A New Standard in Weapons Detection

Patriot One Technologies, Inc. (TSX.V: PAT) (OTCQB: PTOTF) aims to address the spread of active violence through superior detection technology that instantly identifies concealed weapons.

Patriot One Technologies Inc. aims to directly address the very real and growing Active Threat phenomena which has become a significant force for shaping research in weapons detection. Since the 1970’s many parts of the world have experienced ongoing increases in acts of international terrorism, with increasing numbers of domestic Active Shooter incidents occurring with disturbing frequency. In response, Patriot One and a respected university led research team have developed the basis for portable devices and software solutions to assist military and civilian security personnel in the detection of concealed weapons. The technology, which is intended to be placed in key access points, utilizes radio wave emissions to safely target, identify and notify of concealed threat potential through software recognition of specific wavelength patterns. Click To View the Company Presentation Early warning is the key to effective deployment of timely countermeasures, and Patriot One is commercializing its PATSCAN™ CMR technology as an automated alert system capable of covertly screening moving individuals for on-body concealed weapons (handguns, knives, grenades, explosive vests, etc.).

Active Threat

The United States Department of Homeland Security defines the active shooter as “an individual actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people in a con?ned and populated area; in most cases, active shooters use firearms and there is no pattern or method to their selection of victims.”

Active Threat’s are a stark reality of law enforcement today, and we have very little to prepare and protect us from these individuals and groups. Most incidents occur at locations in which the killers find little impediment in pressing their attack. Locations are generally described as soft targets, that is, they carry limited security measures to protect members of the public. Why aren’t these locations protected? Cost and availability of effective technology are two main reasons.

Active Shooter events never end with acceptable outcomes. In most instances, shooters commit suicide, are shot by police, or surrender when confrontation with responding law enforcement becomes unavoidable. According to New York City Police Department (NYPD) statistics, 46 percent of active shooter incidents are ended through the application of force by police or security; 40 percent end in the shooter’s suicide, 14 percent of the time the shooter surrenders and, in less than 1 percent of cases, the violence ends with the attacker fleeing.

It is clear that once an Active Shooting event is underway nobody wins. The key is to short circuit the event through prevention technologies and security protocols.

The Solution

Current technology requires compliance on the part of the target subject. With a fixed installation at a secure facility, perimeter controls require costly operator manpower and can be circumvented during a dedicated assault. Individual screening with equipment that employs millimeter bandwidth scans are slow and prone to operator errors or false-positive results along with increasing privacy concerns. Expensive and slow, ongoing deployment of large fixed detection equipment will inevitably shift threats to “softer” less secure targets.

Patriot One offers covert threat detection technologies and solutions to extend security perimeters.

PATSCAN weapons detection solutions offers an unobtrusive, layered, multi-sensor method to threat detection. Our tactical approach hardens building approach, entry and interior facility security without creating a fortress-like environment for the general public.
