News: $SWKS 2 Tech Stocks That Could Step on the Gas in 2020
The U.S.-China trade war has been a headwind for tech stocks in recent months. In particular, the addition of Huawei to the Commerce Department's Entity List -- which heavily restricted U.S. companies from doing business with the Chinese tech giant -- has cripple...

They used to be at around the same share price 5 years ago.

Trump signing bill to block Chinese companies to build 5G is a game changer for SWKS!!!! STRONG BUY $100 target!
Thursday/Friday should be nice. I expect a solid beat.
Curzio sure can pick those winners lol!
Do you realize SWKS is a real stock, not a crap penny? It's what I call a "big boy stock." $108 a share.
We delivered revenue of $985 million, up 18% year-over-year, and above our guidance. We expanded gross margin by 30 basis points, and operating margin by 150 basis points sequentially. We achieved earnings per share of $1.82, up 24% year-over-year, $0.07 ahead of consensus. For the full year, we generated revenues of $3.7 billion, up 11%, with earnings per share of $6.45, up 16% year-over-year. And we produced exceptional operating cash flow, $1.5 billion, up 34% from last year.

Another awful call! Are you EVER right? SWKS at $112.
Skyworks Solutions Falling Out Of The Sky
This morning, leading semiconductor stock, Skyworks Solutions Inc (NASDAQ:SWKS), is declining lower by over 4.0 percent to $102.96 a share. It seems that this equity is declining in sympathy to negative news on Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL). Today, there is a rumor that iPhone 8 sales are weak and all of the stocks that are part of the Apple ecosystem are falling lower in today's session. SWKS is now trading below its important 50 and 200-day moving averages. The next major daily chart support level for SWKS stock will be around the 200-day moving average which is at $99.87. Traders should note that SWKS is scheduled to report earnings on November 6, 2017.

Correction: "If you count dividends the S&P500 looks even worse. "
I meant the ^rcmp looks even worse. Few of its stocks pay dividends.
The NASDAQ-CM has done fabulously this past year or two, suggesting that money is moving into highly speculative stocks.
Unlike pennyland, you can track those stocks via the ^rcmp average. Since mid-2007 the S&P 500 is up 67% while the ^RCMP is actually down 18%. If you count dividends the S&P500 looks even worse.
Those lowest tier NASDAQ stocks should be avoided. From 2007 to the depths of the Great Recession those stocks were off immensely. And few pay dividends.
That average didn't exist during the dot com bubble period but many such stocks fell 90% in 2000-2002. Note that SWKs peaked over $70 in 2000 before falling to $3 in 2002.
This stuff can get ugly. But I'd argue that SWKS is a very different company now.
NASDAQ sort of sold out offering that entry listing, but there needs to be some in-between for the venture stage stocks.
Problem nowadays is most IHUB boards are silent, except for a handful for pumps or fad stocks that get most of the posting. No question IHUBers are drawn to the very worst stocks. Hard to top DRYS as an example of that, which also is an example of why I suggest avoiding NASDAQ stocks. NYSE has some rules that make it a safer venue than the NASDAQ.
I do think SWKS and some of the larger cap NASDAQ listings are fine, but the lowest NASDAQ tier (the NASDAQ-CM) has listings that aren't that much better than Pennyland.
Definitely agree with the silent board theory. I'm not finding much that appeals to me at the moment.
OTOH the fact that this board is utterly dead as SWKS soars is a positive sign. One of my very best stocks for years has been Cintas Corporation which was up 9% Friday on a huge beat, on top of a great year. I'm virtually the only IHUBer who ever posts on that stock. Compare that with DRYS which had about 6 reverse splits **in the past year.** Just about the worst stock EVER. And IHUBers are all over that POS shipping company.
Notice too that "my pal" Warren is doing well again. BRK is within a few cents of a record high,
I'm holding everything... including SWKS.
Skyworks is a good company, but I don't own it because they are using old technology (gallium arsenide) in their semiconductors.
A nice beat...
"Wireless chip vendor Skyworks Solutions (SWKS) this afternoon reported fiscal Q3 revenue and profit that topped analysts’ expectations, and beat with its outlook for this quarter as well, though its shares sagged in late trading. Revenue in the three months ended in June rose to $900.8 million, yielding EPS of $1.57. Analysts had been modeling $891 million and $1.52 per share. For the current quarter, the company sees revenue of $980 million and EPS of $1.75, which is ahead of consensus for $973 million and $1.73. CFO Kris Sennesael attributed the outlook to "our design win momentum and new product pipeline, and said the company expects to deliver "further gross and operating margin expansion." ... "
Been waiting for an opportunity to buy and here it is!
SWKS tracks AAPL fairly closely which isn't surprising. Their 12-month charts are nearly identical. SWKS has had a good month.
The "take down" and "bring back" of SWKS by Wall Street seems to be well-executed maneuver.
"What to Expect From Skyworks Solutions' Q2 Earnings"
"Skyworks Solutions (NASDAQ:SWKS) will look to extend its momentum when it releases its second-quarter fiscal 2017 results on April 27. Shares of the semiconductor specialist have risen over 30% this year, thanks to a terrific first-quarter performance back in January and a bright outlook driven by potential gains at its largest customer, Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL).
Here's what investors should expect from Skyworks' upcoming earnings."

Compared to the market then and now, probably needs to hit $130 to be equivalent.
SWKS all-time high was $109 in early May 2015.
Just topped 100... again!
Yes, Finnish, I think. Maybe a former Nokia investor. LOL!
From outside the U.S. for sure.
All I ask for is that $SWKS hit $100 just for 2 seconds. LOL. I just want to see it.
Personally I doubt anyone has a problem with your sentiments...I don't...
Happy trading bud!!!
Doubt any refer to themselves as "PMs." This sentence is a puzzle, a rather nauseating one: "Looks like I am the one to drink all beers from their pockets... "
I know...I trade penni junks on my account....of course pennies cannot be invested in; can only be traded.
We only invest clients' money in stocks of real companies; SWKS being one.
So what is wrong in making money in pennies if I can?? the market universe belongs to all..
I don't know why you are being interogative? or you want SWKS all to yourself?? LMAO..
Anyway, I review clients' profiles, assess their risk appetite, structure their portfolios ensuring proper asset mix, select securities buy/sell securities based on research analysts recommendations, have our compliance department assess me etc.. and that makes money for my clients...
Now, interview session over...can we talks stocks bud??
What mechanism did you use to communicate with "all fellow PMs?"
"Told all my fellow PMs while @$60 that SWKS will hit $100 but they didn't buy my forecasts.. "
Yes, the term "portfolio manager" implies that you professionally manage a portfolio of stocks for others. Portfolio managers don't normally have the penny junk you usually post about.
What do you mean my man?? what do PMs do? do you know?
In what way are you a "portfolio manager?"
Does it matter if it was above $100 before?....fact remains, I called $100 when it was $%60...What do want? Me to call you big boss? don't worry, big boss you are....
As a PM (LOL) you'd know that SWKS was well over $100 two years ago.
??? "drink all beers from their pockets..."
In what way are you a "Portfolio Manager?"
BTW, SWKS has been a respected stock for many years. It began as a spinoff of giant Rockwell International.
"Told all my fellow PMs while @$60 that SWKS will hit $100 but they didn't buy my forecasts"
SA: "Skyworks Solutions: Powerful Tailwinds"
"How Skyworks Makes Money
Skyworks is a diversified semiconductor company. However, this paints the business with too broad a brush. Without trying to get overly technical, I encourage interested readers to plow through this section for a bit more depth about the company's business.
Despite manufacturing many kinds of semiconductors, Skyworks' core business is focused upon smartphone solutions. These include analog RF (radio frequency) amplifiers, detectors, and filters. Skyworks generates much of its revenue through the manufacture and sale of these products to most of the world's foremost handset manufacturing companies."
