DEVELOPMENT AND PROPRIETARY RIGHTS
ZEOX holds a world-wide Technology License Agreement with the National Research Council of Canada for the rights to United States Patent 5,494,513, Canada Patent 2180483 and Mexico Patent 195989, for lightweight zeolite concrete products. In June 2007 the Company added to its intellectual property rights when it received worldwide license rights to globally commercialize, patents it helped develop related to zeolite-based lightweight concrete products for completion of production oil and gas wells from Halliburton Energy Services Inc.
ZEOX Corporation designs product development programs to produce zeolite product for a diverse group of customers in several industrial markets segments. ZEOX has patented and proprietary technologies and materials to service customers globally. ZEOX continues to increase its production capacity for specialty zeolites to meet the growing demand for its products, and global markets are being pursued for the Company’s product lines.
In Canada, ZEOX owns 49% of Nanostructured Minerals Corporation (NMC) which acquired the assets of the Palo, Saskatchewan sodium sulfate processing plant and mines in September 2007. ZEOX uses sodium sulfate as an accelerator in hydraulic cements and is developing new applications. The facilities at Palo, Saskatchewan are ideally located toprovide central distribution and warehousing, utilizing the acquired rail siding for distribution in Canada of the Company’s ZMM® products. Logician Minerals Limited of Hong Kong owns 51% of NMC since October, 2007. The Palo plant site is strategically located on Canadian National Railway to service large volumes of material to and from the Company’s mineral processing facilities in Arizona, Nevada and Montana. This facility includes 682 acres of land, mineral leases, buildings, plant equipment, and rail siding.
ZEOX also owns 59% of ZEOX Performance Materials LLC (ZPM). ZEOX has established a nanotechnology product development centre in Tucson, Arizona. ZPM develops and holds the exclusive, worldwide rights to various intellectual properties related to nanocomposite and surfactant engineering. The product development centre is equipped to produce commercial quantities of surfactants.
ZEOX Mineral Materials Corp. (“ZMMC”)
ZEOX delivers its zeolite products to markets from its wholly owned subsidiary ZEOX Mineral Materials Corp (“ZMMC”), headquarters in Tucson, Arizona.
ZEOX Mineral Material Corp. is focused on building production capacity based on its mineral deposits and processing facilities in Nevada, Arizona and Montana. The initial goal is to produce 180,000 tons annually of zeolites for commodity and specialty applications in environmental remediation, specialty lightweight zeolite concretes, building products, and catalytic applications. The Company has advanced its business plans over the past year by consolidating the following operations:
White Cliffs Facility
The White Cliffs diatomite mineral property and processing facility consists of mining claims consisting of approximately 3,100 acres situated in the Mammoth Mining District of Pinal County, Arizona, approximately sixty miles north east of Tucson, Arizona.
White Cliffs was acquired in October of 2006 and provides ZEOX Mineral Materials Corp. and its parent company ZEOX Corporation a production facility to produce and distribute ZMM® products for environmental remediation, building and construction products, water purification and nuclear waste remediation. All required permits have been secured for mining and processing operations. The micronized ZMM® products are distributed throughout the United States, Canada and internationally to produce micronized zeolite and diatomaceous earth.
The processing plant was refit and upgraded in November of 2007. In December of 2007 the plant received an NSF 60 certification that allows the production of the company’s catalysts for the use in water plants domestically and abroad.
Ash Meadows Facility
The Ash Meadows mining, processing and distribution facilities are located in the Armargosa Valley of Nyte Country, Nevada, approximately ninety miles northwest of Las Vegas. The processing and packaging facility are located on a nine acre site, adjacent to a major highway.
In 2007 ZEOX acquired Ash Meadows LLC. Ash Meadows mines, processes, distributes and sells zeolite products for environmental remediation, building and construction products, water purification, nuclear waste remediation and other specialty products. Current plant capacity is approximately 40,000 tons per year. The Ash Meadows zeolite is a high purity Clinoptilolite. Since acquiring Ash Meadows a Building Products Division has been added and specialty mineral additives and blended admixtures are being produced.
In December of 2007 the plant received an NSF 60 certification that allows the production of the company’s catalysts for the use in water plants domestically and internationally.
Butte, Montana is a key strategic location for the Company. From here Zeox can distribute large volumes of zeolite to the developing markets in the oil and gas, construction and environmental industries in both Canada, and the United States. The facilities link well with the Company’s zeolite, diatomite mines and production facilities in Arizona, Nevada, California and Saskatchewan.
In 2008, ZEOX Mineral Materials Corp purchased the Butte, Montana facility which includes a 44,000 square foot building with mineral processing equipment, laboratory and control center. The facilities are located on 8 acres of land serviced with a rail siding for delivery and shipping. The agreement also includes 26 acres of adjoining land for any expansion of operations. The goal is to supply up to 120,000 tons of zeolite products annually. The plant is currently being upgraded and is on schedule to begin in the second quarter of the 2008 processing operations plan. The initial shakedown of the unit operations is nearly complete.
