If we are just hearing about this DHS has been aware of it for months, if not longer. Once the mainstream press gets a hold of this the political churn will begin. Between this latest issue and Backscatter etc TSA really needs to get it right with the new tech, which is accounting for all these lovely delays.
We might be hearing only crickets at this point, but my money says the future is shaping up very nicely for Implant behind the scene.
So true, it's all relative to frame of reference. We "pioneer investors" have had to grind pretty damn hard all these years, the new crowd to arrive will have to endure much less pain as the highway will be paved at that point. They will be much less risk tolerant, and have longer term mindset. We will flush all the myopic out on the first real run and it will be bumpy, but after that initial turbulence it will smooth out on it's ascent. All things go as planned this will be looked at as a bargain at multiples of the current SP. Easily see them becoming a "best stock under $5-$10" in the near term based on fwd guidance. Doesn't seem fair someone could jump in now and get a triple off current levels fairly quickly, but that's the way it's going to work out. They won't be able to say they bought it at .50 either, and that's the reward we as the biggest risk takers of all will have going for us. My first batch of 50k shares cost me just $1,800 dollars in Dec 09. What will those be worth in a years time?. Same thing will happen for those buying today, won't see those type of multiples but the risk is infinitely less these days, and the SP will continue to reflect that going fwd. All IMO
Refer to post 14918. Unlike cargo, which is private sector clearly the majority of carriers are waiting till the bitter end of the life cycle to cough up for mandated tech. We know through the series of FBO releases exactly when and how many gub mint purchases will be made.. big diff.
Now that's sittin on the porch with the big dogs. We've come a long way since the Joe Salvani interview days with the Corporate profile hotties.
Almost there..can't ya just taste it?. if I were short it would be the copper taste of brute fear.
The current job listing was for sales director for Europe/Middle east/Africa, how does that correlate to a sales director of the Americas postion that was filled in spring of 2011 and replaced a year ago?. Grabbing at straws ain't gonna change the outcome here, I would think EMEA sales director would pay like a broken slot machine for hungry sales exec as it's a red hot region for scumbags.
Nice smack down on the comp, never heard him as confident with certainty.
Once we get through vetting and start booking real orders, my biggest hope at that point will be that they stay the course relative to going it alone for as long as possible. I would love to see them build it in to a 500M Mkt cap before entertaining any offers. I'm sure they know what they have here,as much as some would love to see $3 a share buyout that's a myopia fortunately limited to internet savants. My exit price has been multiples of that # for a few years now,the one thing that kept me in it from the start were the patents, and a mgmt team that cleared some seemingly insurmountable hurdles in making this about to happen. JMHO
August should be an interesting month..
I would love to be wrong B, shades of Cargo WTF perhaps. One would think the smartest of the smart would have been following the breadcrumbs on those recent FBO amendments that read like a path to grandmother's house in Wilmington and have bought at .75
Quite honestly I don't expect much off the QPL announcement. We are still on the OTC and burning fuel as it were. We still have not really had any sizeable orders to speak of the entire year, and are an old story that has faded to black a long time ago. That story still needs that big one, hasn't changed in the last four years. It was at what 1.60 last year?. I stopped getting excited about .05-.10 swings in 2010. I think we get that one big order and it forever changes the game. It will get new eyes on the company, who will do their DD, see things that we all have known about forever like American company, patent library,GSN best of breed, etc and THEN the investor base will expand exponentially. I think there's less than 3k shareholders currentely, that hasn't changed much in the last four years. We all know QPL/IDIQ is tanamount to orders, but you have to remember this is a microcap world we live in that most retail investors don't even give the time of day(for obvious reasons) IPO's like El Pollo Loco's yesterday it ain't going to be, more like a slow methodical ascent based on all the right reasons with guidance& consecutive Q's of growth..just like the big boys.
It's had a good move from the low .90's to here, just not convinced it will hold without something concrete there are a lot of people taking profits. That being said, I would love to have it base as high as possible before news for the next leg up..which will hold at that point for obvious reasons.
Encouraging, but caught this show waaay to many times. I'll do the snoopy dance for reals when they book a fat gub mint order..
Short covering?
They just picked a chef that was so fond of this restaurant he ponied up 20M just to cook for them.
So how do they build a new facility to accommodate demand without incurring more debt? How do they expand on their patent library without more debt?. All companies have debt, you shoud check out Smiths it staggering. I'll take an emerging company with evolutionary tech that can move quickly and hit hard.
Paradigm shifts in technology take time, vetting takes time, delays are bound to happen when you re write the script. The clues are in all the recent amendments to the FBO releases.
I'll be concerned when the other two start booking orders, until then I say the "delay" is due to TSA re writing and wrapping the whole ETD Enchilada around Implant tech.
The reason they will one be stop shopping for most anything ETD is because of all you just mentioned. The other two got fat and complacent after gorging on the profits in this sector for the last decade, and got caught napping(probably due to arrogance to an extent)which will prove costly, one way or another.
I shoulda known..all you have is DD and gut instinct on these sometimes. Boy it's all right there though isn't it?.
You will enjoy this,i posted it up a couple years ago.
http://www.nap.edu/openbook.php?record_id=10996&page=29
It's opened to pg 29,but IMS section starts a few pages earlier you can go back and forth for specifics but it is such a tell for the future. It was released in 2006,some real irony in there if you have held this for a few years.
With the recent overthrows of Dictators from the region it has provided for a fertile breeding ground for these assholes to ramp up. U.S. ability to monitor them has been seriously compromised, we had them on their heels the last few years but as evidenced not the case now. I think Implant patented tech will contribute in a significant way relative to threat detection going fwd. This mean ole world is getting meaner by the day.
It's been an incredibly long frustrating hold, but that doesn't mean it won't accelerate at rapid pace in the future. Going on five years holding an OTC could be construed as lotto mentality, but I haven't seen anyone else penetrate this market either in that time frame. I'm sure as hell not going anywhere at this point, much easier hold now than ever.
I agree. A few here are just looking to punch out and end the pain, they will miss the significant ascent it's best days are starting next year IMO
Yup,Dec 09.Shorts oxygen is no news, that's why they thrive here. It's interesting to watch CNN and not one of these talking heads have even mentioned the possibility of something other that a SAM took that plane down. This latest event could really send a ripple through the world markets..one would think a Major Intl carrier with a recent tragic event would avoid a war zone overflight.
Z, I've been here when it octupled in one trading day. On an aside(somewhat) they have lost contact with another Malaysian 777 over Ukraine.
Just the ebb and flow of a drifting SP without catalyst. The last move up to this level had volume, that's gone for now so the back and forth beer money resumes. I hope no one thought a PR of this size would actually move the needle,550k doesn't even cover a weeks worth of burn. Like has been stated with 99% of their sales PR's, they all needed an extra zero.
As has been mentioned ad nauseum, they really should at this point hire a proper Media company. Who cares if it adds a pittance to to the debt they are sub floor still, and need to get the word out to mainstream Wall St.
I'm sure they use something like that for demonstrative purposes at most trade shows. Why they can't sell more product with something this overwhelmingly convincing is mind boggling.
IMO shorts tapping out, as the should be. A few posts back someone listed recent short selling and it was significant, especially Fridays %.If volume preceeds price, last Monday's probably got the party started in that respect and it trended all week. Media all over the "new" airborne terror concerns, also a new month and one that could end up being a watershed one for the company could be a factor. I think those form 4's were filed after the close?
"what if something does happen and word gets out that a piece of equipment designed to prevent the exact threat they are detailing….was not deployed….because of paper work?"
Not going to happen, analogous to GM and faulty ignitions. This gub mint IS stupid and slow, think of how long some penny stock shareholders have been screaming from the mountain top for the last four freaking years because we have had the answer for all that time. Think how frustrating it's been for Implant having to play the game. Bloated, red tape, agonizingly slow movement through the belly of the Washington snake. For the umpteenth time, pure dumb luck we haven't lost more americans in this time frame.
However....I do seem to recall last fall there was an FBO release that accelerated Implant's vetting process on one of the myriad hoops " due to market conditions" which does get one scratching one's chin.
Just more confirmation how early a couple thousand shareholders were to this party, and how painfully slow change can be in Washington.
It will end up being all good.
It's been 2011 since the ink cartridge(s) incident that focus has pushed it to the front page.I have said it before, nothing grabs the media's attention by the sack like terrorism related topics. Timing couldn't be better us, or the country for that matter.
Watched it again too,it is probably the single best interview to date and should be mandatory viewing for new investors. Carter is switched on, and combined with Bill make a very compelling overview. My favorite quote from Bill made with absolute certainty,
" we are about to repeat what was done in the last generation of technology" Given his intimacy with that last gen,it speaks volumes.
Two things for sure IMO,
The visit by the AAAE CEO was equivalent to a final walk through a home buyer makes before the close of escrow(hint, contracts have been signed pending approval and recording)
Bill McGann could be Curly Howard's stunt double
The success of this company has always been tied to a TSA approval. They cannot generate any consistency in global sales regardless of whatever certifications they might(STAC comes to mind.) That being said the landscape here will change in dramatic fashion.. at one point. The biggest sale in company history was four and a half years ago. Any federal order will eclipse that amount easily, and while it won't be the end all it will introduce a lot of new shareholders to the stock. It's been in hibernation for a long time,a nice size order will wake it up. I'm not looking for any big movement till well in to 2015, but am confident based on all information available they will be a large player in the sector.
Simple, good press. Even if they gave them away the 100k it cost them in product was a drop in the bucket compared to the ROI in advertising $$. It's a shot across the bow in what's going to be a fierce fight for market share. Other carriers are seeing this PR. When was our last sales PR?
I'm not going anywhere, but these piss me off no matter how small. No problem disclosing the client either.

None taken, we all have our opinions. This thread has contained 144 subscribers for the last couple years, doubt seriously if it or the sandbox one on Yayhoo have any bearing on the SP or being pivotal to someone taking a position. I still drink the Kool-Aid, but don't subscribe to the don't rock the boat mindset. I have defended the company on here for years, still do. The funny thing is this thread would have several thousand less posts if one or two things were different. We all were IMSC apologists, or they made money.
The Cheshire cat ain't got nothing on me with a good sales PR. In the end, that's the only thing will kick this SP in the ass. We've tried everything else..
It's never bad news when you are featured on a trade cover, but they also won the GSN DHS "best of" award last fall and that did nothing for the SP. I can't imagine they are holding back PR's for some tactical advantage, doesn't make sense as they can use them as a tool to strengthen their position in the market/marketing. There would be far less bitching if they would release all PR's in a timely transparent fashion. They don't need to disclose to whom, just the amounts as we shareholders can do the math on our own relative to Q sales. That way there's no guessing on shareholders parts if they have a big fat doughnut. Personally I never bitch about even a small orders, they establish relationships that may lead to larger one's.
That's a likely scenario, it could be a small initial order, but if it's tied to a multi year contract that will get the party started.
Sure wish in the interim the would shore up their P&L sheet with some wins in other markets- nothihg short of astounding they haven't sold anything since Jan. Encouraging we only lost a penny today, big balls being short at this point, think more will tap out as we draw nearer..
