Apologies if this was already posted.
These guys are no joke. They are involved with the Dirty Love campaign, as posted previously:
http://www.specialopsmedia.com/
Look at the two recent films they are promoting, Broken Flowers and The Aristocrats. When I turn on the TV, I see ads for both lately. They seem to know how to run a targeted and saturated campaign for their clients. If they do this for us, we will do well in the marketplace. Can't wait for September.
First sighting of Dirty Love theatrical poster (that I've seen, anyway). Plus a positive hopeful mention at JoBlo.com, a popular movie site:
http://www.joblo.com/index.php?id=8323
Cat, I like that number too!
It's hard to predict where we will go here, but in trying to do so I looked for other publicly traded small movie companies. They are hard to find, the business is pretty dog-eat-dog I guess, but for fun I looked at Artisan Entertainment. About 10 years ago now, Artisan was looking to IPO. They were to offer 6M shares at $16ps. This would put them at about a $96M market cap. The IPO was eventually cancelled and they were bought buy Lion's Gate, so we'll never know. If BSEG acheived that cap with its 25M shares, that puts BSEG in the neighborhood of $3.84 per share.
Now Artisan had a big hit film (Blair Witch) and a library of lesser known films, so I know it's apples and oranges, but it's hard to find start-up public movie companies to compare. It was also almost 10 years ago now. 10 years ago movie companies were just mapping out the distribution channels for saturated DVD sales that today are considered as or more important to their bottom line as the revenue from the theatrical run. Netflix was just starting to hit, too. BSEG and other modern day companies today have the benefit of all that 10 years of distribution trial and error by the studios. BSEG may also have a couple of films that, while not blockbusters, may do moderately well and add up in the end, especially in DVD rentals and sales. So if BSEG catches a wave, that price could happen! Just IMO.
Would love to hear where anyone believes this stock could go, and why. Are there any other similar companies to compare it with, perhaps more recent? Either way, I think we all believe it has a nice rise in the not too distant future. It's up again today!
Cheers!

A little digging while we wait, just for fun.
WhoIs lookup on dirtylovefilm.com brings up the registrant as:

SpecialOpsMedia.com takes you to a NYC marketing and publicity firm website, where you can see a list of their clients. One of them is, you guessed it, First Look Pictures:

So it looks like dirtylovefilm.com will be the promo site for DL, and we can hope to see it come online as the September 23 release date nears. Cool!
Looks like First Look is prepping for the DVD release too.

we have a US distributor named for DL according to this:
http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/050802/latu074.html?.v=18
"First Look Media, in business now for twenty-five years with a library of over 400 titles, has recently been known for its fast growing U.S. video/DVD distribution operation, its highly respected international sales operations, its ability to access and structure production financing and for releasing films theatrically in the U.S. The company recently entered into a distribution joint venture with DEJ (a wholly owned subsidiary of Blockbuster), has had such previous successes as "Waking Ned Devine," "The Prophecy," John Sayles "The Secret of Roan Inish," and "Chopper"; is currently in post production with Wes Craven's "The Breed" and is releasing Jenny McCarthy's "Dirty Love" theatrically in September."
Up today. Hopefully the start of the long, steady rise to profitability...dare I think it?
Carriers? I have Comcast, but no Q obviously. I thought you meant Q was covering something here today. I misunderstood your earlier post.
Oh, it's taped. I see. I'm in Oakland right now; I was going to go find them and get on TV, lol. Missed the pride events unfortunately.

Burt Reynolds and Raquel Welch Film ''Forget About It'' Settles Legal Disputes
Monday July 25, 10:10 am ET
HOLLYWOOD--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 25, 2005--Big Screen Entertainment (OTC:BSEG - News) announces a resolution has been reached with Michael Paloma and Red Rock Entertainment regarding the feature film, "Forget About It." BSEG and Red Rock have now resolved all legal disputes involving both companies.
Founder and former CEO, Producer/Director BJ Davis, has worked close with BSEG President Kimberley Kates to stabilize the company for its investors and film properties. Davis stated, "Since all legal disputes have now been resolved, 'Forget About It' is now unfettered and ready for worldwide release."
"Forget About It," a feature film starring Academy Award nominee Burt Reynolds and Raquel Welch, reuniting the two stars after a thirty year hiatus, has been likened to "Grumpy Old Men" and "Analyze This." "Grumpy Old Men" grossed $200 million worldwide, while "Analyze This" did $177 million in sales. Davis stated, "I expect 'Forget About It' to be a strong competitor in all media markets and has an unlimited potential for being a box office success." Burt Reynolds' recent success with Paramount Studios' "The Longest Yard" and the highly anticipated, "Dukes of Hazzard" will highlight the September 2005 release of "Forget About It."
CEO Kates commented, "Our sole focus now is the delivery of film and television productions as commercial properties that will solidify the growth, development and viability of BSEG."
BSEG is preparing for the American Film Market in November, where the company will sell and exhibit its production lineup which includes the supernatural thriller, "Angel's Blood," and "Tow Truck" from the horror genre, a thrilling murder mystery entitled "The Mirror" and the pulp, crime drama, "Tool Girls."
Other completed BSEG projects slated for 2005 release are the films "Dirty Love" co-produced with DoubleDown Entertainment and "Lightfield's Home Video" with Giovanni Ribisi, Cuba Gooding, Jr. and Juliette Lewis.

Any chance these numbers could bring the pps back up to recent highs? I'm in at .015
I was probably the last one to buy in there before the recent slump, lol.
cool, thanks. eom
Nice pics. Question, does RCN menu display us as QTN or QTV like this TW menu? It's a small thing, but we've just barely started our branding and consistency on all carriers will help that process IMO. Cheers.
I keep checking the Q website's "Subscribe" tab to see if they add TW to it. Part of me hopes they haven't done so yet because they anticipate adding a general "TW Customers" section soon, instead of just a "TW - Maine Only" section. (Although I'll happily take Maine if that's it for now.) A milestone day, happy to have held out to see it. Pps not withstanding of course, but that will follow.
Article mentions QTN. Sorry if it's a repeat:
http://www.sovo.com/2005/7-22/arts/feature/hearts.cfm
It'd be nice to see the TW logo and RCN logo on the website, although the new design seems to eschew logos even from our sponsors. But it'll be nice to see TW added to the "Subscribe" tab on the Q site any way. Wonder when they'll add it.
Good day for us. Here's to more like it!
Here's hoping this is the start of rapid-fire similar announcements. Fingers crossed!
Showing up at CTAM with a major carrier under their belt might break the ice for others attending...

"Actor's role no shot in dark

HERALD NEWS
LODI - Phil Amato is half actor, half philosopher. With a budding career in the entertainment industry, Amato uses what he calls the "triangle to success" to get ahead: Persistence, determination and ambition.
"I've rested on those three qualities all my life and live by that philosophy to this day," said Amato, 27, a lifelong borough resident.
Last year, Amato finished shooting "Forget About It," an action movie starring Burt Reynolds, Raquel Welch and Phyllis Diller, due for release in September.
He said working on the film was one of the most memorable experiences of his life.
"I was the youngest guy on the set, I was the newest face on the set, and I was working with some of the biggest names in Hollywood on a feature film," he said. "It was mind-boggling up to the very last day."
The movie follows mobsters who rob a bank in Hoboken and flee to a senior community in Arizona. The cash, buried at a golf course, is discovered by some locals, who tell everyone they won the lottery and go on an extravagant shopping spree. The action turns to comedy as the mobsters attempt to get their money back. Amato plays a self-proclaimed bad boy and Soprano-style Mafioso.
"We thought he'd fit into our picture well. He has an appeal," said BJ Davis, producer and director of "Forget About It." "Phil is a very sweet person and the camera likes him. He just needs more of an opportunity to showcase his talent. I think he has a real chance to become a celebrity and reach star status."
But the Robert De Niro fan admits that acting is not all fun and games.
"It's a 24-hour-a-day job. It's costly and it's a big gamble," said Amato. "The hardest part is rebounding from rejections. You just have to swallow it and move on with confidence."
Amato has faced his share of rejection. In addition to a few small movie roles, he had been working on a pilot for a TV show called "Top Shelf."
The show, originally titled "Living It Up," is a reality-based program that would focus on nightlife and culture in the tri-state area. Amato had been working on developing the show for several years, but it was turned down by several networks.
He said that he's pretty much given up on the project, but he snatched victory from the jaws of defeat anyway.
"I made some connections and met some really great people," Amato said. "That's how I ended up landing the role in the movie."

There will be a publicity blitz mid August or so."
From BIG SCREEN Company Website Today, FYI, for those of you who don't frequent it:
Hi all - Some of you send us questions that we are not able to answer on this Forum as we are limited to making sure we do not cross any lines with any information and your questions ask for specifics which we can only release in PR's.
As far as our films releases go, please see the press releases. Here is some info from the press releases if you haven't read them: Dirty Love is tentatively scheduled for a theatrical release at the end of September. Foreign sales have been underway for several months with Wild Bunch handling all foreign sales. It's doing well. Domestic distribution deal is in place and it is only a matter of waiting for lawyers to wrap up this deal so we can announce. All the advertising and marketing is being worked on and almost ready to go.
Forget About It is scheduled to be delivered in September as well. We will be able to announce more specific information as deals are solidified.
Lightfield's Home Videos is looking fantastic. It's a wonderful story with the biggest cast of actors of any of our projects.
Something that just hit my mailbox. Apologies if it's a repeat.

McCARTHY DITCHES NO-NUDITY CLAUSE FOR NEW FILM
http://www.contactmusic.com/new/xmlfeed.nsf/mndwebpages/mccarthy%20ditches%20nonudity%20clause%20for...
Actress JENNY McCARTHY has ditched her movie no-nudity clause to boost international interest in her new film DIRTY LOVE.
The SCREAM 3 star makes her screenplay writing debut and stars in the saucy comedy, which is directed by her husband JOHN ASHER, and she was determined to go all out to make the project a hit.
The new mum admits losing her baby weight and looking "hot" again was another major incentive to showing a little flesh in the film, which also stars CARMEN ELECTRA.
The former PLAYBOY pin-up says, "After weighing 200 pounds when I was pregnant, I wanted to show off my s**t. I realised, 'You know what? I love being hot.'
"One day on the set I said, 'John, I've been thinking about foreign sales, and there needs to be some t*ts... But I don't want it to be gratuitous. There has to be a laugh behind it.'
"So I said to Carmen before filming started, 'Listen, my boob's going to fall out in this scene and I want you to say, 'Girl, your big ol' t**ty's hanging out.'"
After shooting the scene, McCarthy admits she's game for almost anything: "I'll do anything as long as it doesn't make people vomit."

I just emailed the Mayor's office in my city about Comcast's charter, lol. Will see what they say about charters and renewals, and what Comcasts's specific responsibilities are to the community. We'll see by their response (if any) who's got who around their finger, and if there's still a chance for this type of pressure to do anything. When we pressured the cable company in Jersey it was a long time ago and they weren't as strong as they are now. They may have the politicians in their hip pockets these days, who knows. But it's worth finding out. Will report what I hear back, if anything.
Happy Fourth, everyone.
Well I just sent my (latest) bitchy email to Comcast in my area as per the article. I threw in a new twist this time, that if they would not begin reflecting the community they service (SF Bay Area) more adequately I would introduce the notion at open City Council meetings that they were not meeting the requirements of their charter, and that their charter be revoked and given to another company. Whistling down the wind, perhaps, but I do recall when I lived in Jersey that the cable company promised our township a lot of stuff to grant them the charter, among them a local government access channel and also an educational access channel for the school system. When they dragged their feet on the latter, the idea of revoking their charter was introduced on those grounds...suddenly they "found" the bandwidth and a month later and we had our Educational Access channel. Use the words "revoke" and "charter" when you email your cable company. That's the only language they understand. If you know how to get word of your support for QTN to whoever in your area deals with the cable provider charter (usually the Mayor's Office) you might contact them as well. That's where these issues are raised in a proper forum that the companies actually have to answer to. Cheers.
Anybody know what ever happened with Logo's claim that "we're confident we'll have Comcast with us at launch"? I haven't kept up with it. Does anyone know if they're on Comcast anywhere? I wanna check out our competition. TIA.
In addition to "other avenues"...I was against the vod idea just on the basis that Frank thought it wasn't the way to go and I have to trust him; this is his biz and he must know better than I do...however, if after this huge Pride season push there is no break in the carriers, I would say it is possibly time to think about it. A lot of folks feel strongly that VOD is the future (not the pod thing, but straight VOD like here! has) and if there is no break soon we have to consider it as another tool in the war chest. NOT because there isn't enough interest for linear...there is tons of interest from the community or else Logo would not be launching. But purely because it would then be clear that the carriers are stonewalling us. They are dinosaurs from another time, apparently, but they do hold the keys to the kingdom unfortunately. (What did one of them reportedly say? "There are no gays here?" LOL!) The question is, if Q goes VOD, can it sustain and promote itself there long enough while VOD becomes the huge new common paradigm that people are saying it will become soon, so that it can bring in the numbers. If Q can figure that out, then it is no different at that point than being scrambled and on linear carriage, once the audience "subscribes" to it via VOD. VOD will then just become a quick do-it-yourself way of subscribing. Instead of a phone call, you use your remote. What's the diff? (Except that people aren't used to it yet.) But Frank needs to be able to promote it on VOD at that point, and since that's all new to him he may not be comfortable jumping in to the new model. I can't blame him since it's not quite there yet, and I'm comfortable for now following his lead. But I hope he has experts on board that can promote Q, no matter what avenue of carriage he eventually accepts. That promotional knowledge will be crucial if the time ever comes to take a stab at VOD, and much preferable to just drying up and blowing away again. No one wants to see that, I'm sure. I'm going to trust Frank has surrounded himself with the people who know when it's time to bust a move, if it comes down to the wire. Until then, it is a real nail-biter. (But a fun one.) I know with VOD our pps jump upon an announcement won't make me rich overnight, and may be another long slow difficult climb. But it is just another tool. I'd rather see him exhaust every tool before failing. Failure is not an option at this point, and Q knows it as we do. But for now, I'm okay with waiting so long as Frank says he has the funding to do so.
JUST IMO. Thanks.
(I didn't mean for this to be so long SORRY!)
Another new FAI trailer on website, plus Entertainment Tonight story on the film.
From what I can find on the web, the Gay Pride Parade in SF is held the last Sunday in June, which is next Sunday and synchs up with QTN's visitation to the Castro area...but have we gotten any other info on where they are setting up beginning tomorrow night? Will the Q float be there next Sunday? Or are we expecting a PR tomorrow with all this? I'm off work all week and could possibly shoot into the City and take pix at least one day this week. Anyone know anything yet? Cheers.
Q logo clearly visible on the wall of sponsors behind the speaker on that webpage. Thanks for the link!

'Forget About It' with Burt Reynolds and Raquel Welch Set for September Release by Big Screen Entertainment
Wednesday June 15, 1:56 pm ET
HOLLYWOOD--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 15, 2005--Big Screen Entertainment Group (OTC: BSEG - News) and Producer/Director BJ Davis are currently wrapping up post production on the comedy adventure "Forget About It," set to be delivered after the studio summer releases and prior to the majors during the holiday season. The film has been compared to "Something's Gotta Give," that starred Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton, by Entertainment Tonight. BSEG's picture will reunite Burt Reynolds and Raquel Welch onscreen, 30 years since their last co-starring roles.
Company CEO Kimberley Kates and Davis will be on location in the coming weeks to do establishing shots for the opening titles of the film in Hoboken, N.J., and New York City, as well as shooting additional footage and re-voicing an actor. They have unified their efforts to deliver the production in order to protect the investors in this publicly traded company, while anticipating significant commercial success of this feature film. "Mr. Davis and I are working hard to expedite the release of FAI and want to let the shareholders know that nothing will hinder our progress in completing this project," said Kates.
Furthermore, Kates stated that the company is proceeding on schedule and that her commitment to its investors and properties is steadfast. Kates and Davis assert that any action taken against the company is without merit and purely frivolous. BSEG's board of directors and Davis issued the following statement: "Reckless actions against the company and its films will be no longer tolerated by any individual or opposing entity."
Preparations are underway for the film's premieres in Los Angeles, New York, Phoenix, and Hoboken.
In addition, Double Down Entertainment and BSEG's co-production, "Dirty Love" with Jenny McCarthy, Carmen Electra and Eddie Kaye Thomas, is also set for a fall 2005 release. The company is also in the final stages of post production for the upcoming release of "Lightfield's Home Videos" starring Juliette Lewis, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Giovanni Ribisi, to name a few.
On the publishing front, BJ Davis is finalizing his autobiography, "Confessions of a Hollywood Stuntman," that will be in book stores later this year and offers a tell-all, insider's look into the Hollywood film world.
BSEG and Davis are looking forward to the commercial success of Big Screen's upcoming productions and delivering "Forget About It" to international and domestic buyers.
