4, 22, 24 please
OK, Hicks got me at hello! I am taking him for Frazier this week!
Well, I do not want another challenge darn it! I cannot catch a break this year, but somehow still have a shot at the playoffs? Going to have to dump him and see if there is a 2 start pitcher that can help me win next week.
I cannot catch a break this year! Now Paxton back on DL with strained Lat!
Calling him up to watch Walker play 1st? :>
He has been hitting over 100 on a regular basis during his starts this year. Maybe not 105, but even upper 90's and developing his other pitches, Kopech is on track to be a huge stud.
In the meantime, A STAR IS BORN tonight! Moncada hits HR to tie the game in the 9th, then walk off single in the 11th! Only issue for me is after sweeping the Astros, they are winning too many games now! Not looking good to get #1 Pick!
IT is so nice to be a White Sox fan right now! I love the way they are approaching their rebuild and what Hahn has been able to get for his assets! I know you have an issue with Rutherford, but he sees that kid as having a huge upside as his swing is developed and actually said he intentionally targeted the kid.
As for the Sale trade, it could go down in history as one of the best if Kopech continues to develop. That kid has the "POTENTIAL" to be a top 3 pitcher in all of baseball within the next three years. Of course, just potential for now, but he definitely has a WOW factor about him right now. Moncada is looking every bit the stud too! Yes, he has had some growing pains while learning the ropes and the BA sits just below .200, but even with that low BA, he has a stellar OBP of .366! Just imagine what that will look like when he is up to .280? Of course, we have a couple of lower level players too that could develop.
Other trades were exciting as well. He was able to get real, almost MLB ready talent for pitching reclamation projects like Jennings and Swarzack, not to mention the Eaton trade. So much fun to watch and help dream about the future!
Yep! I personally have grown tired of The NBA and only really watch College Basketball now, but The Chicago Bulls are another team that is a complete comedy of errors! They could give The Mets a run for their money in the total dysfunction category and as I no longer give a hoot about the NBA, I can just sit back and laugh at that too!
I am sorry, but actually burst out laughing when I saw that news and knowing how you would react!!! :>
LLLLLOOOOOOLLLLLL!!!! The Mets made their corresponding roster move after the Bruce Trade! Anyone within driving distance to SSKILLZ, please get there and make sure he has no sharp objects around!!!!
If it is truly an Oblique, which there is not reason to believe it is not, as The Yankees could have sent Frazier down without issue to reinstate Hicks, he is probably down until at least Mid September, which probably means for the year(The one caveat is since he went on ML DL he would be eligible for post season). I have had numerous oblique injuries this year on my team, so getting pretty good at the timelines. In fact, I am considering renaming my team, "The Oblique Agony"!
Yes, your GM needs to go. What this appears to be is he did not want to help the Yankees win this year, so he passed up on better opportunities to build The Mets future! That is what Chicago papers kept saying about Hahn and my Sox until Hahn pulled the trigger on the Quintana trade and was able to bring back a very nice haul from The Cubbies. In fact, many now believe that Jimmenez may be up by this time next year and Dylan Cease may very well pass up Fulmer to have an eventual spot in our rotation, with Fulmer possibly being moved towards the bullpen. All because our GM was willing to make the crosstown trade.
OK, what are your thoughts on Hicks? Do you expect him to resume his everyday role? Frazier got put on the DL with an Oblique and Hicks was reinstated from the DL this AM. Going to hurt me rest of this week, but I still have a shot to win the week.
Good news is, Hicks had been dropped when he was on the DL, probably because of Frazier's hot start, so he is available and I have the 1st pick this week. Thinking of grabbing Hicks for Frazier. Of course, someone else may pop up by Sunday, but if Hicks is getting everyday at bats and back to how he was before his DL stint, probably a good pick up for the stretch run.
My pick up of Hoskins instead of Smith is not looking bad now! Hoskins being called up by Philly today with the organization promising to give everyday at bats splitting time between LF and 1B! As long as he produces, he will play according to them. Smith? Still in AAA??????
This move could actually screw me. Just as Santana started playing to his expected level, he could find himself in a timeshare once Brantley is back. That said, I guess I could pick up Smith if your GM would just call him up and play him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So far I have not even seen a whisper about a Dom call-up.
It does not seem like there is much to fix with this guy and not sure if I would have confidence in your GM. I would have more in White Sox Hahn knowing that he has The Pitcher Whisperer in Don Cooper to possibly fix pitchers up. Heck, even Tyler Clippard is looking halfway decent again! You could say he was making room for Dom Smith, but you gots to get more for Jay Bruce IMHO.
Did your GM blunder again? Not seeing much in the guy he got for Bruce? Almost think it would have been better to keep Bruce and take the 2nd round sandwich pick if he turned down FA offer? Now for Granderson, the return would have been better.
Miguel at 7 IP, 4H, 1BB, 4KO shutout still going at 86 pitches. Really hoping Renteria pulls him now! After this performance, some contender should be willing to give a couple of lower prospects for him!
Miguel Gonzalez having yet another very good game tonight with scouts filling the scout seats behind home plate! Aside from the blowup vs. BoSox last week, he has been pretty much lights out since coming off DL in Mid July. Shutting out the vaunted Astros O tonight thru 6! I would venture to say this may raise the eyebrows of at least a couple contenders!
Yep, players not announced yet, but according to MLB Network, the deal is done.
Poor guy has tons of talent, but keeps getting hit with injuries and things like tonight!
Poor Ordozzi! He cannot catch a break!
Clint Frazier out with "tight" oblique tonight????? Not good time at all for the kid!
Cardinals are on absolute fire as of late. They are a team to be reckoned with for The Cubs. Plenty of players on that team know how to win. As for Brewers, not so sure about them down the stretch.
Brewers are not going away and now The Cubs have three games in AZ this weekend. If Contreras is gone for an extended period, they could quickly find themselves 4-5 back again. St. Louis is also finally on track and not far behind.
Cubbies in trouble! Contreras looks to have possibly suffered an extreme hammy injury late today. He has been their best hitter for the past two weeks.
I would give you Holland, but want $2.13 for him!
While I know Rosario is not seeing shifts, I have to assume there are still opportunities for him to try to bunt for base hits. He has incredible speed, so he should be trying that at least once/game.
Yep, he needs to take a deep breath and relax. Think he is pressing too hard to prove he belongs there.
He was hitting the minor league off speed pitches better this year, but MLB stuff still presenting some issues. Still, his command of the strike zone tells me it is just a matter of time. Having that command, as he learns how to hit as a MLB Player, he will work himself plenty of fastball counts to make a difference. In the meantime, he is young and needs to work on reading pitches and understanding how to predict depending on the situation.
I love our new rookie Nicky Delmonico! By new means a top prospect, but a lively bat and a very smart player. He now has two bunt singles leading off innings in the past two games. He sees the shift and just drops the ball down the 3B line and takes his base! Never could understand why more players are not smart enough to do this. Unless they are in a must HR situation, the name of the game is getting on base and this kid knows it!
I have not watched him closely, just been seeing very little production from him on my fantasy team. On the flip side, Moncada also strikes out a lot, but also has shown an incredible feel for the Strike Zone. Twice tonight he has gone from 1-2 counts to walks. With him, it is clear he just over swings on occasion, so not worried at all about him long term.
Looks like Happ is killing it across the board tonight though.
Darn Clint Frazier is trying to make it easy to give Hicks playing time?????
Well, by World Series time, the BTS contest will be over, so he may not feel as much pressure to help keep our streaks going? :?
As I said, ALtuve is great, but cannot seem to handle the pressure of extending my longer streaks, so I will stop picking him after 10 games!
Not only that, but we have a couple of really potentially exciting ones this year that our local media is still criticizing Pace over drafting because they were not Div 1 players. We have a man-child TE in Adam Shaheen that may very well be the next Gronk. Pace is getting skewered for taking him in the 2nd round, yet all he has done since getting to OTA's is make circus catches and make the LB's and DB's look defenseless. Then we have a little guy in Tarik Cohen whom we got in the 4th round who is also from the lower college divisions. His nickname is "The Human Joystick" and he has been running circles around people so far. The say his 5Foot6 listing is generous.
Of course, we also have Trubisky, but the hope is we do not see him after Pre-season this year and Eddie Jackson from Alabama, but the two above will be the entertainment, along with UDFA WR Tanner Gentry that set all kinds of records at Wyoming, but ran slow times in his pro day. Word is on the practice field that he has not missed a ball that has been within three feet of him.
I pledge that I will only pick Altuve when my streak is under 10! He seems to not be able to handle the pressure of extending my longer streaks!
Does not matter what The Cubs are paying him, he is showing that he is clearly over the hill. Age has caught up with him. The Cubs being in a pennant race should not be divvying up playing time based on how much each player is getting paid.
