Expect some news soon. :) Maybe end of the week ;)
Right, nice spread for sure. It should start increasing in value as we hear news of contracts, etc;
I do not think that investing in this company is gambling. They have a nice solution. They need to work on their marketing and contracts. I believe we have a good investment here for those that own a position.
I hope that is not the case. This solution is a good one. I hope that they do get some exposure with their solution in a positive way though.
This is interesting

Solution to Attacks on School Campuses Developed
By: Rodney Marvel | Posted: 30-06-2008
Fairfield, NJ - June 25, 2008 – In the light of recent college and high school tragedies, there has been an ongoing rush to develop new methods that quickly and efficiently alert and contact students, parents and faculty. One company, Virtual Ed Link, Inc. (VRED), has developed an amazing communication and crisis preparedness system called the School Safety Management System (SSMS). This system has the ability to both simplify life for teachers or parents and more importantly, to facilitate the protection of our children from the chaos of our modern world.
According to the National Education Association (NEA), three kinds of parental involvement at home are consistently associated with higher student achievement: actively organizing and monitoring a child's time, helping with homework and discussing school matters. Increased parental involvement improves a student's education, reduces absenteeism and improves behavior. With Virtual Ed Link's SSMS, schools can inform parents of school activities, announcements and current events. The benefits are supported by the Harvard Family Research Project, which found that schools should adapt strategies to enhance parental engagement in the education of their children.
The School Improvement Research Series (SIRS) study shows that parent involvement in children's learning is positively related to achievement, attitude and social behavior. If parents receive phone calls, read and sign written communication from the school, and attend parent-teacher conferences, the education of their children is improved. With SSMS, school personnel can schedule and create custom messages for parents of all students or smaller, more specific groups, ensuring timely, accurate communication in the format and sent to devices that parents prefer.
Accurate and split second communication are a high priority when it concerns the health and well-being of students. It goes without saying that today's schools are much more vulnerable to seemingly random acts of violence and catastrophe. It has become such an epidemic that colleges and universities all over the nation have petitioned the U.S. Government for funding to update their outdated security systems and procedures.
Virtual Ed Link is poised to provide solutions to the country's campus security shortcomings by providing the most comprehensive, web-based communication and crisis preparedness system available today that no other solution can currently equal.
Virtual Ed Link, Inc., based in Fairfield, New Jersey, is a subsidiary of Viyya Technologies, Inc. and publicly traded under the symbol VRED. The company was established on June 18, 2007 in response to the tragedy at Virginia Tech. The executive team, with an understanding of the power of the Viyya Information Portal, redesigned it, customized it, and geared its strengths to planning, teaching, training, and emergency communication. Since the company's inception, a transparent effort has been made to build VRED on a strong foundation of solid management, with wide-ranging backgrounds in law enforcement, communications, technology, and education.
“Our team here at VRED has developed a one-of-a-kind product that has the potential to make our children safe. The goal of our technology has always been to provide students, and teachers, with an environment conducive to learning and not one where fear is the daily norm. The School Safety Management System also has the ability to simplify the lives of parents, while increasing their involvement in their child's education and everyday life,” stated John Bay, Chief Executive Officer of Virtual Ed Link, Inc.
The company is currently demonstrating its School Safety Management System to high schools and institutions of higher learning throughout the United States. If you would like to learn more about the company and its revolutionary communication and crisis preparedness system, please visit the company's website at www.virtualedlink.org. Any schools that are interested in a demonstration of the SSMS are encouraged to contact VRED at (973)276-0555 to speak with a company representative.

State Funding Available to Schools for VELI's School Safety and Security System
FAIRFIELD, NJ--(MARKET WIRE)--Feb 20, 2008 -- Virtual Ed Link Inc. (Other OTC:VRED.PK - News), the developer and marketer of the leading edge technology platform for VELI's School Safety Management System (SSMS), announced today that it has gained placement in BOCES, the New York state aided procurement program.
BOCES (Board of Cooperative Educational Services) in New York State qualifies vendors in the CoSer (Cooperative Services Agreements) program as a service to the more than 600 school districts in the state which spend over $5 billion annually on goods and services for the school systems. Over 80% of New York schools use BOCES to purchase Information Technology services which represents the VELI category. The acceptance of Virtual Ed Link in the BOCES CoSer contract program is a testament to the reputation VELI has earned for implementing its comprehensive solution on time and on budget.
CEO John Bay stated: "Securing this approval is a significant step for both us and schools concerned about bolstering their security measures. Qualifying schools can now easily channel state funds toward establishing the VELI solution at their respective campuses."
South Colonie is one of the school campuses in which the VELI System is in the final project delivery phase. Michael Marcelle, Superintendent of Schools for South Colonie Central School District in Upstate New York, said: "Our confidence in the VELI staff and solution is unlimited. We've found they deliver what they promise!"
Virtual Ed Link has made significant progress since our inception. The demand for VELI's life-saving product continues to grow at an accelerated rate that we did not anticipate. Virtual Ed Link's focus is to establish our SSMS as the standard for school safety. At this time we feel it is prudent to raise our 2008 revenue forecast from $3 million to $4-6 million.

I agree. They need contracts to lead to revenue. The marketing effort is ongoing from what I understand.
Great post. I am a bit more optimistic on the stock price though in a year. I am thinking .50-.65
I bought more today.
A full article below. I believe that the management team is working to expand this young company's client base. Most schools will not be able to get grants, etc unless they have some type of safety management system.

The market in general is weak most likely on oil fears yet again.
