More than likely this ship will have to be returned to dry dock for hull cleaning and recertification well before it’s next mission to enable the sale of more TMC shares.

That boat is unlikely to return to commerce any time soon, fyi

The drilling ship must be inspected in dry dock Twice every five (5) years, with not more than thirty six (36) months between examinations.

That ship has to go back to dry dock before they try and go harvesting for nodules next year.

Expect heavy dilution to pay for the dry dock inspection reclassification certification for insurance.

The boat is sitting, rusting away. It isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. I suspect the boat will have to go into dry dock and be inspected and refitted for its classifications. The possibility commercial use of that boat diminishes everyday it sits. Certainly if they intend for the boat to move through water under its own power, it will certainly need dry dock. One can assume correctly the thrusters and running gear to be completely covered in marine growth.

Actually it's older, same page shows owned by Petrobras in 2009. They would have purchased 10 or 12 years before and used for off shore oil exploration. Ship is 20 or more years old which is with ocean craft close to or at end of life.
Also they say they have 20 million in cash and another 25 in credit facility, but say they need 60 to 70 to submit application for permit next july. Of course they will also have payroll, insurance, maintenance, repairs, fees, fuel, legal, etc...

You don't have to convince me. A logical question: If we want to get away from petroleum/slave mining/destroying forests, and increase the world's electrification, why are so many nations and activist groups trying to stop ocean floor mining? Personally I think nations are trying to delay (i.e. Germany) simply in order to play "catch up" with players like TMC.

I'm a short term bear, long term optimist. We might just have to get through another painful worldwide financial crisis before this thing really takes off.
