Joel Goldman announced that the Company has been approved HIPAA-certified for the submission of Medicare claims electronically and is a qualified vendor to several Medicare Third Party Processors including Noridian and WPS Medicare. Noridian Administrative Services' (NAS) jurisdiction as a Medicare carrier includes the following states: Alaska, Ariz., Colo., Hawaii, Iowa, N.D., Nev., Ore., S.D., Utah, Wash., and Wyo. WPS Medicare covers the states of Wis., Ill., Minn. and Mich.
Robin D. Moody, CEO of the Company stated, "Chiropractors in solo private practice account for 67 percent to 76 percent of all those in practice with the number of chiropractors growing faster than physicians. We believe we are well-positioned to seize a larger portion of this market in 2007."
CTTJ reported field tests and approval of HIPAA certifications. 01/10/07
"This is HIPAA's last stand, the final step for plans and providers to be in compliance with the mandates regarding security, code sets and correct data," says Scott Griesemer, vice president of information technology for Hollywood, FLA.-based Vista Health Plan. "We wanted to be prepared for May 23 both operationally as well as technologically with our provider networks, because this isn't just an IT concern—compliance also impacts operations, provider contracting and so forth. So it's not only the plan getting ready, it's our provider clients who we need to help get ready for this."
lil more on this vista company................
VISTA’S RESPONSE TO THE NATIONAL PROVIDER IDENTIFIER
The National Provider Identifier (NPI) is a unique 10-digit identification number for use in standard health care transactions. This identification number is a requirement under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and must be used by all Covered Entities (as defined under HIPAA) no later than May 23, 2007.
VISTA has every intention of complying with the deadlines established by the Department of Health and Human Services as they relate to the implementation of the NPI. Successful implementation of the NPI will require a coordinated effort between VISTA and providers that render services to our members.
VISTA will notify all of its contracted providers and other business partners when they can begin submitting their NPI on standard transactions. Click here to obtain more information regarding NPI registration and implementation from the website for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
