$ZENA BREAKING NEWS- As of July 10th, 2025, the New DOD Directive Paves a Pathway for Defense Contracts - The Defense Innovation Unit's (DIU) "Blue UAS Cleared List", which includes US-made and NDAA-compliant drones, will continue to serve as a key resource for procurement, according to Naval Technology. However, the new directive emphasizes a broader approach to drone acquisition beyond solely relying on this list.
In essence, the DoD is seeking to accelerate the adoption of drones by empowering lower-level commanders and simplifying procurement processes while still ensuring national security and prioritizing domestic production.
Read Below the added benefits:
*A new Department of Defense (DoD) directive, reported by Fox News on July 10, 2025, aims to accelerate the procurement and deployment of drones for military use.
*This directive, in response to White House Executive Order 14307, "Unleashing American Drone Dominance," grants more autonomy to frontline commanders (O-6 level: colonels and Navy captains) to acquire, operate, and adapt Group 1 and 2 drones based on mission needs.
*A key aspect of this policy is removing certain certification hurdles for drone procurement, aiming to streamline the process and expand opportunities for companies, particularly those building Group 1 and 2 systems.
*This means that commanders can now directly purchase and test drones, including 3D-printed prototypes and commercial-off-the-shelf systems, provided they meet national security criteria.
*The policy also encourages rapid innovation and fielding, mandates the establishment of dedicated drone units, and streamlines training.
*While this directive creates a pathway for quicker drone acquisition, it's important to note the continuing prohibition on purchasing drones from "American Security Drone Act-covered foreign entities" like those found on the Federal Acquisition Security Council's list, according to Acquisition.GOV.

$ZENA News: ZenaTech to Accelerate ZenaDrone Manufacturing for US Defense and Commercial Drones Following Recent One Big Beautiful Bill, Executive Orders, and Secretary of Defense Policy Directives
07/15/2025 - 08:00 AM
VANCOUVER, British Columbia, July 15, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ZenaTech, Inc. (Nasdaq: ZENA) (FSE: 49Q) (BMV: ZENA) ("ZenaTech"), a business technology solution provider specializing in AI (Artificial Intelligence) drones, Drone as a Service (DaaS), Enterprise SaaS, and Quantum Computing solutions, today announces it will accelerate expansion of its Phoenix Arizona-based facilities -- including tripling the square footage size -- to enable full US drone manufacturing, assembly and testing. This expansion comes earlier than expected due to the recent transformative US policy directives from the White House, the Department of Defense, and the recently passed ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’ that collectively have unlocked federal funding for domestic production, cut outdated certification and procurement barriers, and fast-tracked deployment directly to frontline units without requiring Blue or Green UAS (Unmanned Aerial System) certification.
These new directives make it dramatically easier and faster for American drone companies—especially those building Group 1 and 2 affordable drone systems—to sell directly to the military, scale production, and innovate without delays from traditional defense procurement bottlenecks. Together, they signal a clear national priority: build drones in America, field them fast, and outpace adversaries.
“These recent actions represent a historic turning point that gives us the confidence to start substantial facility expansion now,” said Shaun Passley, Ph.D., ZenaTech CEO. “By cutting red tape, opening funding channels, and fast-tracking field deployment for drones, they’ve created an unprecedented opportunity for us to sell directly to the US military at speed and scale. These reforms allow us to innovate faster and expand production to meet urgent defense needs without being held back by outdated certification and procurement hurdles.”
ZenaTech is currently seeking a new larger facility to enable US start-to-finish drone manufacturing and to house its existing Phoenix team of seven which it plans to grow to up to 30 over the next six to 12 months. This site is in addition to its existing operational manufacturing facility in Sharjah, UAE.
At the new facility, the company will produce its portfolio of defense and commercial drone offerings including:
The ZenaDrone1000, a medium-sized (12’x7’) VTOL (Vertical Takeoff and Landing) capable of lifting ~40?kg with AI-enabled autonomy, secure communications via its proprietary DroneNet system, and rugged construction. It is designed for BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) use, commercial inspections, and precision agriculture applications. Defense applications include ISR- inspection, surveillance, and reconnaissance applications, and the company has completed paid trials with both the US Air Force and Navy Reserve for critical field cargo delivery (e.g., blood). The company is also working on a gas-powered version for longer flight times for applications such as border patrol.
The IQ Square, a VTOL drone (starting size 40”×40”) engineered for line-of-sight land surveys, infrastructure and other outdoor inspections, as well as inspections and reconnaissance tasks for defense.
The IQ Nano, a compact indoor drone (starting size 20?×20?), built to operate in GPS-denied environments like warehouses or military infrastructure for inventory management and security applications, it features obstacle avoidance and can operate in AI-driven drone fleets.
Drone as a Service (DaaS) model is an offering that provides government, defense, and commercial users with fully managed drone operations, including ZenaDrone’s drone hardware, software, drone pilots, maintenance, data collection, and analytics, all bundled into a service-based subscription for flexibility and scalability.

$ZENA Breaking News: ZenaTech Reacts to ‘Unleashing U.S. Military Drone Dominance’ Memo — A Game-Changing Policy Directive for ZenaDrone
ZenaTech Inc.

ZENA +11.37%
ZenaTech Inc.
VANCOUVER, British Columbia, July 11, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ZenaTech, Inc. (Nasdaq: ZENA) (FSE: 49Q) (BMV: ZENA) ("ZenaTech"), a business technology solution provider specializing in AI (Artificial Intelligence) drones, Drone as a Service (DaaS), Enterprise SaaS, and Quantum Computing solutions, today reacts to the July 10, 2025 new policy directive from Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, ‘Unleashing U.S. Military Drone Dominance.’ ZenaTech confirms that under this policy directive, its entire portfolio of ZenaDrone drones qualify as Group 1–2 expendable assets and are now enabled for direct purchases by field commanders for both training and real-world missions, and they no longer need Green or Blue UAS (Unmanned Aerial System) certification.
The policy directive, in which he called drones “the biggest battlefield innovation in a generation,” mandates the rapid acquisition, deployment, and operational use of small, low-cost Group 1 and 2 drones. The directive now treats them as expendable commodities rather than durable assets, which the Company anticipates will streamline bureaucracy, encourage innovation including the use of prototypes and commercial off-the-shelf systems, to ensure the US military can outpace adversaries by rapidly scaling drone capabilities on the battlefield. This memo also marks a paradigm shift, placing battlefield acquisition authority in the hands of frontline commanders, not procurement offices.
“The new policy directive is a game-changer for our company and the entire small drone industry. By removing traditional UAS certification barriers for Group 1 and 2 drones, it empowers us to deliver our cutting-edge and affordable solutions directly to frontline operators, accelerating innovation and battlefield impact like never before,” said ZenaTech CEO Shaun Passley. “This means field commanders can buy our rugged, mission flexible drones directly for training, exercises, real-world missions, or even prototypes. We are now accelerating our manufacturing and defense business development efforts to meet the urgent demand and help the US military maintain its drone dominance.”
Key Implications:
Rapid Field Acquisition – ZenaDrone bypasses bureaucratic delays, available immediately to frontline units.
Prototype-Friendly Deployment – Early-stage versions can be purchased and tested in operational contexts.
Consumable Classification – Group 1 and 2 drones are now treated like expendable commodities rather than durable assets therefore inexpensive, replaceable, and low administrative burden.
Multi-Mission Utility – Ready for ISR (Inspection, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) missions, counter-drone roles, and more.
Timelines from the Memo:
By Sept 1: Each service branch to build “experimental formations” tailored to small UAS.
By end of FY 2026: All squads equipped with low-cost, expendable drones.
By 2027: Full integration of UAS into major training events across the Department of Defense.
The company’s portfolio of defense drone offerings include:
The ZenaDrone 1000, a medium-sized VTOL (Vertical Takeoff and Landing) capable of lifting ~40 kg with AI-enabled autonomy, secure communications via its proprietary DroneNet system, and rugged construction. Designed for ISR- inspection, surveillance, and reconnaissance applications, it has undergone paid trials with both the US Air Force and Navy Reserve for critical cargo delivery (e.g., blood).
The IQ Square, a VTOL drone (starting size 40”×40”) engineered for line-of-sight land surveys, infrastructure inspections, and defense reconnaissance tasks.
The IQ Nano, a compact indoor drone (starting size 20?×20?), built to operate in GPS-denied environments like warehouses or military infrastructure for inventory management and security applications, it features obstacle avoidance, and AI-driven drone swarms or fleets.
Drone as a Service (DaaS) offering will be tailored specifically for US defense and government agency use. The DaaS model accelerates government adoption by simplifying procurement and deployment, giving defense customers flexible, scalable, AI-powered drone solutions aligned with evolving mission needs.

$ZENA News: ZenaTech Creates First Quantum Computing Prototype Enabling Disruptive AI Drone Speed and Precision for Future Commercial and US Defense Applications
July 10, 2025 08:30 ET | Source: ZenaTech Inc.
VANCOUVER, British Columbia, July 10, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ZenaTech, Inc. (Nasdaq: ZENA) (FSE: 49Q) (BMV: ZENA) ("ZenaTech"), a business technology solution provider specializing in AI (Artificial Intelligence) drones, Drone as a Service (DaaS), Enterprise SaaS, and Quantum Computing solutions, today announces the successful development of its first quantum computing prototype consisting of a framework for the rapid analysis and processing of large datasets for its AI drone solutions. Using weather forecasting algorithms as part of its Clear Sky project as a test case, the company has created a precedent framework for real time analysis of massive amounts of data that can be captured through AI drone sensors while in the air.
The Company envisions commercial applications ranging from highly efficient precision agriculture to predictive energy infrastructure inspections. Defense applications include enhancing real-time battlefield decision-making with faster and more precise threat detection, reconnaissance, and advance electronic warfare capabilities.
“We’re not just building smarter drones, we’re building a quantum-intelligent edge where data becomes decisions in an instant, whether it's a battlefield or a farm field,” said Shaun Passley, Ph.D., ZenaTech CEO. “We believe this quantum framework we are creating is just the beginning as we’ve now demonstrated it can use it for large datasets. We plan to keep expanding R&D capabilities, with the goal of growing our team of 6 to 25 over the coming months. The end goal is clear: accelerate time to market, reduce operational costs, and lead the industry as a true innovator,” added Dr. Passley.
ZenaTech’s Clear Sky project is one of the company’s quantum computing R&D initiatives focused on weather forecasting that will use AI drones and drone fleets plus quantum to better predict localized weather for more accurate prediction of extreme weather events saving lives and reducing costs and destruction. The weather application and algorithms used for the prototype track and analyze multiple key atmospheric parameters such as temperature, humidity, wind, barometric pressure, and precipitation. Internal testing using historical open-source data has shown a high degree of accuracy with trusted weather platforms and actual data, validating both its accuracy and reliability.
Quantum computing combined with AI-powered drone applications enables disruptive speed, precision, and autonomy by dramatically accelerating data analysis, optimizing complex decisions, and enhancing real-time responsiveness. In commercial sectors, this means drones can autonomously inspect vast energy grids or farmland, instantly analyze multispectral data, and adjust actions on the fly—leading to lower costs and higher productivity in agriculture, logistics, and infrastructure. In defense, the same capabilities empower autonomous surveillance drones to process sensor data and identify threats in real time, coordinate swarm or drone fleet movements, and dynamically adapt to changing battlefield conditions—all with minimal human input. This fusion of technologies allows drones to make faster, smarter decisions in unpredictable, data-intensive environments—reshaping what's possible across industries.
For weather forecasting, quantum computing can rapidly process and simulate complex atmospheric models by analyzing massive datasets from AI-enabled drones equipped with weather sensors, LiDAR, and imaging systems. This allows for highly accurate, real-time weather forecasting and microclimate prediction, improving response times for disaster management, aviation safety, and environmental monitoring.
Quantum computing is a next-generation computing technology that uses the principles of quantum physics to process information exponentially faster than traditional computers, enabling it to solve highly complex problems that are otherwise unsolvable by even the most powerful classical computers of today.

COMPANY UPDATES:
$ZENA -Following the signing of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act on July 4, 2025, ZenaTech and its drone subsidiary ZenaDrone has announced it is well positioned to benefit from the bill’s key provisions.
The bill includes $33 billion in direct funding for advanced drones, autonomous systems, and US defense modernization — part of a broader $150+ billion in new defense spending, the largest in recent history.
The bill also restores critical incentives for innovation, including full R&D expensing under section 174 and 100% bonus depreciation through 2029, boosting capital efficiency for companies like ZenaTech.
“This legislation is a generational opportunity for US companies engaged in advanced defense manufacturing and drone innovation, and we view it as both a catalyst and confirmation of our long-term strategy,” said Dr. Shaun Passley, CEO of ZenaTech. “The bill unlocks substantial opportunities for us to partner with government and defense agencies, while also strengthening our financial position through R&D expensing and bonus depreciation. We are ready to be a leader in the next era of aerial intelligence and autonomy with secure American-made drone systems,” added Dr. Passley.

Zenadrone 1000, multifunction drone in flight
TORONTO, Oct. 17, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ZenaTech, Inc. (Nasdaq: ZENA) ("ZenaTech"), a technology company specializing in AI (Artificial Intelligence) drone solutions and enterprise SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) solutions, announces that its subsidiary, ZenaDrone, has begun the first US flight testing of the ZenaDrone 1000 drone including new hardware and software configurations in the desert near Phoenix, Arizona. The company has also been concurrently working towards expanding offices, operations, and partnerships in the state.
“After years of development work and recently achieving US FAA approval, it is gratifying to be able to conduct live test flights and further build our company base in Arizona. This is the first of many test flights and demonstrations that will help us refine and build the reliability of the ZenaDrone 1000 solutions for agriculture, defense, security, land surveying, and other applications where we see demand,” said CEO Shaun Passley, Ph.D.
One of the company’s longstanding collaboration partners is the Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA), the State of Arizona’s economic development organization.
“We are thrilled that ZenaDrone has further grown and strengthened its Arizona presence by choosing Arizona as its base of U.S. operations. And we are now delighted that they have chosen Arizona’s skies to begin live testing of the ZenaDrone 1000 product. We look forward to continued work with ZenaDrone to grow their business in Arizona and throughout the world, including via participation at international trade shows and on international trade missions,” said Kevin O’Shea, Senior Vice President of International Trade for the ACA.
ZenaTech recently announced that ZenaDrone was granted an exemption by the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) for visual line-of-sight commercial applications and data collection in the US, subject to specified conditions and limitations. This approval enables live testing and evaluation of the ZenaDrone 1000 product with US-based partners and potential customers. The company is also completing the FAA application process to receive an aerial spraying license (14 CFR Part 137) for agricultural plant nourishment, soil treatment, and pest control.
The ZenaDrone 1000 is an autonomous drone product designed for stable flight, maneuverability, heavy lift capabilities, incorporating innovative software technology, AI, sensors, and purpose-built attachments, along with compact and rugged hardware engineered for industrial use. It has been used on farms in Ireland to enable smart farming, plant tracking, and crop management, and it has been piloted in the field with the US military for delivery of temperature-controlled critical medical supplies.
