Oh yes we are. good times ahead.
Verizon is doing great this week. Keep it coming
great entry point
dont you worry, its coming back
I could never go back to terrestrial radio after getting used to the digital goodness of my sat radio
for sure
This is huge news, broke right through 33 strong today. Keep these state franchises coming and we won't need a federal one. Dare we say 40 by years end, and 50 by end of 2007?
Verizon Applauds California Senate Committee Vote in Favor of Video Choice

Energy, Utilities and Communications Committee Approves Bill That Would Open Local Cable TV Markets to Competition, Lower Prices for Consumers
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif., June 29 /PRNewswire/ -- The California Senate Committee on Energy, Utilities and Communications, under the leadership of Sen. Martha Escutia, on Thursday approved Assembly Bill 2987, which would overhaul the state's outdated cable franchising process and pave the way for new competitors such as Verizon to offer consumers a choice in video programming, better technology and lower prices. At the same time, the bill, authored by Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez and Assemblymember Lloyd Levine, chair of the Assembly Utilities and Commerce Committee, guarantees that local communities will continue to receive franchise fees consistent with those paid by incumbent cable companies. The bill has already received 77-0 approval in the Assembly. The following statement should be attributed to Verizon West Region President Tim McCallion:

"We applaud the leadership of Chairwoman Martha Escutia and her colleagues on the Energy, Utilities and Communications Committee. Their vote in favor of video franchise reform will help to bring the benefits of choice and competition to California's consumers. Cable prices have risen 86 percent over the past 10 years, according to the FCC; yet in markets in which Verizon initially launched its fiber-optic-based FiOS TV service, Bank of America found cable prices have dropped between 28 and 42 percent.
"Verizon has invested hundreds of millions of dollars in its new fiber- optic network in California, creating over 1,000 new jobs, but plans to expand the availability of FiOS TV have been delayed by inefficient local franchise negotiations that have lasted up to a year or more in some communities. The current franchising system is broken and AB2987 is the solution."

so glad I bought in when I did, we are looking great here
Great day so far today. Why the sudden rise the last few days?
I'm confident in fios. I think in a year or two we will be back near the 50's again. Fingers crossed
ha, we don't strike anymore, just take in in the ****
It is huge for verizon
don't miss the boat. they can announce a nice sub bump at any time
What do you guys think a merger would do for the stock, if the two companies had about the same amount of subs which will probably happen in 2007 I think. I think sirius can catch up next year, not sure about a merger for awhile though
Believe me, I would have like to buy in at the start of this week. I held this stock at .088 all the way down, lol. Too many times did I make a quick bump and get greedy only to watch it slip away
You guys had a great week. Take my advice and sell on your gains now, I have seen this happen so many times in the last few years with this pump and dump. Take your profits and run, please
I used to have it. I need my opie and anthony uncensored though, sorry
XM, Sirius Reflect Differing Investor Sentiments

Standard & Poor's Equity Research downgraded shares of XM Satellite Radio to "sell" from "hold" and cut the price target to $8 from $12, citing the company's recently reduced guidance.
Last week, XM (nasdaq: XMSR - news - people ) trimmed its 2006 subscriber additions estimate to 2.6 million from 3.1 million, expecting to now reach a total of 8.5 million subscribers by year end. The company reaffirmed its expectations for positive free cash flow by the fourth quarter of 2006 and for full 2007.
"We see investor confidence undermined by reduction in XM's estimate[s]," wrote analyst Tuna Amobi in a research note Wednesday.
Amobi said he is now more wary of new disclosure on retail shipment disruptions arising from the FCC's finding of non-compliance with emission limits for popular plug-and-plays SkyFi2, and Audiovox (nasdaq: VOXX - news - people ) Xpress.
The analyst also cited a pending shareholder suit and copyright suit against XM's Inno portable as reasons for the downgrade.
Meanwhile, Amobi reiterated a "strong buy" rating and $8 price target on shares of Sirius Satellite Radio (nasdaq: SIRI - news - people ).
As XM trimmed its outlook amid mounting regulatory issues, Sirius reaffirmed its 2006 target of over 2.8 million net subscriber additions to over 6.2 million by the end of 2006.
"While satellite radio seems to us vulnerable to investor sentiment, we see Sirius' shares unfairly affected by recent woes of rival XM Satellite Radio," he said.
In addition, Amobi sees senior management's confidence in the underlying business further demonstrated by chief executive officer Mel Karmazin's recent addition of 1 million Sirius shares to his 5-million holding.
What will tommorrow bring? I think we will continue to rise based on the current upgrades. XM dragged the dog down, and we are rising fast. My only regret is I didn't buy more last week at the low.
This is excellent news. confidence is high
Another great start today. So glad I bought back in last week. Up over 15 percent already. Hope this keeps up. all we need now is a nice sub announcement and we should fly
People are actually still pumping this pump and dump scam? Unbelievable
don't worry, it shouldn't be layoffs, just packages to get rid of the old timers
I hope you didn't get in.
Is this the same deal from two years ago, holy crap. Did this stock at least have any good bounces? did anybody make any money?
wow, I haven't been here for a long time, and things have not changed. Where is that criminal Martin anyway?
is he hearing downsizing rumors? We are in NY
Been away for awhile, why are we not moving up? Waiting for the fios buzz to turn into revenues?
where do you guys work? I work in COEI, we install the equipment in the central offices.
Just read you post and called XM to complain about opie and anthony being free on commercial radio and why should I pay for them now. they are the only reason I have my two XM subs.
I was able to get them to give me 3 free months off of each sub. I was paying 11 dollars per month for one sub and 8 dollars per month for the other, so I saved about 60 bucks, thanks.
thanks, up .50 cents now, this is great. I own some at 2.90, some at 3.85, some at 5.18, some at 7.15
that 7.15 sucks, but this new dip will help make that back up
over 10 percent today. got in just in time. smart move by sirius to issue this statement with the uncertaintly caused by XM's troubles. It was a great place to jump in to cost average my higher purchases
Got back in today at 3.85. Wish I had the funds yesterday at 3pm. only up from here
streaming is key to many people. I know a few who can't get the reception in their office cubicles, but their jobs don't block the sirius website. ready to get on
just refunded my account, hope I can grab some at this price before the bounce back. If we are indeed break even 4th quarter, we should be swimming in gravy.
we should be hearing another nice sub number soon. Stern streaming in june or july, many holdouts will jump aboard
I want to say this is a great buying opportunity right now. I am so tempted to buy in for some more to cost average back up on the bounce.
Is it merely XM's bad news bringing us down or something we haven't seen yet?
Are we still going to be cash flow break even by years end 2006?
What to do, what to do?
Should be a nice gapper tommorrow.
I like, I like it a lot. Time do add to my position.
Why the quick 7 percent today? Anything happen?
