Windstream 1Q profit tops analyst estimates; revenue rises 4%
BOSTON (Thomson Financial) - Windstream Corp. Friday reported first-quarter
net income of $123.7 million, or 27 cents a share, including $1.6 million in
merger and integration expenses for a billing system conversion related to the
acquisition of CT Communications.
The mean estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Reuters was for earnings of
25 cents a share.
Revenue for the three months ended March 31 rose 4% to $811.7 million from
$783.7 million a year earlier. Wall Street analysts were, on average,
forecasting sales of $803.9 million.
Shares of the Little Rock, Ark.-based telecommunications services provider
closed Thursday at $12.41.
