you still like EATR? I'm thinking this still has legs due to the buzz being created, as well as the price holding up as the TD lions had their shares unlocked today.
Jumped into EATR at .0008. Anyone think this will have some legs soon? Multi bagger?
ICBT an awesome play... accumulation and float are juicy. Looking to run soon.
EVOGF...Junior Mining play. You all probably won't like it, but I've traded in and out of it twice now. Bought at .93 sold at 1.15, etc...
This (at these levels) is usually a time when I'd buy in again, but all of my funds are tied up for now.
Have family out in Cody WY, and they report that there's a lot of buzz going on about the Rattlesnake Hills project. They have a resource report due any time this month. If it's good, expect some price action.
