lj: Cushing down and SPR up by approximately the same amount.
al44; Did U read the article I posted around 3:00 a.m. today about the crackpot who claims the money she acquired is due to White Privilege? PURE Marxist propaganda. What is especially unnerving about her book is that she attacks the GI Bill that enabled WWII veterans to get a college education. She claims it was racist in application.
The GI Bill gave us a generation of engineers that made America Great, especially the defense industry during the Cold War.
If we have a generation of people who think as she does, we are in big, big trouble.
Saving money is white privilege. Only white people can save money. Another product of a Marxist school system.

fuagf: "Senate Russia report proves Trump collusion was very real."
I won't be reading any more of YOUR posts. That is a sad statement.
lj: Matt Gaetz, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and a handful of other Republicans are trying to stop the insane spending. The House is full of Rhino rats.
lj: NVDA
Another good call by LJ! I am going to sit on the call unless the stock drops to $650 or less.
SMCI: Believe it or not, I never looked at this stock. Ignored all of the posts on Savvy Trades, ignored it when it crawled across the bottom of the screen on CNBC, ignored it period.
I also ignored MSTR, but finally saw the error of my ways.
Got an SMCI quote, and the price is too high, given the 52-week low.
AMD has potential, imo. But not for a huge move up.
MSTR up $130 or so the last time I checked. Don't think it will go ape anytime soon.
lj: MSTR By the way, my position is in red ink. Stock is up this morning, but not spectacularly.
On the geopolitical front, it seems that China has a foothold in the Maldives, probably having bought off a slew of politicians there. The new President is pro-China. Bad for our ally India, who went up against China in a border skirmish a few years ago. China used auditory weapons that I believe were used on our Cuban embassy staff. The U.S. Government covered that up and never found out who was responsible, do did find out who was responsible and covered THAT up.
Brent was down in early trading today. A correction is on the way?
BIG earnings week. Musk's comments on the path his company is taking should be interesting. Or not. JPMorgan has a low-end price target of something like $115.
I think it could go lower, but they don't pay me the big bucks, so I would go with JP Morgan's analyst's opinion!
fuagf: I don't think it is unfair to the Obamas. What is unfair is the persecution Trump is enduring in New York. Using the U.S. court system to smear and slander the opposition political candidate. The Russian and Chinese leaderships have nothing on the Obama Administration.
LJ: I am beginning to think that I will get an opportunity to buy in that NVDA $600 call.
Or, get an opportunity to roll it out to a $700 or higher. I am not going to take a loss. The numbers have to be right.
NYBob: The poor soul is crazier than a bed bug.
lj: I am aware. I see that her boyfriend continues to act like a clown. It is surprising that their romance has lasted. The Daily Mail no longer floods its pages with stories of her comings and goings.
ksquared: Hello. Today I am starting to think that the Democrats will run Michelle Obama, making her the nominee out of left field at the Democratic Convention. Stranger things have happened. The reason they will do that, I believe, is they need to swing African-American voters away from Trump. It is a foregone conclusion that Trump will get at least 10 percent of their votes, probably a lot more than that. Even 10 percent would be enough to swing the election to Trump.
If this is true, Trump has crossed a line and will lose a lot of support from his fellow Republicans. However, his campaign might have done this because RHINO's are using his name and image. We know that lots of members of the House of Representatives have campaigned as MAGA people, then go to Washington and become RHINO's on the first day they are there. However, I am thinking that this might not be the reason because the amount of the commission is only 5 percent. It might be an idea his campaign came up with to defray his legal costs, which are enormous. Regardless, it is unprecedented and makes him look like a crook, imo.

CNN left out one detail that the Daily Mail reported--this nut job who should be locked up for life is a trannie:

lj: Iran is in more danger of being wiped off the map than Israel. If they tried to destroy Israel, the U.S. would hit Iran with everything we have, which would bring big joy to the military industrial complex. I believe Israel literally would go nuclear on Iran.
Does the world really need Iran's oil supply, when Russia and the U.S. have incredible oil reserves?
lj: It seems that Israel hitting Iran's oil fields might be on the table, if you believe what talking heads on cable TV say. It seems that Netanyahu doesn't care what the Biden Administration thinks, so it might happen.
lj: Stocks that have bad earnings get hammered mercilessly in this market.
DD: If he fell asleep in court--so what? He does more in 1 day than Joe Biden does in a year. Your obsession with this is very, very sad. Typical of people who have Trump Derangement Syndrome. VERY hateful.
DD: Projecting your old boy's infirmities onto the greatest President since Lincoln?
All your side has is projecting your schemes, prejudices, and hatred onto the opposition.
r59: TSLA
I guess U would call it dead money for investors. For traders, there should be lots of opportunities for swing trades.
After today's performance, it would not surprise me to see the price of the stock below $100 a share.
Sounds like Elon has crossed the Rubicon with his robotaxi obsession.
The public has to accept driverless taxis.
Is Uber chomping at the bit to convert to self-driving vehicles?
Lots of variables and lots of obstacles. Hence, my thought that this is a stock for investors to avoid. JMO.
VTLE is one of my dumbest investments of all time.
al44: A scream! EOM
lj: MSTR
The current price might be a gift, but I'm not going to add to my position.
MSTR: Excellent call, LJ. Did I act on your advice? No. Now my positions have a loss. But the South will rise again. (Think Confdrederate money!)
Funny that "betcoin" is down when there is no hope for balancing the U.S. budget and the interest on the debt is getting beyond out-of-control.
SSKILLZ1: VTRS
I hear you. It is not unreasonable to think the stock could double in price if the stock gets a 7 multiple. And, if the yield on shorter-term Treasuries falls below Viartis' dividend yield, that could be a situation that would boost the stock price when money looks for a better yield.
lj: GRRR
All good information, but my head is harder than oak re buying more of this stock unless there is a significant drop in price. This is yet another of my get-back-to-even stocks.
SSKILLZ1: VTRS
A value stock and a growth stock. And you get paid to wait for the growth.
I received shares of Viartis from a spinoff by Pfizer, I believe. Since then I have added to my position.
TSLA: Talk about a falling knife. At some point there is going to be an excellent buying opportunity. However, I, personally, wouldn't buy until the next earnings report comes out.
Longer term, hybrids will be the dominant type of vehicle on the road. IMO, if you want to buy an EV, Tesla is the only way to go.
SSKILLZ1: VTRS is a nice "CD" to have in a portfolio, I guess.
lj: GRRR I have a $3K loss. I am not going to recover it by holding the shares ad infinitum.
Now, if the stock were to drift lower, say below $3 a share, I might average cost down (a/k/a throwing good money after bad).
Stating the obvious, the lower share count is great for the PE ratio.
Does this company have an AI plan? That is another issue.
On another note, sold some VTLE today before it goes back under water.
GRRR: reverse split today
How did we miss it? No chance of getting a nice profit from this investment. U own 3K shares and it goes up a couple of dollars, U have a nice profit. You own 300 shares and it goes up
a couple of dollars what do U have. Chump change, relatively speaking.
On a scale of 1 to 10, my interest in this company has dropped from about 8 to 1. Invariably, the price of the penny stocks of companies that do this drifts down after a reverse split. At least that is my observation.
If people were not interested at 80 cents, are they going to be interest at $5+. I think not.
We'll sell how many funds pick up shares. Hope I am wrong, but I don't think so. Experientia docet.
Australian stabbing update:

As I have been saying for at least a decade, one of the signs of decay in society is not institutionalizing the severely mentally ill, such as this schizoprenic. The libs started closing mental institutions in the U.S. in the 1970's. And anyone who dismisses this incident and moves on, rationalizing it happened because the poor guy was mentally ill, imo, is as sick as he was.
al44: Do U honestly believe Democratic precincts would not allow them to vote.
And, since you don't have to show ID, if they are registered to vote, they can vote--period.
Look people, we have to prepare ourselves for the likelihood that Biden will not be the Democratic Party's candidate. If they run Manchin, they might win. HOWEVER, Barack Obama would not be Manchin's controller.
That is exactly what Steve Bannon and his posse are doing. Mike Lindell is working is tail off to secure the next election from fraud.
My thought for the day: If we do not get an Amendment to the U.S. Constitution stating that only citizens can vote, then stick in the fork. We do not deserve to be a democratic republic,
And if a State like California does not pass the Amendment, then there should be another Amendment that would invalidate the votes of people in the the dissenting States.
This mess can be fixed.

If worse comes to worst, I'm moving to Texas. It has its own grid and vast natural resources.
It can become an independent country.
The first thing the President Paxton of Texas would do is close the border!
lj: I am an internal combustion engine person. I'd like all EV's BANNED! And I know just the President who might do that!
