United States presidential election, November 4, 1952: Republican Dwight D. Eisenhower defeats Democrat Adlai Stevenson (correctly predicted by the UNIVAC computer).

In an effort to increase market share, the company joined with CBS to have UNIVAC I predict the result of the 1952 Presidential election. UNIVAC I predicted Ike Eisenhower would have a landslide victory over Adlai Stevenson who the pollsters favored. The result for UNIVAC I was a greater public awareness in computing technology.
