GM, EZ. We both know who I'm rooting for but I don't take anything for granted.
Those southern teams always seem to best the northern schools.
I think they're still pissed off about losing the Civil War. Revenge play.
You never know. Go Blue.
P.S. You have (e)mail.
On the record, pulling for BLUE.....but, I still think those DAWGS the #1 seed for a reason.
But, that's WHY they play the games.....
good call on the playoffs. I think it
will be Michigan-Georgia on Jan 9th as much as I'd like to see
a Michigan-OSU rematch but who knows.
Thanks, EZ. We'll see what's what when the ESPN dust settles at 4:00 today.
The thought of playing the Buckpies again is disheartening.
I'm old. I can only sit through that game once a year.
Back to Purdue: I feel very sorry for their quarterback -- Aiden O'Connell. His brother died last week which explains why he was crying at the end of the Indiana game. That being said, O'Connell is 24. Why is a 24-year-old playing college football? The whole system is out of control thanks to a million TV channels with nothing to watch. Sigh.
I'm just glad FOX and DirecTV settled their differences so I could watch the game... which I did. Up way past my bedtime and I am completely disoriented this morning. (I owe you an email.) The sacrifices I make for my men in BLUE.
Hope all is well in God's Country.
I'll catch up with you later.
Looking forward….. what does the Magic 8 Ball say for playoffs?
Georgia
Michigan
TCU?
OSU ?????
Congrats on B10 Championship!
Hail to the Victors. 43-22 over Purdue
Go Blue !
LOL......... it's going to be a log day
of football.
with Utah beating USC last night there could
be an OSU-Michigan rematch and it will be settled on the field. Wouldn't that be something?
lol Just back from answering it. <g>
Been sending prayers and Good Luck messages to the Divine Miss Stuffie, too.
Here's to the Holidays. Ho ho ho.
UTE toot & U got mail !
Post value ~~~ GL Stuffero !!!!!
wow it almost happened. My great nephew and
his dad have season tickets. It would have been ugly.
I don't think it's in there anymore but when I went to Miami two HS classmates went to OSU and their dorm was under the stadium. I used to hitch hike from Oxford to Akron and back until my my mom found out and paid for the bus. Anyway my friend's dorm was in the stadium underneath the seats and I'd get off the bus in Columbus, cash in the rest of the ticket, see my friends and hitch hike to Oxford. The dorm was cool it's ceiling was the underside of the seats made of steel. I thought it was really old over 50 years ago, the stadium turned 100 years old this year. There was a whole different world under that stadium besides the dorms there were tennis courts, basketball courts, weight rooms, and who knows what!! I think the Michigan game was the 600th game plaid there.
Sports last weekend didn't really go well. Even though the Browns won, I've been rooting for Tom Brady for years.
It could have been worse.
You might have gone there.
If it's any consolation, the last two MI victories would have meant more if Urban Meyer had been coaching.
Oh, well.
We'll see what happens when Michigan plays Purdue.
You may wind up having the last laugh.
(I hope not.)
Stay healthy. It's only college football.
gee thanks........Obviously I hated it.
Thank you good friend!~
Me, the remote, sports, and the recliner,
do plan to enjoy it all!
(if I can stay awake)
Have a good one,
GOD BLESS

North Carolina vs. Indiana score, takeaways: Undefeated Hoosiers stay hot as Tar Heels' slide continues
Hoosiers forward Trayce Jackson-Davis notched a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds.
Indiana secured its fourth win over a ranked team under coach Mike Woodson and one its most important momentum-building moments Wednesday as the No. 10 Hoosiers downed No. 18 North Carolina 77-65 in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge finale. Indiana led for more than 37 minutes of play in the impressive showing, stifling UNC on defense and sending it packing to extend the preseason No. 1 Tar Heels' losing streak to three.
Defense was the catalyst that keyed Indiana to its biggest win of the young season. Against a UNC team that came in ranked 11th nationally in adjusted offensive efficiency, IU held the Tar Heels to 20 of 59 (34%) shooting from the floor and converted 17 points off 10 forced turnovers in the game to lift it past the finish line.
Senior star Trayce Jackson-Davis was big as per usual for Indiana, turning in a game-high 21 points, 10 rebounds and ndiana secured its fourth win over a ranked team under coach Mike Woodson and one its most important momentum-building moments Wednesday as the No. 10 Hoosiers downed No. 18 North Carolina 77-65 in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge finale. Senior backcourt partner Xavier Johnson added 20 points and 8 rebounds as Woodson went nine-deep into his bench to get nearly everyone involved in the action.
Wednesday night was the continuation of two quite opposite trajectories for both Indiana and for North Carolina, the latter of which has suffered three consecutive defeats dating back to its participation last week in the PK85. On the other hand, Indiana has now won its opening seven games, marking the first 7-0 start for the program since 2019-20.
Here are three takeaways from the game.
1. North Carolina has lost its swagger
It's hard to imagine, but less than eight months ago, the nucleus of this Carolina team -- missing only Brady Manek from its starting lineup for this year -- was playing Kansas in the NCAA championship having put together a magical March run. This team, as you might expect, garnered plenty of preseason buzz because of how it finished the season and who it brought back. This team, though, just has not clicked in the way it did to end last season. Its shot selection, particularly at the guard spots, has not been great; its shooting overall has been well below average, likely related to selection; and its stars have not been up to the task. It's not one thing that has derailed UNC's start to the season, but rather an accumulation of small things that have added up to make this team feel ... off. It was preseason No. 1 for a reason, and it has the goods to get back on track at some point, but its swagger has been stunted.
2. Indiana validating preseason hype
In what looked to be a wide-open Big Ten this season, Indiana earned love as the conference's preseason favorite in the media poll. And so far that seems like it was either spot on or really darn close to being spot on -- depending on what you think of Purdue or Illinois so far. A win over this version of North Carolina by no means signals Indiana has arrived, but it won in impressive fashion against a team that, while struggling, is still borderline top-25 caliber. This Hoosiers team is top-heavy and deep in a way that makes it on paper one of the true contenders in the Big Ten and beyond.
3. Jalen Hood-Schifino is a budding star
Trayce Jackson-Davis is a superstar who can carry Indiana regardless of the talent around him. You know senior Xavier Johnson is going to be steady. But Jalen Hood-Schifino's sudden arrival, if this is indeed prescriptive, can signal a different and more dangerous Indiana team may be bubbling. Hood-Schifino was a top-30 recruit coming out of high school, and he's already looking the part of a potential one-and-done with his length and smooth scoring ability. If his breakout against UNC is a sign of things to come, then he's a high-end luxury for a team that already had top-10 potential.

HIGH Stakes-For HOOSIERS, it's time to shine~
ESPN 9:20 PM
Bloomington IU vs NC
Welcome to Wednesday night's nationally televised Indiana basketball showcase, where ultra-hyped fans are asked to wear white, the chance to make a national statement remains in play, and No. 10/8 Indiana (6-0) hosts No. 18/15 North Carolina (5-2) in what reportedly will be the last Big Ten-ACC Challenge.
Jackson-Davis, IU's All-America senior forward, can't wait.
When the stage is higher, it makes me want to shine brighter," he says. "I live for big-time moments. This is huge for me and my teammates."
The Hoosiers have cracked the top-10 for the first time since the start of the 2016-17 season. The Tar Heels, last season's national runner-up, just lost their No. 1 ranking.
"We play with a chip on our shoulders," Jackson-Davis says. "We know we're one of the best teams in the country. We have to play like that or teams will bring it to us."
IU coach Mike Woodson is well aware of the stakes.
"North Carolina is a big-time team," he says, "this a big-time game, and we'll see what we're made of."
Losing a pair of tough, physical games to Iowa State and Alabama as part of last week's Phil Knight Invitational in Oregon dropped North Carolina in the AP and coaches' polls, but not in Woodson's appreciation for Tar Heel quality.
"They're battle tested," Woodson says. "They were in the (national) championship game last season. They know what it's like to have their backs to the wall. We're not taking this team lightly. They're well coached. They have a lot of talent. We have to commit ourselves for 40 minutes."
IU has done that so far, mostly impressively in the Nov. 18 victory at Xavier. It limits opponents to 59.3 points and 36.8% shooting. It's held four teams to less than 60 points. Offensively, it averages 88.8 points and shoots 55.9% from the field, 38.3% from beyond the arc.
"I like what we've done in these six games," Woodson says. "You do the best you can. You always learn something about your team. Wednesday is another challenge to see where we are."
North Carolina's defeats came after a series of less-than-dominant performances. The Tar Heels trailed Portland and Charleston deep into the second half, and struggled to put away Gardner-Webb and UNC Wilmington.
In Oregon, North Carolina lost in four overtimes to Alabama, and lost a late lead against Iowa State.
Still, the Tar Heels are formidable, from the quality of the current team to the rich tradition that includes six national championships.
"To be considered one of the best teams," Jackson-Davis says, "you have to beat the best teams.
"They were in the national championship game last year. They've dropped two games, but I know they'll be hungry. They will battle. We'll have to battle, too. We have to bring it. It will be electric."
Defense, 3-point shooting and allowing offensive rebounding have been Tar Heel problems, but given they have double-double threat Armando Bacot inside, standout guards Caleb Love and RJ Davis outside, and do-it-all-forward Pete Nance where needed, solutions should come sooner rather than later.
Bacot averages 16.7 points and 11.3 rebounds. He's also blocked 11 shots. Love averages a team-leading 20.0 points and 4.9 rebounds, plus has a team-high 24 assists. However, he only shoots 24.5% from 3-point range. Davis averages 15.7 points and 4.9 rebounds. He shoots 27.8% from beyond the arc. Nance, a Northwestern transfer, averages 11.9 points and 5.0 rebounds while shooting a team-leading 41.7% on 3-pointers. He has 10 blocks.
As a team, the Tar Heels shoot 30.8% from 3-point range. Opponents have 84 offensive rebounds to North Carolina's 76.
IU has an imposing frontcourt with Jackson-Davis (18.8 points, 8.0 rebounds), veteran forward Race Thompson (8.2, 5.2) and freshman forward Malik Reneau (10.7, 4.7).
"They have a big dinosaur coming down in Armando," guard Xavier Johnson says. "We have two or three big dinosaurs as well that are ready to compete at a high level."
Jackson-Davis and guard Trey Galloway are battling minor injuries that have sidelined them recently. They used the five-day break between games to rest.
"If they can't play, it's next man up," Woodson says. "That's the kind of team I've always wanted to have. Injuries occur. Everybody probably won't make it through the season. When guys get hurt, there's not a lot you can do. You can't wait on them. You have to push the guys who are ready."
Jackson-Davis says he's not "100%," but he's playing.
"Adrenaline will be flowing," he says. "I'll be fine. I'll play my hardest. They'll have to take me out on a stretcher."
Depth and fatigue could be factors. North Carolina coach Hubert Davis basically plays an eight-man rotation. Plus, jet lag could be in play given the Tar Heels flew from Oregon to Bloomington, arriving on Monday. The Hoosiers go 10 deep, and can play more if needed.
"We have two starting 5s," Jackson-Davis says. "We platoon. It will wear and tear on them. We can throw different bodies on different people. As that game goes along, that will be a huge part of it."
Adds Woodson: "They have five to six guys who play the bulk of the minutes. They are legit. They pose a threat. This is a solid team."
Sophomore guard Tamar Bates is a catalyst for IU's second unit, averaging 8.5 points off the bench with 12 assists against five turnovers.
"We understand that we're just as important as the first five," he says. "We come in with the mentality of executing whatever the game calls for. We understand the whole team is as strong as the bench, so us being on the scout and guys having to really worry about who comes in down to the ninth man, we just know that that just makes us even scarier."
If this is the last Big Ten-ACC Challenge (IU is 8-13 in the event, 5-4 at home), Woodson says he'll look for another quality non-conference opponent moving forward.
"My thing is, I'm always looking for competition. We've got enough of it this season to see where our team is."
As for possible future opponents, he adds, "We hope we get Kentucky. It doesn't get much bigger than that.
"We'll figure it out as we go along. I try to make our schedule as competitive as I can. We've done that, and if we can keep it going, that would be great. We'll find another big-time team and get a game scheduled."
That's for later. For now, for the Hoosiers, it comes down to this Jackson-Davis message, to Reneau, to freshman guard Jalen Hood-Schifino, and to all the Hoosiers:
"Play as hard as you can. If you do, I promise good things will happen."
Ditto, but that's not our decision to make.
Have a good one.
Mum's the word. <g>
I watched the Big Ten Football in 60 version of the PU-IU game.
PU is tall and gangly. Looks like they have a predominantly passing game.
You never know what's going to happen though.
I just hope MI walks out with another W as McCarthy would say.
Love that kid.
One word: GETYOURPHUCKINASSOUTOFHERE&NEVERRETURN !
Don't want to jinx ~~~ but, I don't believe Purdue even deserves to be there.....personally think 3-4 teams in that division who are more deserving !
Shhhhhh !!!
I'll email you in a bit. WTF is right.
You betcha! That looked like the Michigan football of my college days.
Love McCarthy. What an affable chap with a gentle positive attitude.
Michigan was there to have fun and play to win.
OSU spent the year and the season festering in hatred and seeking revenge.
Psychologically, they beat themselves in the second half.
That double foul (that included the sideline head butt), cost them 25 yards.
Just one example.
Loved Donovan Edwards with one hand in a cast making those two spectacular runs. lol
Damn fine performance.
Now... if only we can get past Purdue next Saturday.
You never know when it comes to Michigan
Go Blue!
OMG !!!!! Just catching up a bit and caught a few posts back/forth re: Flo !
I am in total S H O C K ~~~~ WTF !!!!!

Michigan routs Ohio State with surprising ease to remain unbeaten
By Associated Press November 26, 2022 4:41pm Updated
(I will say this would mean more if Urban Meyer were still the OSU coach.)
COLUMBUS, Ohio — J.J. McCarthy threw three touchdown passes and ran for a score, Donovan Edwards busted the game open with two long fourth-quarter TD runs and No. 3 Michigan beat No. 2 Ohio State 45-23 Saturday, taking down the Buckeyes with stunning ease for the second straight season.
Playing almost the whole game without injured star running back Blake Corum, Michigan (12-0, 9-0, No. 3 CFP) was still able to beat Ohio State (11-1, 8-1, No. 2 CFP) in Columbus for the first time since 2000.
The Wolverines advance to the Big Ten championship next Saturday, with hopes for a second straight playoff appearance firmly in their control. As for the Buckeyes, they’ll have to hope they can back into the CFP after again crumbling in their biggest game of the season.
Jim Harbaugh and Michigan snapped an eight-game losing streak against their fiercest rivals last year. Now they have a two-game winning streak in The Game for the first time in 22 years.
McCarthy, the second-year quarterback who won the starting job from incumbent Cade McNamara early in the season, played the game of his career when Michigan needed it most.
His previous longest pass completion was 42 yards, but against the Buckeyes he threw three touchdown passes of at least 45 yards, the most scoring passes of 45 or more in the history of the rivalry game.
He connected on scoring passes of 69 and 75 yards to Cornelius Johnson in the first half, then hooked up with Colston Loveland in the second half for 45 yards and the freshman tight end’s first career touchdown reception.
Then on third-and-10 on the Ohio State 13 early in the fourth quarter, McCarthy was on the run from Zach Harrison when he lofted a pass to the end zone toward Ronnie Bell, who drew a pass interference call on safety Ronnie Hickman.
That put the ball on the Ohio State 2, and three plays later the 19-year-old quarterback from suburban Chicago bowled over a tackler for another touchdown and a 31-20 Michigan lead.
The Buckeyes were forced to settle for a Noah Ruggles field goal to get the score to 31-23.
Edwards put the game away for Michigan.
Corum’s backup, who was playing with a heavily wrapped and an injured hand, raced through a hole in the right side and went 75 yards for a touchdown with 7:11 left.
After Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud was intercepted, Edwards was off again, pulling away for an 85-yard scoring run.
