wolfrun, getting that retrace. There seems to be plenty of buying, though.
I am certain that someone will disagree with me, but, I find this report to be excellent. "An increase of 438%" compared to the 6th month period last year sounds pretty darn good. There are one time only expenses and some down time for moving. We do not even have a fully tested strat yet, so this is core business results, correct? I am certain someone will blow lots of holes in this, though, for the life of me, I cannot see how. Way to go, GTE!
Oh, and, thanks for the news, SEBASS.
mide, this would be one good reason to have a margin account, yes? I do not have one, but, I do see the advantage in terms of the box.
Also, does this mean that you expect to see the pps back under 2, perhaps close to the 1.69 again before it reaches 2.50 to 2.80? TIA.
Good point, starboy. That non-news this morning has not done much for us. The pps may yet pull-back further today until the "blockbuster news" from the meeting is revealed, if there is some. Still waiting to buy back in with the swing money though I have upped the order to 2.10. It does look as though it is rising slightly on anticipation of news. We shall see.
As my last target buy for GTE was at 1.80 and I sold at 2.35, I met the criteria (if I understand it correctly) for that sell (+25%). Now, with the retrace, would my buy-back still be at 1.89 for the +5% or have we entered a whole new ballgame since it reached greater than 25%)? Please understand, math, though one of my best subjects ONCE, has faded as a strength with this darned aging thing. I have to struggle some with it now, even the easy stuff I would have sailed through once upon a time. I know I have to wait until morning to see if it draws back further, or not. But, in setting up my goals it will help to know what I am aiming for (sorry about the syntax). TIA.
lowtrade, so sorry to make you repeat something you have already posted at least once (more likely, many times) before. I do recall you covering this subject; I was not yet interested in it as buying/selling and/or buying/selling/rebuying on the same day was not something I was doing or likely to do (not since I lost a ton of money trying to do that years ago). Now, I am very interested. It has become relevant. My hope is that someday, if all goes well, I can treat you to, at the very least, a meal of your choice in the restaurant of your choice, in the state and/or country of your choice (because, lol, I am grateful AND can actually afford to do same). Would that not be a goal worth reaching? In the meantime, staying alive and being able to eat under my own run-down roof is the current objective. :)
I only have 3 posts left today. That restriction will be one of the first things to go should I make a personal success of your system of trading! Once again, many thanks for the time, effort, and quality of your sharing. Sorry for the book effect.
Being a little slow, this is the first time I have read it through, carefully, and realized the potential for reduced stress and risk. Thank you for sharing this with us, lowtrade. It is a gift. It would help if I had more money to start with, but I don't. So, I use what I have. If successful, I will get more money to work with (it was always the plan, just has not worked out that way for 3+ bloody years). I do not have any lovely 3/4's stashed away in safe and stable stocks, unfortunately. But, maybe someday I will. Thanks once again. It is certainly worth a try. And, if I can do it with small amounts without giving too much to the boatman, then I'll be able to do it when I actually have some decent money (big assumption, but, I like to dream big).
If GTE goes to $2, I may buy back in for another swing. Looks like I am going to wait until tomorrow and see what happens. Might drop a bit more before heading back up. Or not.
Rckhnd, thanks much for the answer. That was what I thought but was not certain. I have not done that before. I do not expect this to drop below $2 today, or even this week though possibly after the mtg if there is no radically good news, but, you never know. Anything is possible. Just like to be prepared. My plan is to buy back under $2 for the next swing, whenever that happens. Have not fixed the pps yet.
what the heck is PACX doing? My LII is going crazy on the bid.eom.
I have a question. I do not have and do not want a margin account. Can I buy back today, if it hits my target, without penalty? I do not expect it to get there today, but, just if.
Thanks, Wolfrun. Just trying to apply what I have learned here so as to make some money. Not get wealthy, just make some money.
Good morning. Though it is a low target, I did get my sell for a portion at 2.35. If it goes higher I will sell more (except for the core shares). If it pulls back, will get more. We shall see. In any case, I stuck to my targets and made my 40+%. First time in a long time I have done that.
PACX appears to be dumping a large amount of shares today.eom.
Thanks, william2112. It seems like every start of a move up gets clobbered by a block of sells. Very familiar and frustrating. Time for a cold shower.
LOL, villas, I'll do my best, lol. Have a good afternoon.eom.
William2112, I am glad you are back in. Would love a chart if you have one. TIA. I think I see a possible bounce here or very soon.Only the volumn is missing.
stocktrader1, nothing goes straight up. There is some profit taking (not me yet, 'cause I missed the 2.35). It may or may not run up at eod. I have seen both happen in the past, which is why I am p/o'd for missing the run this am (and my target). But, there is a good chance that it may run up at eod. At this point, I am waiting for that as the pps is now well below my 2.35 target. Sleeping late a good trader does not make, *sigh.* You may quote me on that, lol.
kgoodrich, I did, at least for today and possibly right up to the mtg. There does not have to be any news. That's how GTE works. But, the run usually ends before the mtg, then it drops until really big news. So, it is still a crapshoot, imho. However, if I get my 2.35 (40%) for today, I'll be a happy camper. And, will still have more left to trade if it goes higher, plus the core holdings which I never touch. Just trying to make this work so I can survive without begging. The hardest part, of course, is determining the range and my TA, so far, has been less than good.
GLTA.
PACX moved in with a huge block of sells at 2.34. BTW, thanks everyone for the support. Feels like team work here. But, has not reached my order yet. :)
Thanks, mide. Wish we could know which it will be,lol. Where's that crystal ball, anyway? Looks like my 2.35 is almost here and, once again, I am not certain what to do. Think I should stick with my target and sell 1/4 to 1/2 here, then hold the rest to see what happens. Scarey business for one with small holdings and limited cash.
Hope so, villas. I stayed up too late last night watching the shuttle on Real Player (fascinating) then they cancelled anyway due to rain at Kennedy Space Center. Thought I'd catch a few winks before opening bell, *sigh* Just woke up. Nice to wake up to. I suspect that may have been "it" though. I never catch the highs. My target was 2.35 for this run. Just missed selling there.
Da**! I missed it again!eom.
Wow. Have I missed the top? Looks like a lot of selling now.
william2112, I was not bored by it. On the contrary, I really appreciate your explanations of what you are seeing and of your plays. Keep them coming, and thanks. Have a great w/e.
Oh, and Dr. Hinton, Hi, welcome back. Nice to see you here. You have a good w/e, too. In fact, here's wishing everyone a happy, healthy, and totally non-stock involved weekend. See ya all on Monday when the games begin again. Have some fun and get some rest.
Quite a lovely colour in my book. So happy to see it again.Hope it becomes very familiar.
Thanks, william2112, I see this one. eom.
