Harman is in the middle of a $8B Sale Transaction with Samsung Electronics that is offered at $112.00 per share. Of course there is a premium added to the market price so that the shareholders will accept the offer.
To say the value is overstated by 10% based on cash flow is redundantly Rediculous.

Perhaps “kicking the tires” should now be referred to as “poking the apps.” In a survey of drivers last year, McKinsey found that 37% would switch car brands for better access to software applications, data, and media. That’s up from 20% in 2014. In China, the world’s largest car market, the figure is 60%.

That helps explain why, last year, longtime shareholders of Harman International Industries (ticker: HAR), the market leader in infotainment systems, briefly saw paradise by the dashboard light. The stock topped $145,...

On the short side, Harman International Industries, Incorporated (HAR) formed a big wedge, came down and formed a little flag, down 81 cents to 72.84, or 1.1%, on 775,735 shares traded on Wednesday. This is an interesting chart. Targets are 66 1/2, followed by the low 60’s.

Harry has posted Charts of the Day video on HAR at TheTechTrader site noting: Harman International Industries, Incorporated (HAR) was down 32 cents to 73.65, on 691,120 shares traded on Tuesday. After I talked about this stocks for weeks, it had a 5-wave decline, a bear flag, another 5-wave decline, a rising bear wedge, and now it’s falling again. It stalled for a little bear coil. Look for a test of 67, and then a drop down into the high 50’s.

Good YTD, QTD and WTD, only the Friday profit taking is holding this stock from it's all time high.

The AMX acquisition plus the new product development will keep this stock moving up. The Balance Sheet is in good shape with not too much debt. The acquisition did not damage the liquidity required to grow the core business.

With the AMX acquisition things could be interesting. I didn't see it coming

although ever since AMX texas fiasco....imo....its been a down hill slope....again all imo......they are lagging in digital media and control systems

All their R&D to advance automotive audio systems has put them at the front of the industry. The Automotive OEM's are having a hard time keeping up with all the advancements. They have finally realized that it is the technology inside the car that differentiates their brand from the others.

Harman, Sierra Wireless start LTE infotainment road tests

HARMAN and Sierra Wireless are cooperating to make in-car infotainment systems connect faster with the world outside the vehicle.

Harman, a large audio and infotainment group, is teaming up with wireless module maker Sierra Wireless to speed up the use of the new, faster LTE -or 4G- mobile communication standard in cars. Road tests of production-ready infotainment systems using an LTE module will begin in Europe, with the US to follow.

Harman said test vehicles will use an infotainment platform with an AirPrime embedded wireless LTE module developed by Sierra Wireless. The two companies said LTE will mark a major mobile connectivity improvement that will make available a whole new range of in-car services.

Next-generation services will include off-board navigation, video-on-demand streaming, internet radio, dynamic loading apps, interactive online manuals and other telematics functions or new driver assistance features such as traffic light recognition, Harman said. All these applications will need higher bandwidth than is available today.

According to researchers Strategy Analytics, 95 pc of all vehicles will be equipped with connectivity solutions by 2012. That’s up from 70 pc in 2010.

Harman and Sierra Wireless started to work together a year ago. Harman was the first automotive tier 1 supplier to integrate Sierra Wireless AirPrime LTE modules in its systems. The modules allow data download speeds of up to 100 Mbps and uploads as fast as 50 Mbps on LTE networks.

Manfred Schedl, vice president connectivity of Harman’s infotainment division, said first prototypes of the company’s LTE-enabled infotainment systems show peak data rates of up to 70 Mbit/second and average speeds of 20 Mbit/s in urban conditions.

HARMAN International Industries today officially inaugurated its new Dandong Manufacturing Facility, part of HARMAN's second wave of investment plan representing additional $100 million to bolster manufacturing and research capabilities in China. In addition to customer representatives, officials from state, regional and local levels of government joined HARMAN executives for today's ceremony. HARMAN will use the facility as a manufacturing hub in the development of electronic components and audio systems for the world's leading automakers and professional audio customers.

Two manufacturing facilities will be housed within the 460,000 square feet facility, which was built specifically to meet HAR MAN's global audio quality standards. The automotive factory at Dandong will produce advanced audio components and systems to meet the increasing demand from not only western and Asian automakers but Chinese automakers as well. Harman will begin road tests through LTE-networked areas in Europe with similar tests in the United States to follow. Test vehicles will be equipped with the latest infotainment system platform technology integrating an AirPrime embedded wireless module developed by Sierra Wireless.

Next generation automobile services include off-board navigation, video-on-demand (VOD) streaming, Internet radio, dynamic loading apps, interactive online manuals and other telematics functions or new driver assistance features such as traffic light recognition. These bandwidth-rich applications require a reliable anytime, anywhere broadband data connection to offer leading automakers and their customers the ultimate on-road experience.

In anticipation of growing demand from automakers for 4G/LTE solutions, Harman started its collaboration with Sierra Wireless a year ago and announced support for the Sierra Wireless AirPrime embedded modules for LTE networks, with data download speeds of up to 100 Mbps, and uploads as high as 50 Mbps on LTE networks.

Consumers, the audio company says, want to control incoming content such as music, movies and navigation apps through their dashboard or steering-wheel controls. Harman, working with Sierra Wireless, is about to begin road tests of an integrated module in Europe; it said U.S. tests will follow. Test vehicles will be equipped with an infotainment system platform integrating an embedded wireless module developed by Sierra Wireless.

Harman said its agreement with Sierra Wireless allows it to offer data download speeds of up to 100 Mbps, and uploads as high as 50 Mbps on LTE networks. It quoted a company exec saying current prototypes deliver peak data rates up to 70 Mbps and average speeds of 20 Mbps in urban conditions, to support upcoming vehicle systems.

Harman is among many companies eyeing the growing market for in-vehicle mobile broadband applications — as Harman puts it, online services to the “always connected car.”

“As LTE continues to emerge as the next-generation broadband connection to the car, Harman and Sierra Wireless allow drivers to have a truly connected driving experience by giving them access to a vast array of web content and services right from the cloud,” the company stated.

In Harman’s view, the dashboard is becoming “a natural extension of both the office and the home,” though with an added focus on safety.
