Interesting, where did you see that? And when did they buy?
Well said, couldn't agree more. This is why I've been sticking it out. Granted, I'm not in this for so many years like many of you, but when it shot up to the .60s, I could have gotten out and made a few bucks. But, when you decide to make a long term investment, you can't be looking short sited on a quick buck. You need to be able to keep holding it so when it DOES make it, you'll reap the rewards of that investment.
In fact, when it went back down again, I bought more. Like many others have. I know its at the bottom and its just going to keep going up. Have to give it time.
rock on
Watts,
Thanks for all the info and input. Sorry, I can't PM you back, I'm still on a "free" account.
I agree with what you're saying. Excellent points and ideas.
We definitely need to get everything close together, will make a lot more sense (financially) and easy to go back and forth. It's also a good idea to consolidate offices and save money on that front. Bay area is expensive, but at the same time, why do you need an office where they are located in the first place (LQMT). Bay area is home of the silicon valley. What better place to get out the technology than the birth of the huge push of technology years ago.
yeah, I know, it makes sense...and we can't have that
thanks Watts! That means a lot!
I was not aware he had places near APPL. That's very good to know and perhaps a coincidence? I'm from the bay area and still have family that live in Cupertino
Ya, I have a feeling that IF it's apple, they sent them a nasty "cease and desist" letter and made them bring down their site. I've seen it happen a few times in the past.
We don't know for sure as I'm thinking no one is going to say anything until AFTER next week (if anything is said at all)
I must say, out of all the "rumor" links, messages, etc, this one does have me a little more excited.
As everyone mentions, no revenues, profits, etc from apple using it. They are going to make it themselves and put it in their tech
However, it will be huge publicity.
I understand Watts is looking for Sales. Here is the thing with this advertising and publicity.
If you had only 10 to 20 possible clients, and you are down to 4 of them. Of those 4, 1 didn't like the prototype. You now have the 3 to work with.
Well, with this being used and tested by Apple, it will increase the possibilities greatly
I'm assuming it will go from 10 to 20 possible leads, to 1000 to 2000 leads. If LQMT can manage to not F up most of those leads, even a small percentage, is HUGE.
Hypothetically, lets say its only 1000 new leads. Of those, if you land just a small 10%, that's 100 clients. If 25% of those clients didn't like it, that still leaves us with 75 clients.
So numbers don't lie. You have 3 customers...and now you have 75 customers. Thanks to Visser production company, we can now fill those 75 customer orders. Now we have monster revenues, and then profits
Remember, I'm being very conservative with the numbers. They could be less, or more. If you have a great company, you will land more than 10% of your leads. Imagine if they land 50% or more of the leads. Visser is going to be busy as hell trying to bring up new plants to produce for customers. You may be looking on back orders, product in HIGH demand, and driving up price even more.
In a perfect world that is
Fun to dream...and I like to dream and hold on long
Most likely 3 things
#1. It got hammered from the iphone5 video that it leaked and couldn't handle the bandwidth
#2. Someone decided to attack it and bog it down
#3. The video was legit and apple laid the smack down on the company and their web site, so they took it down.
If it's #3, then we are in for a fun ride next week as that is the best proof of possible actual iphone 5 video/pictures, and more evidence of liquid metal being used
However, I'm going with #1 on this (with a hopeful #3)
My comment, and theory on this, was something I also posted this week. After listening to the conf call, it also reassured me what I thought was true. Which is, Tom was confident and didn't mind mentioning the ASHM in late June.
This is because of the announcement next week that liquid metal will be used somewhere. It could be used in several devices, or just 1. Either way, he probably has a good idea it will help jump things for the company. That being said, it would mean he would want people to come to the ASHM because he would know everyone would be happy with that announcement. Going forward it will open more doors and sales are just around the corner. lining everything up for even more revenues and the big enchilada, PROFITS.
Yes, that's a ways yet, but he seems to want to have people come out and have positive news for everyone
we will definitely know for sure soon enough
I know others have been sharing the same videos, but here is one with comments by the people at zdnet
http://www.zdnet.com/blog/hardware/possible-iphone-5-chassis-appears-on-video/20699?tag=search-results-rivers;item0
They go as far as also say it appears to be liquid metal.
As usual, excellent and detailed analysis.
I've been replaying it many times as well. I'm trying to tell myself it is NOT liquid metal and something else. I'm finding everything I can to point to something else. Before I can say it is, I want to be on the other said and disprove that it is liquid metal.
Everything I come up with, doesn't work. I'm still going to doubt it until its announced, but I'm doing a horrible job on disproving it being anything but liquid metal.
doesn't seem to be helping, all it's doing it trashing the stock down. thought those things were supposed to help shoot it up 100 to 200% or whatever they say. haha
yeah, this is just annoying more than anything. Should be back at the .35 to .37 range like it was earlier in the week. Not sure who and why people are selling out quick. My only guess is to further dump it lower to get back in, so it will go way up next week. Just hype on the Apple crap will make it spike, and once again they will dump. what a pain in the butt when they keep doing it. doesn't help anyone
if you're in it for the long, you try not to look at it every day because it will bounce all over. It could jump back up to .34 at close again, seen it happen yesterday. Makes you want to sleep these people sometimes though
Anyone heard anymore on apple? HAHAHAHA
*shakes head*
On a serious note, and hopefully this post won't get removed as well, but I thought the call went well. They explained everything, very slowly, so everyone can understand where everything is going.
I understand that they want to reassure everyone that they have funding until the end of 2012. But, at the same time, don't make it sound like you are still struggling to find funding for the future.
I'm already convinced we'll be fine, thanks to Visser and being able to push this past the hump. We'll get things into production, shipped out, and revenues will be seen. Profits are not too far behind.
Good news is, he sounds very calm and confident on this call. He is also pressing for people to come out for the ASHM in late June, so that is also a plus. This means he figures he won't get bombarded with tons of people wanting to know why the stock is running flat. It sounds like he knows it should be up more by then (not a ton, but up from what it is now). Confidence is key. He knows something that he can't say. We know he can't comment on Apple. Like I stated, and so did he, he can't tell you anything, and IMO, apple wouldn't tell him anyways. We also know he can't comment on govt contracts, as well as other things in the pipeline. But, it does sound like something may be coming up real soon and another good reason for the push with Visser. They are going to need to be making lots of something and shipping it out, and you need a company to do this, and there you go.
So on the bright side, future is looking bright. For those that have been here for many years, my hats off to you for continued patience. I really hope that patience will pay off within the next year or so.
I know right...that's pretty sad.
I don't think anyone of us on here made it on the call. If you did (and you know who you are), just do the facepalm thing and try to think before talking. Formulate a sentence.
I don't think Tom was actually coughing going "cough...sucker...cough".
I had a list of questions, but I had narrowed it down to only 2. Didn't get a chance, ugh.
Well, I was in the queue, but apparently me and 100s of others were also. So they didn't even get close to my questions. figures
ya, gotta love the hold music
I'm hoping to be able to ask some questions, but something tells me we may not get the chance. It may be just announcements and update. They may hold off on questions for the SH meeting late June
If they do ask questions, I will chime in with a few. To not hog everything, someone else can chime in and ask as well
I will ask the following:
Of the 4 companies that were sent prototypes, one was not impressed. What problems did they have with the product, and what if anything is LQMT doing to win that company back?
At the last conference call you quoted the cadence of global inquires to be on the decline... has this reversed or is the rate continuing to decline?
Also can you comment on the percentage of sales opportunities directly attributed to the current inquiry rate.
Here are others if someone wants to ask these:
1) status update on the railgun project? with the new DDG-1000 destroyer (equipped with railguns) being delivered by 2014, is production by then feasible?
2) as of right now what is the company's most promising industry going forward?
3) are you in serious talks with any potential NEW customers? Are we in the process of developing molds and/or prototypes for any prospective clients?
4) How does LiquidMetal market itself to potential customers?
5) How much of LiquidMetals assets are dedicated to Marketing?
added it to my list
excellent question, I will update and add to my list, thanks!
Possible questions to ask, if possible:
- are you able to elaborate on what parts were shipped earlier in the year?
- when do you expect additional orders for these parts?
- when can we expect better revenues and outlook on profits?
- are you able to elaborate as to why you feel the need for an additional 100mil shares? What will they be used for?
Those are just a few I have thrown out there. Feel free to say "no, don't ask that, that's stupid" or "no way they will even answer that question".
If you have something to add, please also let me know. Or if you're going to be on the call, chime on in with your question. Or post it on here for feedback and if it gets the go from the majority of us on this board, then we can have the person who posted it, ask that question
thanks in advance
thanks! I added that to my list. If anyone else has anything else, just let me know and I'll do my best to pose those questions during the call
I will be on the call and try to bust out some questions (if possible)
i will AVOID anything with Apple as I'm sure they won't tell us anything anyways
If anyone has some good questions to add, feel free to start a post with them and I'll take notes on them and try to chime in on the call if possible.
Ahh, ok then there's my answer on that.
Couldn't the extra shares being put out be used toward new staffing for production? meaning, they need to hire new people to start production of these pieces/parts, correct? Couldn't part of Visser's negotiations be that employees would get awarded shares as part of their package?
Or could it be other management and sales people that are hired to get product to other places?
I'm just putting ideas out there as to why the additional shares.
It could be for future investors. Could be they have something up their sleeve that they can't tell anyone (except for Visser) and have to wait due to NDA or other agreements.
This could also be why Visser came up with funding because he was allowed to see this information. making it an easier decision to invest his money right now. In order to get that final push towards the ultimate goal of revenues and future profits.
I've seen many cases where upper management can't tell anyone what is going on as it could cause conflict of interest issues, especially their own employees. Have to play by the rules and most of the times, that means SHs, employees, etc.
Of course, it could be the obvious, add more shares so they can cash out more for their own money.
EXACTLY. That is my thinking as well. He's not going to give it away. He's done his DD and knows this will be worth it in the long run. They've spent how long before coming with an agreement? That's right, because he knows what he wants and he knows it can get there. It's a win-win-win for everyone (win for him, win for us, and win for LQMT in the long run)
People who keep freaking out thinking it will tank tomorrow, makes no sense. Should hold strong or continue to go up.
let the fun begin. Just the start. Conf call tomorrow, then progress, revenues, more customers, more revenue, profits, etc.
keep on rockin
Well said, and totally agreed.
Keep on rolling, LQMT for the win Alex
This all depends. You a day trader trying to get rich quick, or someone that is looking for a long term investment.
If it's short, don't find a window, just get out and break even. I think it will go up a little bit and hold until Apple next week. Could break out more
If you're looking for long term, then don't pay attention to what it's going to do tomorrow. It won't matter because the big pay day won't be for another year or so. This is going to take a little bit of time to get running full steam.
good news is, we finally have a competent person to keep it on the straight and narrow.
Yes, exactly. I don't understand how people are getting all bent out of shape because he is getting a price of the .10 a share when he was brokering the deal when it was at the .12 to .19 range.
I have a feeling maybe LQMT was holding off on the deal as long as they could and were "hoping" that it was going to be used in the new iphone5 or something and then NOT have to worry about finalizing the deal with him. So they need to have a big investor and get something in, so they went forward with the deal.
Either way, in order to move forward, you need to make a sacrifice. I'm sorry, but if that means we let a person that can push this company back into the NASDAQ, and get the revenues and profits we need, and let him have the shares at the .10 price. Well, sounds like a good deal to me.
I'm guessing this will move the price up tomorrow close to .40. Why? Simple. You just signed a huge deal with a man that is NOT going to throw away that much money on a failed company. He's going to get it up and running, run a tight ship, get production going, then revenues, then profit. Do I expect it to go past .40? Probably not. Not till we have confirmation of production and revenues to show and support the growth.
Either way, you have to take a step back, to move 2 forward. In this case, we should be moving more than 2 steps forward with this deal.
just my 2 cents...or .33 rather
I don't expect it to fall at all. I expect to hold or go up a little bit on the news that we just got.
double exactly. He sees the long term with this company and will be rewared for his investment.
That being said, they needed someone to invest a large amount of money. In order to get someone to do it, you're not going to make them buy $2 million or more at the current price the stock is. No, you have to give them an incentive with their investment. Granted this was all worked out a long time ago when shares were much lower.
So if you're a huge investor with millions, you have to sit there and say "Ok, so its a risk to invest a few million into the company. What compensation will I get on my investment." and "what do you have to offer me for me to invest this money with you, as appose to someone else"
Called sweeten the deal, and they did that
in the long, it's a win-win. Visser gets all these stocks at a low price, LQMT gets the funding they need and production company to work with, and the next thing you know we are seeing the revenues that we need to see, along with continued production, etc
then the rest of us will win that in this for the long haul
Well, there's are news out
Guess not, but got no problem closing yesterday at .299 and closing today at .33. Should have been .35, but this is going in the right direction it needs to
would be interesting if there is any after market buys to help it to .34. People trying to get in before news breaks
Well, what I meant is, a similar story we saw this morning. Where it opened and kept climbing up until the .37 range.
I should have chose my words differently. Not just a gap jump. It would be nice, yes, but like you, I'm wanting the nice steady climb. Doesn't have to be huge, but as long as it climbs steady like it should, then we are all for that.
It should settle about .34 or .35. If news breaks like we are expecting, then it should keep on climbing with less resistance.
So, apologies for using the wrong term of "gap up". I should say "climb up"
Agreed. I'm thinking either right after close of the market, or right before market opens tomorrow. I'm leaning towards right before market opens tomorrow. This may gap up the share price, but who knows.
yeah, that's what I figured. But when you see the same idiots doing it all the time, then what's the point
Anyways, this is much better where we have moderators who can ban them and remove their moronic posts
I've learned to avoid yahoo boards. What a bunch of idiots over there. Nothing but hate and bashing. Heaven forbid if you try to share any positive information, or be positive about the stock. Only to get douche bags to turn around and bash your comment, who you are, and continue to trash it more.
Like I always say, if you don't like it, get the F out and quit your negative bashing. If you don't think it has a future, then WTF are you doing investing in it, or on the board anymore
Whether you want to be a pumper, or be positive, its better than being a negative idiot, bashing your own stock
Don't think Apple could do this, as it would be considered "inside trading". IF they are going to release something next week that will feature the liquid metal, then that's how it would be considered insider trading. Since they know before anyone else, they know they can buy it cheap and know it will blow up once they confirm something is featured with liquid metal.
It would be nice for them to invest more, but they may have to wait until AFTER they make an announcement. Or, just buy out the company altogether to make sure only they can use it for whatever they want. Not sure if they want to do that and be dealing with possible govt contracts, etc.
Already at 4.5 mil trading. Something has finally hit. We "should" end close .40 today, or at LEAST .35. Moving in the right direction.
If anything is confirmed next week, it will blow up. But if it doesn't, we should still be floating up. We may drop in the .30s again, but we all know that the most important is the revenues and future deals, financing, etc
So hopefully that news will pop today or tomorrow. Said it many times, apple stuff next week if confirmed is just icing on the cake
still holding strong, just wish people stop selling so damn low
No, he didn't say it was going to be used, but we already know it will be used. It may be something for the sim card, it could be the antenna, or something else. The big news was it was going to be used for the back. We all believe it may or may not. Either way, it will have liquid metal in it. The question is, how much will be used and where.
I also think its silly for apple to not use it more since it is newer technology and will be much stronger and better than what it uses.
Whether its the iphone5, ipad mini, or something new we didn't know about (e.g. the iTV stuff, or something). The earliest we can see any confirmation won't be until the conference next week (that is, IF they confirm anything at all)
The main intention in the video for investors is to let them know they've worked with the biggest companies like Apple. So investors know it has a bright future and worth investing. I agree with that statement
So, it appears this updated article is definitely pushing things away from liquid metal being used at all. No iphone, no ipad mini, etc.
http://www.idownloadblog.com/2012/06/04/ipad-mini-iphone-5-september/
They even put in another link in there that points to a previous article on May 2nd saying it's 5 years away.
I hate to say this, but if they don't get something this year (apple or not), don't think they may make it 5 years for apple to use it. I also don't think apple will wait 5 years to use it either. They want it cutting edge and next generation style, and something to separate them from everyone else. Well, this is the stuff to do it
all taken with grain of salt as so many are learning "yes" and many others leaning to "no".
Still waiting.
Hopefully we'll also get more additional before end of day Wednesday. That is most important
Excellent video, thanks for posting
Definitely throwing apple name around a few times. He is saying they are going to be doing future use together. He's not saying it will be in new iphone5 or mini ipad, but something in the future
So that being said, if nothing is used recently, it looks like they will be for future technology.
have to do more wait and see
Yes, I also agree. Apple news is great and may push stock price up. But this is not going to sustain the company for the future
They need to have the financing in place, or post news that they have sold contracts to abc company that will go towards revenues.
Also coming out with possible deals that they are working on and may close out this year (e.g. negotiations with xyz company with parts shipped should be signed). I doubt they will post that as it's not yet in writing. They could say a verbal agreement is done with the company for "x" amount for "y" number of years.
Either way, need the financing, revenues, and better out look for the future. Apple will be great for more exposure and open other doors, but this company needs the other news first.
