STEM Was the best performing stock pick today picked by SWICK984, to start the contest and the Best Top Pick was LWLG picked by STEVESCHIETS to start the contest. hope this helps.
Here's hoping that more contestants will take some time over the long holiday weekend to post the reasoning behind their picks!
Thank you to 2MorrowsGains and Rado who have already posted the thinking behind their picks.
I am not overly concerned about how I finish in these contests - I have always viewed them as "idea labs".
BTQQF Was the best performing stock pick today picked by MAKINEZMONEY, to start the contest and the Best Top Pick was SIF picked by SWICK984 to start the contest. hope this helps.
These are the reasons for my Pick10...
They can be described in one word.
WAGS. Wild ass guesses.
OK nsomniyak...Here goes...These are the reasons for my Pick10...
Well, a few of mine were just hole fillers so I already sold those 3 on the first day (NIC, CCSI, CICI).
One pick was $$, but was also used to fill a hole.
CLIMB = Top Pick. If you follow the SAVVY board, it is my top talked about stock these days. That along w/ CXDO. Both are well managed growing tech companies. Low/no debt, good cash on hand, strong growth with good profits, and very importantly, no unnecessary share dilution. Both are in the hunt for more accretive acquisitions while growing nicely organically.

CSPI...Nice balance sheet. Good profitable growth in their managed services division has been funding the launch of their ARIA PROTECT cybersecurity product. It's been a long road, so maybe, hopefully this next year shows the stronger #'s shareholders have been waiting for.
FTK...Balance sheet, profits and growth, speak for themselves. Should continue doing well even in a slightly down o&g market.
AESI & SD are 2 o&g companies in my pick10 that have the potential in inch up if o&g stabilizes. Both have stable/decent cash flow. SD has no debt.
Good luck everyone.
Re: JOBY...Very creative.😉
Ok, taking the nsomniyak challenge.
CNRD
We're probably at the beginning of a shipbuilding super-cycle according to some. Latest quarter annualized gives a p/e of ~5-6 from what I remember, and they'll probably have increasingly better numbers.
CRMD
Their sterile catheter solution that saves a relatively high percentage of lives. They are using tried and true technology with their own tweak that Europe has already approved and are the first movers in the US to get this. The hospitals will use it because they don't want to get sued in addition to saving lives. They are only approved for a certain type of catheterization, but other types will probably be approved with more FDA approved studies if they fund them.
ETCC
Low p/e. Big backlog. There are some concerns that they've bitten off more than they can chew with these large projects they are working on, but I think they will be ok.
GEO.TO
They rent out big drills for metals. Gold is really high causing more mining interest competition for the drills. They've been rapidly adding drills. They aren't trading for much more than their drills are worth. They moved to a better jurisdiction with their drills a couple years ago and now reaping the benefits. The CEO/founder might look to be acquired. I put it as a top pick because it seems safe to go up, but wouldn't be the biggest percentage gainer.
IDN
The best company in the identity validation business. They have data and capabilities that can't be duplicated. There is speculation that a deal with a company like Meta is imminent. And fraud is getting more and more sophisticated.
IMP.TO
Provides 3d mapping data satellite in 3d higher resolution. Own alot of data. Collect with airplanes with specific unique technique that gives them high resolution images. They own the data. Can use for fire insurance flood insurance, satellite launches. And they get paid money and get to keep the data. Have a big contract with Indonesia. Phillipines also.
But this is only for 10% of Indonesia. Have a good chance at getting 90% as well. If they do the 90% it will be at much larger margins because the overhead costs are big. CEO has purchased 50% of the company with his own money. Offering was without any warrants and was fully subscribed.
PYYX
They sell tobacco. Low p/e. Very low Price/Gross Profit ratio. Too much debt, but consistently growing revenue, and the EPS leverage is kicking in.
SNES
They make a natural cottonseed oil based rat birth control feed. This is good for big cities like New York with rat problems. They city doesn't want to leave poison everywhere and dead rats. Their solution keeps the rat population down, the people and pets safe. They have done pilots with big cities and have moved into the second phase meaning it's working. You have to keep reapplying baits to keep your rats under control keeps the revenues recurring. Not profitable yet, but should be if they can get a couple cities to use their product in earnest. My guess is this one would be the largest percentage gainer, but if they stub their toe it would fall the most.
"Municipal Deployment: SenesTech expanded Evolve deployments across major U.S. municipalities. In Chicago's Wicker Park and Bucktown districts, early adoption has been positive. New York City began a rat contraception pilot in April 2025 following City Council approval last fall. Additional municipal deployments are underway or planned in Boston, San Francisco, Baltimore, Los Angeles County, and Waukesha, Wisconsin."
TRBR.V
Really just a play for the next quarter. The next quarter should have extra revenue that didn't come in on time last quarter. They've hired very experienced employees. It will probaly continue to grow. I forgot this contest was a year long or would have picked something else.
WSTL
Cheap on price/book, price/sales, EV/Revenue, p/e. Big backlog in highest margin ISM that will last next 3 quarters.
ICU Was the best performing stock pick today picked by MICK, to start the contest and the Best Top Pick was OGD.TO picked by MAXLUKE1 to start the contest. hope this helps.
Here is the thinking behind my picks. Just quick thoughts, not a detailed analysis. A number of these have been long term holds for me where I have some optimism that this year could see the breakout. Hope everyone else will share the thinking behind their picks.
APLD - I think their Ellendale facility is going to bring huge returns. CRWV has taken a 15 year lease, NVDA is invested. Ellendale will be the showpiece for "NVDA AI datacenters", and I think we'll see some of those returns in the coming year. As an aside, I think APLD is miscast as a tech stock - it really is a property management company specializing in datacenters. In effect, it will become a "datacenter REIT" and in addition to the price rise I expect I believe it will spin off dividends well in excess of what I paid for my shares. Furthermore, I believe we will see many of the "traditional" REITs which were invested in commercial real estate (yuck) and shopping malls (yuck-er) die out and be replaced by "datacenter REITs". APLD is (by far) my largest real-life holding.
AQMS - I believe their battery recycling technology/facility will come online in the next year. Also offers a low entry price right now.
AUPH - I think they will got bought out. Of course, I have said that for 5 years, so what do I know? Anyway - this year is going to be THE year. Or it might be. AUPH features the worst CEO in biotech, but they have a good drug that will fetch a premium. Not anywhere close to what long-term shareholders were hoping for, but above today's $8 price.
JOBY - OK, I needed a tenth stock. I did a search and JOBY popped up. I included JOBY because my first name is Joe and my last name starts with a B. Get it? Then I actually did a little DD and, to my surprise, liked what I saw. JOBY is in the "air mobility" sector (like ACHR) and is developing electric vertical takeoff and landing eVTOL aircraft. They have made deliveries to the UAE/Dubai for test flights. Toyota has made a significant investment in JOBY.
LWLG - another long term hold of mine - probably too long. Another one where this year might just be THE year. While not mentioning LWLG by name, NVDA's CEO has spoken of the need for using polymers (right up LWLG's alley) to provide better performance and lower power consumption as AI datacenters are built out.
OPTT (top pick) - OPTT has transitioned from generating electricity from ocean waves to making drone/unmanned watercraft that have a wide array of military and commercial applications. OPTT trades around 50 cents, and therefore often makes big % daily moves - either way. In last year's contest OPTT was often cited as having made the biggest move up that day. SSK did not post the biggest losers but OPTT would have been on that list frequently as well. This is another big position for me. As an aside - while not relevant to this contest, OPTT does have monthly options which often offer pretty decent annualized returns. For example, OPTT closed today at .472, with the July .50 call options at .05 bid .10 ask, and the August .50 calls at .10-.15. Today I bought OPTT at .48 and wrote the August .50 calls for .11. That's a 23% return in 45 days assuming OPTT stays flat, and more if actually called.
PDYN - relatively small but growing AI company just added to the Russell 2000 and Russell 3000. Any stock that qualifies initially for BOTH Russel indexes is clearly growing its market cap very quickly relative to the rest of the market, as they have jumped (at least) 1000 companies in market cap rank over the last year! They have a relationship with RCAT for AI-enabled drones.
SLS - biotech company that seems a likely candidate for a buyout
SOUN - AI company focused on voice recognition applications. Think about a surgeon being able to get an expert synopsis of a rare situation on the fly, or, more prosaically, simply ordering fast food at a drive through without a human order taker. Also things like "real-time audio recognition into fire trucks, ambulances, and police vehicles". VW is a major investor in SOUN, and it is likely that VW will lead the charge related to In-Car Voice. Here's an article indicating the opportunity for In-Car Voice https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20250604581003/en/In-Car-Voice-Commerce-Could-Unlock-%2435B-Annually-for-Automakers-Research-Highlights-Strong-Consumer-Appetite
VTYX - another biotech buyout candidate. There are rumors that Lilly and/or Sanofi may be interested.
finally - here's an 11th stock that I wish I had included - CORZ. I think a buyout from CRWV makes too much sense for it not to happen. Prospective buyout prices range from $17 (today's price) to $40. There is a really good analysis of this on YouTube giving 15 reasons why this makes sense for CRWV. Don't have a link but I have a screenshot of the reasons and can post if anyone is interested. CRWV made a run at CORZ last year - this year they'll git 'er done.
I'd be happy to follow up on any of these. I look forward to seeing thumbnail sketches of other participants' picks!

Hope This Helps.
"Our houses are such unwieldy property that we are often imprisoned rather than housed in them." - Henry David Thoreau, Walden: Economy, 1854
He lived on Walden Pond for a year in a shack in Massachusetts. We still live in our first starter home we bought 30 years ago. I never wanted to buy a larger house and become 2 income whiners and become house poor.
Edit in next post
I should have copied my picks from the last contest.
Why not just swing for the fences with 10 exotic stocks ? You might get lucky.
I'll have to pass after finishing next to last in the last contest.
Picking 4 is hard enough for me.
The intro explains it.
But essentially this is an annual contest where you pick 10 stocks, make 1 of those your 10 as your top pick that one count as double of the others. You can sell a stock at anytime if you so desire, but there is no buying of stocks in this contest. so basically your 10 picks are your 10 picks. Outside of that for the stocks to qualify they have to be over .10 and trade 10k $ volume other than that those are the only two restrictions to whether any stock qualifies.
You post your picks here on this board, and your done. for more info read the intro. The deadline is Friday before the market close. Hope this helps.
Ummmmm.......... what is this all about ??
Contest ?
How do you enter and where ?
That's what it says.............
1) Pick 10 stocks, and declare one of them your top Pick, that pick will be weighted double compared to other picks, essentially it will be doubled down at the start of the contest.
we have 10 picks ?????
Wishing all that play some good luck. I can't come up with 10 stocks -or 9 if one is cash- that I even like right now.
