BAC has outstanding fundamentals and is a very strong Company. Both revs and EPS increasing steadily, and are expected to be great in 3Q returns.
Share price is about 1.5 wherein ANY other in sector is 1.5- 1.6.
of 27 analysts 19 have a "strong buy" or "buy", remainder a "hold".
MANIPULATION is the ONLY explanation!

Really pathetic that this "manipulation" is ALLOWED!
Visit ANY of the 13 HFT exchanges and you will see it. Pre programmed algos keeping BAC Stock price in a "channel" therein ALLOWING the brokers and large block holders to make a fortune on the rebate,...which is .03 cents per share per trade regardless of trade direction.
Sadly BAC is still in the top 5 Stocks shorted on the NYSE! Lousy politicians love it and will not change it! They have thir funds with the very same institutions/brokers that do this shorting, go flat, buy, short, etc. Do the math on say a mere 100,000 shares.Now make that trade EITHER DIRECTION 10 times a day. 5 days per week.
Meanwhile retail investor still "hangin' on to the hind tada".
ONLY pressure from congress can change this!

Have owned and held BAC for over 25 years to include any and all buyouts, mergers and splits.

This Stock IS totally and completely under the control of algos,..make no mistake about it! A real money maker for HFT exchanges and the politicians who have their own funds there.

Beginning to think your are right in this matter.
No matter what news or whatever comes out BAC is a very poor performer.
The 3rd Q looks very good, so most all the gurus say "strong buy", "buy", and very few, like 2 have a "hold". At issue is not what they say but how this POS performs. Good CEO, lots of revs, earnings, but lousy PPS performance.Will hold a chunk to see what happens a month from now, but if same B/S performance then will exit this Stock. Obuma ruined BAC, and that was His intention. He hates the word "America". Stole over 70 BILLION from the shareholders!

Be advised the 31 "analysts" have a projected earnings report out that is a 31% increase yoy over 2017 for same 3rdQ. At issue is the algos controlling the Share price. Programmed selling, etc. BAC is easy to control due to such a cheap PPS!HFT exchanges are making a fortune, and so are the politicians who have their funds with brokers that use the HFT exchanges.
Only these same azzholes can change this, so do you really think they will.

Look everywhere and read the info. FTR is 'positioning" itself nicely. They have eliminated the PR (preferred) stock from a vote if and when a buyout or merger is to take place. With all the hacking and intercepts taking place it seem land lines are again becoming MUSH more popular than ever. Further, FTR has a "system" to eliminate same. Read about it.

Agreed. They just signed a huge contract in CA and the balance sheet looks very good right now. Go to their website and look at it. Management will make it better to position for a possible buyout or merger. Too much math to answer that here, but take the number of shares now and do a spread sheet. Dollar value and EPS of Company will be higher with preferred stock and divy from same now gone.

MU, Micron Tech is just that. A tech Stock. Sector also hot and cold. Has been as high as 42.+ and pays a .37 per Qtr divy. Not bad at all. Selling at about $37.+ but some highs and lows. Markets very volatile now, so stay close to any trade, or use a algo of course.
If you can, visit a HFT exchange and get a real eye opener. You are spot on with Your assessment that we are trading against algos on machines. Last visit to a HFT exchange and saw 8 traders in a trading room each with 6 big screen computers, with 6 windows on each screen. And all were hands off,..meaning the trades were pre-programmed.

Agree BAC is a big disappointment as are the financials, but with all fundamentals as good as they are we see this sector getting back where it should be once this "trade imbalance" concern goes away. This is one of the most manipulated Stocks on NYSE and for good reason. A cheap price for a strong stock is a recipe for shorting, then buying, shorting, buying, and on and on. You see , ANY block holder gets a .03 cent per share per trade regardless of direction of the trade.Then there is the spread to deal with.
A "market order" can really damage one's profit IF one make a market order.
Even in some instances a "limit order" can be manipulated a bit by a broker. In HFT trading the brokers sell the order to a HFT exchange, and do so faster than the eye can blink,..really. HFT exchange pays the broker the .03 cents per share, exchange makes a profit in the spread, and the retail trader gets screwed!Yes, a broker can and some do trade against their own client. Hope you do much DD on MU , however, good potential there, but always consider the "RTR" ratio. That is, risk to reward ratio.

Also, with PPS so cheap FTR is a prime "target" for a takeover, merger, etc. We expect the divy to be reduced somewhat. Probably the strategy from the getgo. Got rid of Preferred and it's divy, which equals a huge savings on the balance sheet. They are "positioning" nicely,...more on the table.

Very frustrating to see this Stock under perform in this sector.Yes, still one of the 6 most shorted Stocks on the NYSE! Not just this issue prevails, but the big block holders "manipulate" on any or all of the 13 HFT exchanges. No way to stop this "front running" as the politicians, who can control this unfair practice do in fact have their own funds with the big block holders!

See FTR as a possible takeover target, or merger down the road. They are expanding phone coverage in many states, and Stock is so cheap their competitors are drooling! JMHO, however, a number of Wall St. gurus think the same.

Agree to some extent, but keep in mind the "front running" at the HFT exchanges is also an issue keeping BAC in a channel. Also, look at the approved buyback,..like 20 .7 BILLION dollars worth. That will buy back about 900 MILLION shares!At the same PPS, and given the revenue as is you are looking at a 12-15% increase in EPS considering the buyback. The 25% divy increase is small, but at least it is an increase. Granted the BAC Stock is a poor performer, and sadly might stay here for a while.Cheap price makes it easy to manipulate for the rebate alone.
One can beat the divy elsewhere for about the same price, but BAC has "legs", so play it!

Company has reduced the divy that has been paid to FTRPR shareholders, increased common shares buy a 1/3 of those held by FTRPR. Actually puts this Company in a position so as to make it much easier for a buyout or takeover, etc.Better for Company in may respects. Cost reductions and more.

Agreed. Much DD done with BAC over the years, especially after the Obuma "robbery". He took 70 BILLION off the balance sheet! At the time we figured that at about 6.00 per share lost,...not including dividends!Of course He needed it to "buy" votes.

No logical reason for this Stock to decline any further as all fundamentals are very good and solid. EPS looks good, possible nice divy increase and buy backs continue.Not sure of this but some gurus are saying a strong divy increase forthcoming. Be nice and well deserved. Of 22 "analysts" 17 have a

Just saw this in Business Wire.
BAC flew thru "stress tests", and in line for a 2.64 EPS. Seems they think BAC will raise divy to .21 Per Qtr. soon. Still doing buyback, now down to a pultry(LOL) 10.1 Billion shares. Others in sector have about 1/3rd that much. So fellow longs, do the math when BAC gets down to say 5 Billion shares outstanding. Probably take 3 years or so, depending on BOD of course.

Last visit to a HFT exchange made it very clear BIG MONEY is making BIG MONEY!
In their trading room there were six professional traders, each on six screens "buying" trades from brokers and front running to make money on the spread. This in split second times!So sophisticated and rapid if one blinks some trades have been accomplished. BIG MONEY wins again! Retail trader who
may have placed the order probably gets a fill but loses anywhere from .03 to .12 cents unless it is a limit order.Even then, broker gets a rebate and exchange front runs to make a few pennies per share. Retail investor is O.K. in most cases but might have made perhaps a .05 premium per share if not for aforementioned. Just look at BAC,..a classic example.
Only way this gets leveled is the politicians in congress do it. And that will not happen as these "ilk" have their money with the brokers/funds that use the HFT exchanges.

A visit to any HFT exchange, and there are 13 will clearly demonstrate exactly that as described as "algos". Brokers, or any institutional trader, office, etc., can make a huge amount of $$$$$$ just using same to get the rebate from the HFT exchange. Won't happen anytime soon, although we all hope it will.
Reason: Way too many shares still outstanding. Like 10.1 Billion. Still doing well as to earnings, even with that many shares outstanding. Now imagine the same earnings with maybe 7.5 Billion shares. BAc IS buying back shares as we write, however, this many shares keeps the PPS low, so the traders trade the hell out of this Stock. Using HFT exchanges they short, buy, sell or short, buy and on and on. Whoever uses a HFT exchange gets.03 cents per share per trade, regardless of direction. This is why the PPS remains in a "channel,..like 29 -33. or close. It is a CASH COW for many who know how to trade this Stock. So do the math on a brokerage that owns say 3 Million shares, trades maybe 1/2 that every day.They will not ALLOW the PPS to spike for long, for obvious reasons.
