Hope everyone had a great holiday :) Finally getting things settled here again.
Agree.
CLWR doesn't look too appealing anymore. Had a couple nice plays with it this past week but I'll be holding off for awhile until I see where this may be headed.
Just wanted to let you know that I replied to your private message via the email address you gave me.
Yes I received it, I've been a bit busy sorry I haven't replied yet; will reply later today. Hope you had a good New Years! :)
I've been watching this one for awhile now. I was debating to make a move on it today but decided to wait. Charts are interesting but I believe the SHLD news has more of an influence on the performance at the moment.
I'm really loving S! There's always a nice charm to it!
Interesting, thanks for the points.
I'm pretty sure EK went under .64! Day low .63! LOL! :)
Of course I do, that doesn't neglect the fact that now they have a lawsuit to deal with and prepare for! Everything costs money which they don't have any to spare at the moment! Which brings me to my original statement that they may file sooner than I thought!
I didn't say it will drive EK into BK, EK is already heading to BK if you haven't noticed! I had said that it's another problem on EK's shoulders. EK doesnt have money to sustain business now they have to deal with a lawsuit! So I ended the post by saying they may file sooner than I thought. Not hard to understand!
Kyocera files complaint against Kodak for patent infringement
Kyocera Corporation has filed a complaint against Eastman Kodak Company in the US District Court for the Southern District of California for infringement of one of Kyocera's patents for inkjet recording head structure.
The complaint alleges that the head component of Kodak inkjet printers infringes US Patent No. 7,097,286, which is Kyocera's intellectual property.
The suit seeks as-yet undetermined monetary damages, as well as an injunction against Kodak to cease manufacturing and sales of products that infringe said patent.
Just another problem for EK to deal with. EK doesn't even have enough money to sustain business for another 6 months let alone go to court and pay out another company! BK may come faster than I thought!
Read your private message. Thanks! Marked you.
Interesting and good article. "The focus of investors is no longer on Kodak’s business but on the contents of its purse: can Kodak live off cash on hand until they can sell their patents? It is increasingly likely that Kodak will end up in some kind of restructuring, probably a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing."
Exactly what I've been saying for weeks! The only reason why investors are even playing EK is because of the portfolio and they won't be able to sell it until the strings all over it are detached. While EK's cash is burning rapidly they either need make some revenue quick or they will have to file so they could sell their portfolio easier, have a good amount of debt reduced, as well as a chance to restructure with profit from the patent sales and rebound the company into a better organized business. They are seriously strapped down until the patents are sold and that will most likely not happen until they file or until the court date which they won't make it until the middle of next year with all their cash dissolving. Filing BK will be the only way EK can have decent rebound at this point unless some major sales are executed within the next couple of months.
When there was good news I predicted it to drop back down to the initial PPS within a day or two and it did exactly that. Regardless of news, EK is weak and the only thing that will save it is the portfolio sale which won't happen until all the strings attached are broken, which is why the court date is so valuable. EK won't make it until the middle of next year with their cash rapidly dissolving. The only way out and to possibly make a recovery is through BK unless they get some very big sales within the next month or so.
EK longs fall two directions. Either you lose just about all your investment (or what you have left at this point), or you make your funds back that you lost already from this disaster during the past few weeks and also gain a decent profit if the patents are sold.
What makes the most sense is not even holding onto this for these past weeks and just flip it or short it. Whatever profit you may get from this (if it does work out in EK's favor) I have most likely already made (or more) from going in and out of it! All longs at this point (for weeks now I should say) are in the hole completely. Should have sold earlier or at least should have sold at the rediculous bounce that occurred from the good news last week. It was simply a pump so investors could dump. As I said when it happened, it was a time to SELL NOT BUY. What do you know, it tanked and it went back to the initial PPS almost immediately, like I also predicted.
Day traders don't care about the company they trade, they care about numbers and stats. Are you hear to love and befriend the company or make money off of it? The answer to that question divides who knows how to work the market. I know where I stand, I believe many are still confused considering they seem to love and hold onto EK even though it's been tanking and they're losing money, yet they're wanting to make a profit if/when the patents are sold. The smart investor knows when to drop a stock even if they are at a loss. The stock will always be there to buy back in. Emotional attachment is the biggest problem in personal investors, that's all I have to say. GLTA!
Aries4747: Agreed, great article as well. Value Investor: We've been right all along. :)
No prob! Glad I decided to wait, S dropped a few more pennies.
Save your time, most are strong longs that won't change their mind even if this shows -50% in one day. In reality though this has dropped 50% in a month but no one is seeing what the company is doing and how they're on the verge of filing. As many times as I've stated information, posted numbers, stated predictions left and right and all of them being correct about declines etc. it seems most don't care and want to hold. EK has at most a few months left if patents aren't sold which they won't be because of the strings attached with them. The court date was pushed so far back that EK won't be able to survive until then, EK will most likely file to at least have a chance to make some sort of rebound.
I couldn't resist LOL, I was hoping more would benefit from my predictions but I believe most are longs and don't want to sell their shares to use the funds to flip for what ever reason so many of you just get annoyed hearing about my predictions of it dropping lower (even though they end up being correct). In the end, the only ones who benefit from my predictions are the ones who flip/short/decide to finally let their shares go and use the funds actively instead of holding long.
If some had sold along time ago when I was saying this would continue to drop they wouldn't be in nearly of a big hole as they are in now. If someone loved EK so much they could've sold before all these drops and then just bought back in at low levels. Once it dropped under $1 it was obvious this would be a spiral downward...It's all about timing and numbers.
S looks tempting at this level; debating to see if it goes lower though. I think I'll wait it out a little longer.
Agreed, I've been doing very well flipping it. Anyone that held is down a considerable amount expecially if the average is above $1.
That aside, to the ones who've been emailing me, my prediction was correct about it dropping at least .05 today :) Once it jumped from .65 to .69 right before close yesterday it was obvious this would drop back down to at least .65 and most likely further if the market is red which is exactly what it did! EK @ .6402 down .0498 almost exactly .05 like I predicted and it's only 10:40AM! Too easy! :)
EK @ .6404 down 7.19%
Agreed. I've been saying BK for several weeks and everyone criticized me. Finally another member agrees. Everyone should've dropped their shares long ago and just have been flipping this like I have. Never fall in love with a stock, emotional attachment is an investors worst nightmare. Everyone should have sold the moment it dipped under $1, it's been a spiral downward since then and it's just been getting worse. Then if the love of the stock is still there, then one can always buy in again once it's bottomed so money is not lost while holding.
I predicted that EK would drop back to the initial PPS sometime this week and it did the first day of the week! EK dropped to .65 today, back to where it was Thursday prior to the good news! Prediction correct again, :) Still think my predictions are 'weak' Jul2Jul?
That aside, due to negativity on my correct predictions (mainly from one member who should have taken my advice weeks ago when they asked for my advice), I will no longer state them publicly about this stock. I've been right on the money calling where this stock will go for months and now that it's been dropping for weeks and I've been predicting further declines for weeks and I've been correct I get criticized? Immaturity at it's finest. It's not my fault the stock is dropping and many of you are losing money; I just call it as I see it and all the drops I've been calling have been happening. You could have been making money instead of losing money if you had followed my posts. Anyway, if you'd like my predictions please feel free to private message me your email and I will be glad to communicate privately through email as I've been doing with some members already. Other than that, I will no longer post them on this board. I stated them so others could benefit from them yet I get criticized by some when they are correct? I do not wish EK to go under but many of you need to see the real trouble they are in and stop looking at the infinitesimal amount of good news headlined or found through the many sites you search. Anyway, I wish you all good luck. I could continue to diverge but I will hold back.
I of course will continue to state my opinions, news, chit-chat, etc. on the board, I will just be leaving out my predictions.
Hope everyone had a great Holiday! It was a time to relax and not worry about the market! I'm cracking open a bottle of wine tonight.
Completely sideways all day! Glad I took the later part of the afternoon off :)
Indeed, I would like it to drop slightly though so I can add. :)
Agreed. BAC has been doing pretty well.
I don't short this stock and I wouldn't call my predictions weak, search my past posts and I've called numbers. It's simple, when I know it's going to drop I wait to buy. Anyone who bought after the good news was announced at that rediculous PPS received a major loss. When you saw it jump up 20%-25% in AH did you honestly think it would hold even close to that the following day let alone perform that way through the market? That was the time to SELL NOT BUY.
That was a perfect opportunity for EK holders that had the stock PRIOR to the news/big bounce to at least make some of their money back or to have a nice profit if you entered new before the close. So then people like myself can just wait and buy in at a good PPS and know there would be some upside potential instead of 'hoping' for it. So in other words, anyone who actually bought in the AH when the PPS was rediculous lost a good amount of money. Buying and selling is all about thinking outside the box not jumping in on impulsion.
I love EK and have been in it for awhile. I don't hold it, I flip it. I don't state only negative things, I state what I believe will happen and what it will do. If I believe it will be going up, I state that. Why would I say positive things in the past few weeks when I knew it would be dropping?
Like I said to you before, if you actually listened to me the first time you asked (weeks ago) for my advice you would be in a lot better shape than you are now with all your shares averaging at $1.90. GL.
If this drops back to the solid mid .90's like it did right before the close on Friday I'll be jumping in again. I sold today for a decent profit. There's always a nice uptick when it hits low-mid 90's to have a nice sale in the $2 range. I love CLWR!
The BAC board is so quiet! Maybe if this was under $5 again we'd have a nice discussion flowing!
It's always nice to spend time with the fam and just relax and forget about the market for a little. Lay back, have a drink, and just relax relax relax!
I stated Friday EK would start losing it's gains this week if no further good news was released. Well EK's gains is already diminishing, already down almost 3%. My #2872 post was right on track :) This is too predictable! I've been calling where this stock would go for months and I've made no mistakes! LOL Come on, surprise me with something, it's too damn easy!
You too! Good luck :)
Agreed. The PPS is being chewed slowly. I had a good feeling the big gains in AH yesterday wasn't going to hold through the PRMKT today let alone through the actual bell. I'm glad I held off and didn't jump the gun and buy in high yesterday after close. What do you know, EK lost a great majority of it's gains from yesterday's AH session. EK is not holding well and it's not hard to see it. I honestly think the gains that were left from the good news will most likely be lost next week if no other good news is announced.
This will not even hit close to that amount by the end of January if the portfolio isn't sold, which I highly doubt it will be.
The news that came out yesterday is good for EK but don't get carried away, this didn't solve the real problems in the company hence the PPS to begin with. There is still a long road ahead.
Agreed. BK is still a wise move for the company. Some may not see it, but in reality it will put them on stable ground and enable them to break free of many issues they are still facing. They could sell their patents via BK auction which will give them more negotiating room and a solid sale to go with it. Or perhaps a prepackaged BK; that's of course more complicated but on the positive side, it would be beneficial to all involved. EK filing BK will knock off hundreds of millions of debt as well like you stated too.
Reuters newest report is Negative with FC 'Reduce' at .63

I don't believe a buyout will occur anytime soon, they are wrapped up in too many issues. Now that the court ruling is pushed back so far they're honestly standing on strings which will continue to drive the PPS down. It's already at a level that many investors don't want to touch considering it's close to the level where it once was when the serious BK talk was passing through the firms. I do believe that BK is still a solid option for them and I don't think they've 'ruled it out' regardless of what is stated to the press or investors.
As far as the worth of patents, it is said to be worth anywhere from 900 million to 2 billion. However, regardless of what it's claimed to be worth, it's only worth as much as a company is willing to pay and how desperate EK is needing to sell at that time. When those two are in line that is when the true worth will be visible.
If tomorrow is deep red, then EK may test the 52 WKL tomorrow. We'll see what 'news' pops out in the AM to dictate what kind of 'day' we'll be having.
Low .60's like I predicted yesterday! :)
As I stated yesterday, one bad market day will bring this to the low .60's so be cautious. EK is trading slightly above .64 and the market isn't that bad. If the market was declining more than this, EK would be at .60 right now. Another couple days of a red market, EK will be testing the 52 WKL.
