EQT reiterates its plan to form a board committee to evaluate options for addressing the sum-of-the-parts discount, with a decision expected by the end of Q1 2018.

EQT stockholders approved the merger with a preliminary tally of 84%, while Rice holders registered 74% approval; final tallies will be announced later, and the deal is expected to close on Monday.

EQT Corp. (EQT +0.9%) and Rice Energy (RICE +0.7%) say their shareholders have approved the merger of the two companies, finalizing a combination of two of the Marcellus Shale producers to create the largest natural gas producer in the U.S.

Rice Energy Inc. lost $274 million, or $2.06 per share, during the fourth quarter last year. That’s down from a net income of $104 million, or 76 cents per share, during the last three months of 2014.

Its full year income loss was $268 million, or $2.14 per share. In 2014, Rice reported a profit of $219 million, or $1.70 per share.

The Canonsburg oil and gas developer also announced its capital budget for 2016 on Wednesday afternoon. At $640 million, it’s a 14 percent decrease from 2015.

Rice Midstream Partners, a master limited partnership that operates pipelines and compression assets, announced a $150 million capital budget for the year, a 12 percent drop from last year.

Adjusted EBITDAX(1) of $132.2 million for the fourth quarter, a 51% increase above fourth quarter 2014. 151.56mil was the estimate I think

We always take it as a good sign when those responsible for a company–either senior management or the board of directors–buys stock in the company they manage. For us, it’s evidence of confidence in the direction of the company. “Eating your own dog food.” Such is the case with one of our favorite Marcellus/Utica drillers–Rice Energy. Rice is a young company led by three young brothers–Dan (CEO), Toby (President & COO) and Derek (EVP). Toby has just purchased 7,500 shares of Rice Energy for $99,750…

Hopefully this starts retracing back to $16. This is oversold regardless of oversupply. The resource is still needed by masses

As of December 31, 2014, it held approximately 86,000 net acres in the southwestern core of the Marcellus Shale, Pa., and approximately 55,000 net acres in the southeastern core of the Utica Shale located in Belmont County, Ohio.

Gulfport Energy (GPOR +2.7%) and Rice Energy (RICE -0.6%) announce plans to form a midstream joint venture to develop natural gas gathering and water services assets to support dry gas development in the Utica Shale in Ohio.

Plans call for a gathering system of 165 miles of high- and low-pressure pipelines with multiple interconnections to interstate pipelines, with first deliveries were scheduled for mid-2016.

GPOR will own 25% of the JV, with RICE owning the rest and being responsible for constructing and operating the assets.
