It does sound like a good compromise that will, hopefully, benefit shareholders. After having been burned by so many penny stocks (never been that good at picking), I can only wait and see if this stock will finally bring me back to black in my small portfolio. It has definitely been my gem so far. Go SYTE and new BOD. I do think the company still has lots of potential. I just hope the new BOD is committed to growth rather than sell off.
Why?
"The idea behind the special situations is that they can create positive gains in any market. Opportunities include corporate events such as mergers, spin-offs, break-ups, tender offers, wind-downs or other event-driven or arbitrage opportunities. I won’t discuss specific company names now (other than Tyco), as we’re building the positions, but I do want to give you an idea of what this category contains so you’ll have a better understanding of what I’m trying to accomplish with these holdings."

True. The company has been pretty stagnate as far as growth goes and non communicative with its shareholders. I think they have tried to just ignore this aspect of the company's business and concentrated on making a decent living for themselves. But I guarantee this other group is about breaking the company apart and selling it for a profit. And they could very well do it at our expense.
Thank you all for your comments. I was a bit surprised to discover that email, which obviously made me want to know what others were thinking. And I agree with giff. I've owned this stock for around the same amount of time and the company IS Frank Erhartic. Without him at the helm, there really isn't a Sitestar.
And having some unknown, with all indications is about nothing but profit, want to take over the business has nothing but red flags. If they gain control, I guarantee only they will benefit, not us small dogs.
I am still around. Just not too active with reading the boards anymore, so a bit out of the loop. Hey Panther, send me an email and let me know what's been going on.
Bush on the Constitution: 'It's just a goddamned piece of paper'
By DOUG THOMPSON
Dec 9, 2005, 07:53
Last month, Republican Congressional leaders filed into the Oval Office to meet with President George W. Bush and talk about renewing the controversial USA Patriot Act.
Several provisions of the act, passed in the shell shocked period immediately following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, caused enough anger that liberal groups like the American Civil Liberties Union had joined forces with prominent conservatives like Phyllis Schlafly and Bob Barr to oppose renewal.
GOP leaders told Bush that his hardcore push to renew the more onerous provisions of the act could further alienate conservatives still mad at the President from his botched attempt to nominate White House Counsel Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court.
“I don’t give a goddamn,” Bush retorted. “I’m the President and the Commander-in-Chief. Do it my way.”
“Mr. President,” one aide in the meeting said. “There is a valid case that the provisions in this law undermine the Constitution.”
“Stop throwing the Constitution in my face,” Bush screamed back. “It’s just a goddamned piece of paper!”
I’ve talked to three people present for the meeting that day and they all confirm that the President of the United States called the Constitution “a goddamned piece of paper.”
And, to the Bush Administration, the Constitution of the United States is little more than toilet paper stained from all the shit that this group of power-mad despots have dumped on the freedoms that “goddamned piece of paper” used to guarantee.
Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, while still White House counsel, wrote that the “Constitution is an outdated document.”
Put aside, for a moment, political affiliation or personal beliefs. It doesn’t matter if you are a Democrat, Republican or Independent. It doesn’t matter if you support the invasion or Iraq or not. Despite our differences, the Constitution has stood for two centuries as the defining document of our government, the final source to determine – in the end – if something is legal or right.
Every federal official – including the President – who takes an oath of office swears to “uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States."
Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia says he cringes when someone calls the Constitution a “living document.”
“"Oh, how I hate the phrase we have—a 'living document,’” Scalia says. “We now have a Constitution that means whatever we want it to mean. The Constitution is not a living organism, for Pete's sake.”
As a judge, Scalia says, “I don't have to prove that the Constitution is perfect; I just have to prove that it's better than anything else.”
President Bush has proposed seven amendments to the Constitution over the last five years, including a controversial amendment to define marriage as a “union between a man and woman.” Members of Congress have proposed some 11,000 amendments over the last decade, ranging from repeal of the right to bear arms to a Constitutional ban on abortion.
Scalia says the danger of tinkering with the Constitution comes from a loss of rights.
“We can take away rights just as we can grant new ones,” Scalia warns. “Don't think that it's a one-way street.”
And don’t buy the White House hype that the USA Patriot Act is a necessary tool to fight terrorism. It is a dangerous law that infringes on the rights of every American citizen and, as one brave aide told President Bush, something that undermines the Constitution of the United States.
But why should Bush care? After all, the Constitution is just “a goddamned piece of paper.”

Good point Gabe, keep on keeping on just as you are doing.
Gabe, as I have stated numerous times in the past; I really think the Telynex story would make the basis for a great book, either non-fiction or fiction. It has all the makings (drugs, sex, and the rock/rolling of heads) of a best seller.
(fiction would be best cuz you probably be better off changing the names)
Continued best wishes towards your struggles to raise your self out of the ashes of this past bonfire.
I can already visualize the movie deals it could generate.
LOL!
Maybe Eliaman can get a syndicate together.
Good post there Gabe. Glad to see your writings are finally having some continuity there. A clear sign of sobriety. Continued best wishes.
At the very least, judging by how much public communication to shareholders this company has been generating, moderating this board would definitely be more interesting. Depending on how much one likes soap operas, of course. :-P
I suppose if something ever happens with this company again, I'll probably volunteer to be moderator. At least I can see if I've ruined my reputation with Matt cuz I "associate" with you all.
But if we ever end up with some "true longs" here again; there could be a mutiny with me being moderator cuz some would probably complain about me associating with agitators. :-o
Of course, if I ever can get myself elected to the BOD; I'd then have to resign as the moderator.
E, perfect choice. I'll work on it.
Mataras is some sort of a software geek and has his own software company of sorts. I don't remember much details of his other activities, but his background has been posted somewhere. The one and only time I spoke with him via his cell phone number, he stated that he had "people" working on Telnyx's software to update and get it ready for marketing again. And that they were still in communication with HP regarding possible contracts.
TPK has inferred that the software has surveillance capabilities, btw. Which, according to his cryptic statements, is why the company has been subject to so much stock/financing manipulation by interests linked to Isreal and the middle east. :-/
Great movie plot, don't cha think? Has all the right ingredients: international intrigue, sex, drugs, and heads rocking and rolling. :-o
Richard Gere got wind of the potential movie deal here and found the part of DueDillenger to be right up his alley. I'm still working on getting Sean Connery to play nanuck. :-O I'm open to suggestions on whom to get to play your part.
Due, it was just a thought of mine. The whys and wherefores of how the "system" really works is beyond my immediate comprehension. And beyond my patience to even care to investigate. :-P
eliaman, the small print trades may also have something to do with how the mm and brokers are handling the mandatory stock certificate exchange. jmho

BTW, I completely agree:
Besides i like dialup because it is much more difficult to hack a dialup user than say a dsl user.
ah, that's not fair! PM me, too. I promise I'll really juice up your part in the movie.

From a high of 10 cents in April. The guy sure knows how to pick winners.)
Great news! That means the soap opera shall continue. :-P
I get the impression that Curt is paid in stock and sells into his pumps.
Our impression so far of Mataras and co. appears to be correct. (i.e. they really don't know what they are doing.) Isn't this what TPK was supposively doing for a while there? This probably mean in just a few more weeks, the SEC will be indicting EXX.
Thankyou Nan, that is the first logical explanation I've ever read regarding those strange trades people obsess over on level two.
eliaman, Have you contacted this guy to find out if the company is still going through with its plans for the physical transfer of certs?
If Mataras is as naive as he has appeared so far, I wonder just how legit this I.R. guy really is. :-/
Telynx has new ownership. The company closed its office in El Paso, Texas, and went through management and board changes in early 2004. Talieh Safadi and Paul Mataras, who briefly served as the corporate secretary of Telynx, reached a deal in March 2004 to acquire about 89% of the company for $10 in cash and the assumption of $4.8 million in debt and liabilities. The company (formerly Cambio) developed network management software for telecommunications companies and provided information technology (IT) services to other businesses, but has been dormant since early 2003. In 2004 Telynx acquired a 49% stake in Ice Castle Sports Arena, Inc. of New Jersey, a development-stage real estate company.

Where have I heard that name before?
The symbol for this security has changed.
This symbol change is due to a Reverse Split.
The new symbol for this security is TLYN

I saw that. Interesting.
I would think that PK would be REALLY interested. Having that amount of copper unloaded back into circulation would really screw up his time line in removing pennies from circulation.
LOL I heard about it and what an opportunity! Come on PK, this is your chance to get back into public attention and regain your PennyKing reputation. Make the guy an offer he can't refuse.
btw, I'm not THAT board.
If you're REALLY bored, try the CMKX thread.
I heard about it and really haven't the time to get caught up with another soap opera. I'm just having a problem with this plot line not having a proper conclusion. :-$
btw, Janice. Did you happen to notice that IFTA had a 900% gain yesterday on a volume of around 3,000? And the company is still in bk.
hmmmmmmm, TPK is MIA. Darn it; I need some entertainment!
I called Etrade today to see what was up. The R/S isn't even on the calender yet. What the heck is going on here?? :-P
Hey wait a minute!
I consider the cast of characters here pretty entertaining and worth the waste of time.
Dear PennyKing;
Money
It can buy a house
But not a home
It can buy a clock
But not time
It can buy you a position
But not respect
It can buy you a bed
But not sleep
It can buy you a book
But not knowledge
It can buy you medicine
But not health
It can buy you blood
But not life
So you see money isn't everything
And it often causes pain and suffering
I tell you this because I am your friend
And as your friend I want to
Take away your pain and suffering!!
So…
Send me all your money
And I will suffer for you!
Cash only please !!..!!
TPK and his opinion.

Mataras, Safadi and Ochoa are all in for a very big surprise.

Stay tuned and don't risk a penny on TLXX or you will get burned big time! Many people already have. The whole story is about to unfold... even if Donaldson and gang aren't paying much attention to the facts.

Cool! Can I have your autograph?
Hey, I was in IBD once. Front page story, too.
It is about time.
I saw that; a total of 800+ shares. (at least per Etrade) Duh. What I did not see is any ask or bid quotes. It has been like that for the week.
As far as I can tell; the stock is no longer being traded on the open market. Any thoughts are appreciated. tia
