Global Energy Development PLC, the Latin America focused petroleum exploitation, development and production company (LSE-AIM: "GED") is pleased to announce it has purchased and cancelled an aggregate principal amount of U.S.$1,742,000 of its 2006 Variable Coupon Convertible Notes Due 2012 (the "Notes"). The Notes were redeemed for cash, paid from the Company's existing cash resources, at the principal amount of the Notes together with accrued and unpaid interest.

Following the purchase and cancellation of this portion of the Notes, the remaining outstanding principal balance of the Notes is US$9,561,600, which is due and payable on 8 December 2012.

Steve Voss, Managing Director, commented, "As we close out 2011, we are pleased with our progress of shifting focus from our current production in the Llanos Basin of Colombia to the development of our assets in the Bocachico and Bolivar Contract Areas as we continue to take steps to strengthen our balance sheet by reducing our remaining convertible note obligations due in December 2012. Golden Cross

HKN's last two 'Golden Crosses', were followed by major Rallies. The first was early September 2009, and HKN increased from $2.40 to $3.90 (Up over 60%). The second was early June 2010, and HKN increased from $3.60 to $5.75 (Up 60% [again]).

The most recent 'Golden Cross' was late October ... and HKN was once again $3.60:

The difference between the last two Crosses, and this one ... is the lack of a Volume Spike. All three Crosses had numerous Green Volume days, with increased Volume ... but the last two had big Volume spikes, after the Cross. The one in September 2009 ... had two days above 70K. The one in June 2010 ... had numerous days above 100K. So far ... no Volume Spike?!?!

Does that mean this Rally is more sustainable; since no Technicians are playing the Cross (which they Sell when Momentum dies) ... or does it mean the Spike is still coming???

The other difference, between then and now ... this time a Short has already jumped in at $3.75 (I am 'assuming', based on Strong Resistance on a 1YR Chart [which has been broken]). So, when will he stop Capping HKN ... and what happens when he Covers?!?!

The Fundamental difference is the 'Rights Offer' ... some may Buy based on the Technicals, and Hold for the $2 Shares

Buying Today ... HKN would have to Sell for below $2.75, before I lose any money on this Offer ... and with the expected announcement of Increased Production and Revenue, GED's Tilodiran 4 & 5, the Technicals catching up to the Shorts, some Insiders Buying after the 10Q, and any positive news on BriteWater ... give me 'hope' my upside potential is much greater than $1 below today's Price!!!"

BriteWater's benefit is it is "scalable", so there is "no limit" to the Oil or Water it can handle ... and the OHSOL technology cleans the Oil, so these millions of Barrels retrieved are not just burned, causing Air Pollution, or land-filled, causing Aquifer Pollution. BriteWater/OHSOL, in theory, could help BP recover some of their Expenses in this clean-up?!?!

I would love to see this thing work ... to help the Gulf ... and since HKN will shortly Own 30.5% (based on the Loan guarantees ... 100% next year?)
