Sparton Corporation (Sparton) provides electromechanical devices with capabilities that include concept development, industrial design, design and manufacturing engineering, production, distribution, and field service. It operates in three segments: Medical Device (Medical), Defense & Security Systems (DSS), and Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS). Its products and services include products for original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and emerging technology (ET) customers. These products are microprocessor-based systems, which include transducers, printed circuit boards and assemblies, sensors and electromechanical components, as well as development and design engineering services relating to these product sales. Sparton also develops and manufactures sonobuoys, an anti-submarine warfare (ASW) device. On August 6, 2010, the Company completed the acquisition of certain assets related to the contract manufacturing business of Delphi Medical Systems, LLC.
