Mr. INET Sir, you may consider all or parts of your post as "BS speculation" but please don't label mine as such.
Please extent me the courtesy to do it myself! LOL
Actually, I thought my post to be reasonable and evenhanded.
I wasn't trying to spin negative or postitive, just speculating on what would be a prudent course of business for disposition of the first production run.
I don't think all 10 units in CDEX's possession will be used to upgrade beta units, just a few at selected hospitals IMO. I suppose some will be needed to sell to house accounts. Even though Baxa has an exlusive I'll bet (sorry Scared) CDEX negotiated a limited number of direct sales into their agreement with Baxa for partnership development programs or the like.
They are only initiating the very beginning of their marketing plan, they'll still need to keep a intimate relationship with some hospitals to further develop their product line.
I can't resist this comment by DocDwight which has me puzzled:
"...The intent of the Valimed device is to detect the chemical composition of a compound, not verify that a prescription is what the prescription calls for type thing."
I have absolutely no idea how DD can convincingly differentiate between the fuction of RXSpec and Valimed by saying Valimed does not verify a prescription.
Nonsensical IMO.
The latest CDEx PR clearly states that Valimed identifies the drug and the concentration.
It identifies the drug and concentration which has been prescribed by a doctor. That is called a prescription.
How can DD say that Valimed is NOT verifying a prescription?
He can't.
The difference is That RxSpec validates prescribed drugs which are in "unit dose" form and have not be altered by compounding or any other pharmacist intervention. Another difference is that RxSpec has been configured for high-speed validation of solids only at automated central-fill pharmacies.
Valimed validates prescription drugs which have undergone compounding by a pharmacists for IV solution medications and where a high-risk liquid med must be diluted from unit dose such as in pediatric hospitals. Valimed is inherently used where high-speed validation is not needed.
Both validate prescription drugs.
LOL, exactly Xeno, that's why I wanted doyoudd to explain her brilliant reasoning! LOL
Could it be? Griffin is selling below his option price because he knows the price is heading North? Is that how you make money, buy high and sell low to avoid tax?
Time to load up! LOL
Ecuxe me... "INET" (although I think we just found a new nicknmae for you Harry! LOL)
INERT, here is another example where you have jumped to conclusions, or in other words, read more into the CDEx filing than was actually there IMO.
You wrote:
"...All we will ever know is that the first units were delivered, as noted in the PR, more than likely to BaXA,who have stated (at one time) that they had standing orders for 15 units."
Maybe you are correct and I missed something but what I remember is the CDEx filing stating that 15 out of 25 of the first Valimed production units (please note that term Moonie & Nasfan) had been set aside for sales or lease. Rottenapple already made this point weeks ago.
1. The filing does not explicitly state that 15 units have been sold/leased, they have only been "set aside" or reserved.
2. The most recent PR did not state how many units would be delivered to Baxa although I, along with most, I'm assuming it's the 15 units as stated in the filing.
Nevertheless, I fully expect that those first 15 units will be sold/leased immediately if there is any demand whatsoever.
Futher, I expect the 10 remaining units in CDEX's possession to be used to replace the production prototype/beta units (please note the term Moonie & Nasfan) currently in use at hospitals which will remain as CDEX "house accounts".
It is reasonable to assume that CDEX has established very close "partnerships" with some of the hospitals that have assisted CDEX with development of the Valimed library and they will continue this relationship into the future with the upgraded Valimed units.
For example, I would expect CDEx to continued to work closely with the Utah Cancer Center in developing signatures for Chemo drugs.

doyourdd, I'm not sure I understand what you're saying.
...If they have some great revenue coming in, better sell now to avoid the AMT..."
Do you mean that they should sell before an anticipated gain?
"...I bet that no one on this board pays more than $10.00 for haircuts..."
Hmmmm.... I hesitate to respond.
Does that include tip? LOL
Actually, I get my hair cut for free at a professional salon.
I'm that good looking, it brings in walk-ins when I'm there.
LOL somemore!
Paige, I would be very impressed if CDEx attended SPIE for the purpose of showing their wares as Loch Harris did in the past.
That would be significant IMO.
I'd even tell Moonie that I'm planning on attending if it was held in Sandy Eggo (TM- stock_distributor).
Couse I wouldn't show up! LOL
Then there's WMFT who still appears to be in denial that:
1. Loch Harris was a scam.
2. Himanez was one of the very first posters to call it.
3. The concensus is that Loch Harris was a scam and it is not true that "the concensus is based on only 5-6 posters on this board". (what an absolute STUPID statement!!!!)
Admittedly, some believe the scam ran much deeper than others, but a scam all the same. Some believe it was only DaBoyz (TM-blochoc) with their misleading PR's, the unaccountable 100 million newly authorized shares issed just prior to the pump-n-dump, their alleged offshore accounts (AMEX) and the subsequent sinking of the ship uncannily predicted by a mysterious poster, Hotel00. (Just to highlights a few events, there's SO MUCH MORE!!!!)
Anyone that doesn't believe that a true concensus exists must not believe any of the above took place.
They must also believe the holocaust didn't take place either.
Amazing how people will attempt to twist historical events with time.
Hmmmm... it appears that Xeno is talking from direct experience and Milchip is talking from emotions... once again.
Crow, on the TCL board some are talking about a 3 million share PP offering and thirty centers dumping at the same time.
That meshes well with your belief that CDEx management prefers the PPS low at this time for their own personal gain and the above scenario could be providing a vehicle to accomplish this (and could possibly suggest some orchestration).
Once they start buying back in at the low, it should start move up quickly as it appears to be doing.
I think Griffin knows how to play the game well. He apparently has a track record for success in this field so I'm willing to bet (sorry Scared) we're going to see a steady rise in the next week or two based on positive PR's regarding sales/lease contracts and the halt of insider selling.
I don't think it will be the big one yet although it will bring the PPS back up to around a buck.
What can we expect? If the infringement suit doesn't screw things up there's definately (TM- Closertocash) going to be a big pump.
We've seen it sevarl times in the past and if it works don't fix it.
And I agree with you 100% that the playing field is slanted heavily in favor of the insiders. If you're going to play the game to make a buck ya better be on your toes. That is unless you're a Long, then just relax and enjoy the ride wherever that might take you. LOL
Just my WAG for amusement.
I can still read posts there also, but lately it's been a craps shoot when I click a post whether it will appear or not.
Yes, it's sad to hear that Art has passed. I hope his wife was waiting for him.
Milchip and a couple others posted so very nice words.

To whom it may concern, I no longer have any access whatsoever to my RB email address, diddy@lycos.com. If anyone is trying to contact me there I am not ignoring you.
I have no idea what happen, suddenly it went "poof".
But that's OK, after Ontheedge's false accusations about a mystery email I suspected that someone may have hacked into my mailbox so I had quit using it anyway.
Why is INET still in the slammer? Can't he swallow that lump in his throat?
What's wrong crow, not to eager to visit your buddies in the slammer? LOL
I wonder if they delievered the 15 units marked for delivery to Baxa for sales and lease as stated in the last filing.
Paige, I haven't read the complete filewrapper in detail so I can't comment on your post at this time.
If the law suit has no merit shareholders have nothing to worry about. IMO, I beleive it does, but that's coming from someone that doesn't know what he's talking about. LOL
I know Zeno to be highly qualified in patent law, but he is constrained by professional ethics and can only generalize.
Unless, of course you pay him. LOL
I don't know either Zeno, maybe Crow will email it to me.... although a "dirty joke from the fifties" is probably tame by todays standards.
OOPS! EOM
I'm old enough to remember a few of those things Scared. On the other hand, some of those words I've never heard before! LOL
I'm old enough to remember a few of those things Scared. On the other hand, some of those words I've never heard before! LOL
Crow, if you start taken about the early fifties you're gunna lose your readers! LOL
Xeno, I think Paige is most likely a great hairstylist, savvy businessperson and good motivator, but someone that can twist patent law around you, not in a gazillon years!! LOL
Paige, it seems that you are making the same assumption as INET when you wrote:
"Well since we are all guessing here...How can they make that broad of claims... but have not (yet) actually done a Constructive Reduction to Practice...
Inet wrote:
"...evidently they (ASD) has not solved the liquid problem..."
INET doesn't know that ASD has/had a "liquid problem" nor do you know whether ASD has not constructed a device to test liquids.
I continue to address this point because I talked with ASD's co-founder and co-inventor of the technology on more than one occasion well over a year ago. It was my impression ASD was quite aware of the advantages and disadvantages of NIRF vs. UVF for testing different meds and naturally chose the method which would have the greatest value for the healthcare industry.
What we do know for certain is that ASD chose to initially develop/market a device that non-destructively tests pills since this represents 90% of all prescriptions. Futhermore, through partnershiup with the largest healthcare company in the world, they chose to target central-fill pharmacies which appears to be the trend for the future.
They went high-end with a method to quickly and non-destructively test the vast majority of all prescriptions in a novel, automated prescription-fill environment.
My understanding is that NIRF (and NIR microscopy) is superior for testing solids and you can easily find information where healthcare organizations all over the world are embracing this testing method over UVF.
While CDEX continues to claim Valimed as a tool for counterfeit detection I don't believe that it will ever compete with a NIRF-based instrument for that purpose simply because NIRF does the job better and for the vast majority of prescription meds.
As I have stated several times in the past, I believe that Valimed is a niche product for liquids only. I also believe that ASD stands a far greater chance of penetrating the market with a low-cost unit (based on NIRF) like Valimed for putting a counterfeit detection device in every street corner, "Mom-n-Pop" pharmacy (TM- Raiderman) in the country- and beyond.
This view is supported by the fact that ALL of the CDEx concept products based on Valimed are centered around the testing of liquids- not solids. Valimed must crush a pill and manually place it into a cuvette for testing while a NIRF device can perform the same test at a stand-off distance non-destructively.
Valimed is best suited for liquids and is attempting to establish a low-cost, niche product for that purpose with several innovative applications. A NIRF-based device is best suited for solids and, therefore, the vast majoriry of all prescrition medicines IMO.
INET et al may consider the constructive opinons on this board as "babble", but I find that he, nor anyone else can provide a reasonable counter-example supporting anything otherwise to the opinions above.
So Paige I would agree that Valimed appears to be fulfilling a need in the healthcare industry, but that need appears to be in a very narrow segment of the market despite all the wonderful things CDEx calims the device can do. And while the newly revised production Valimed unit appears to be a viable product, the CDEX concept products may take substantially more time to become future products IMO.
So I say regardless of how Loch/CDEX has had a tendency to leave information in their PR's up for interpretation, a little DD and reasonable thinking allows one to keep it real.
For example,
-Nasfan and Monsoonman have learned despite their tempermental arguments, a production prototype is not the same thing as a production unit.
-Butterfly has learned that it is highly unlikely that there will be up to 22 Valimed units in each hospital just because Valimed could be a useful tool for each pharmacy and nursing unit in a hospital.
doyourdd, you make your boss proud! Keep it up those worldly posts!
Crow, I also caught whiff of the same rumor about meth labs and a three letter government agency responsible for hunting them down.
Reminded me of the rumored FAA/Loch contract many moons ago.
Same sheet different day IMO.
INET,
[i}"A point of conjecture Analytical devices evidently has not solved the liquid problem or they are not really with it,since they only test tablets.JMHO'
That is definitely conjecture. But you say "evidently", what evidence do you have INET?
Maybe ASD realizes that 90% of all prescriptions are pills and that NIRF is the best tool to test solids.
Maybe ASD knows that UV is better suited for testing liquids and that's why it is included in their patents?
Scared, I know it was tempting to buy just before the infringement suit was announced. Everything looked like a significant PPS increase was going to happen soon. Now, I don't know, even if Baxa sells all of the first production run units. I believe that the infringement suit will be a monkey on our backs until settled.
"It is being said that the patent issue is all about nothing. Could very well be, BUT what if it is not. Then what happens? Would Cdex have to stop using the issue at question? Would they have to start over or would they be able to work around it in time?"
I don't believe for a second anyone that claims the patent issue is about nothing. That is absurd IMO. I believe that ASD patent attorneys had a very long time to review the case and they just don't file infringement suits that will "backfire on them" like some people have posted. That's very unmindful thinking IMO.
The issue may very well condense down to the example I gave about the "chair". ASD has a basic patent on the chair and CDEX has patented an improved by adding a backrest. CDEx cannot produce the chair without ASD's approval and at the same time, ASD cannot produce a chair with a backrest without CDEx's approval.
That's a good example of how a patent is really a negative right which can prevent someone else from making your invention yet you may not be able to make it yourself.
Whatever the outcome may be, it's going to be interesting following the case.
No Crow, I don't believe that the terrorist threat has quit escalating.
"Focusing next on detection of chemical and biological agents, I am pleased to announce that today the US Government made public a contract with CDEX signed on May 8, 2003 for CDEX to perform a study of the feasibility of the CDEX technology to support identification of chemical/biological agents (Phase 1). If the study is successful, the contract contains a government option for the construction of demonstration/testing prototypes (Phase 2). The contract price for Phase 1 is about $200K and for Phase 2 about $800K. We are pleased with the contract, are honored by the government’s consideration of our technology and look forward to the opportunity to be a part of this country’s response to this escalating terrorist threat."
This naturally leads me to two conclusions:
1. The Phase I study was not successful.
2. The Phase I study was successful, but the government did not exercise their option to commit another $800K for a demo/testing prototype.
Maybe the HLS budget for new gadgets is very, very tight?
Rottenapple, I haven't read ahead so I don't know whether anyone else as obliged you yet so...
..."Someone needs to kick me right square in the "you know where"! I can't believe I was dumb enough to buy back in this company."
My kicker is working fine, unfortuntately I can't quite reach you from here! LOL
"I feel dumber than a "butterfly" right about now. Any of you who want to say "I told you so" or call me a dumb ass, go for it! I deserve it and I won't be offended."
You're not dumb RA, you've put yourself in a perfect position to spend more money and average down! We've hit bargain-basement prices; it can't get any lower than this. We're not going to see this opportunity again.
O/T Arloco, when is that event? This weekend or next?
Crow... but how many shares has ontheedge sold? LOL
What was the size of that last trade at .70? EOM
Crow, I wish I had gotten itchy! Well at least I got smarter. Maybe one day I'll be as investment savvy as doyourdd! LOL
Sanddolllar, just like the farewell post of the most famous Loch/CDEX stock promoter, Tomscheboy, who stick around long enough for the WA pump-n-dump before saying adios.
Now the next generation of Loch/CDEx stock promoters have also disappeared from the boards, but not before the SOL expired.
And of course, not without posting links to all the world problems the revolutionary tech may one day solve and not without telling stories about how the new CDEx tean were heros that saved the day and gave all Loch shareholders a chance.
Yawn.....
"...it looks to me like the lower the price drops, the more peeps are selling..."
How about the perps?
If CDEX plans to market Valimed in the EU I wonder if the unit needs to be ROHS compliant?
http://www.rohs.gov.uk/
Now Scared, it was only an opinion and we've all learned that opinions do vary! LOL
OT: WMFT/Crow, while illegal immigrants/aliens may provide a needed labor force there are two points to be made. First, the USA is a land of laws and most have broken those laws in order to work here. Secondly, don't think for one minute that they carry their own weight while working here, they are being supported by hard working American citizens much like the US government is supporting Walmart.
Here is a letter that gets the last point across:
Dear President Bush:
I'm about to plan a little trip with my family and extended family,
and I would like to ask you to assist me. I'm going to walk across
the border from the U.S. into Mexico, and I need to make a few
arrangements. I know you can help with this.
I plan to skip all the legal stuff like visas, passports,
immigration quotas and laws. I'm sure they handle those things the
same way you do here.
So, would you mind telling your buddy, President Vicente Fox, that
I'm on my way over? Please let him know that I will be expecting
the following:
1. Free medical care for my entire family.
2. English-speaking government bureaucrats for all services I might
need, whether I use them or not.
3. All government forms need to be printed in English.
4. I want my kids to be taught by English-speaking teachers.
5. Schools need to include classes on American culture and history.
6. I want my kids to see the American flag flying on the top of the
flag pole at their school with the Mexican flag flying lower down.
7. Please plan to feed my kids at school for both breakfast and
lunch.
8. I will need a local Mexican driver's license so I can get easy
access to government services.
9. I do not plan to have any car insurance, and I won't make any
effort to learn local traffic laws.
10. In case one of the Mexican police officers does not get the
memo from Pres. Fox to leave me alone, please be sure that all
police officers speak English.
11. I plan to fly the U.S. flag from my house top, put flag decals
on my car, and have a gigantic celebration on July 4th. I do not
want any complaints or negative comments from the locals.
12. I would also like to have a nice job without paying any taxes,
and don't enforce any labor laws or! tax law s.
13. Please tell all the people in the country to be extremely nice
and never say a critical word about me, or about the strain I might
place on the economy.
I know this is an easy request because you already do all these
things for all the people who come to the U.S. from Mexico. I am
sure that Pres. Fox won't mind returning the favor if you ask him
nicely.
However, if he gives you any trouble, just invite him to go quail
hunting with your V.P.
Thank you so much for your kind help.
