stm picking up steam now.
Next year is going to be an awesome year for stm
I know the feeling
If my money would hurry up and get transferred, I'm making a bigger buy than before.
JMO, then a slow accumulation from here isn’t a bad call. Will it go lower? Sure. Then buy more :)
thx good advise, I am without question long.
Me too. In cases like this, just standby. Best strategy. Unless you're going long, then a difference of a dollar or two is not that big a deal if you believe this will go much higher.
oh ok, I was wondering what happened
No worries here, the entire semi conductor market took a hit today, banks went up.
you are absolutely right , I misspoke before, I have my order in at 21.50 just so I dont miss this opportunity the good news is this is taking place before 4th quarter results IMO
Yep, and I'm at least a week away from a big transfer from my TSP account.
If it does bounce off $21, I expect another nice run to follow. Nothing to worry about. Just a healthy pull off IMO.
Those are fresh caught dungeness crab from a few miles west of the GG bridge. This is the season and they are awesome. Only caught on the west coast and up to part of Alaska.
Im sorry but I have to ask... what is your avatar picture??
Go $STM
gap looks like its going to close you will make a ton if you can get in when it does, this 4th quarter is going to break out imo, for what ever that worth
it may not bounce today as I thought but I dont think it will go very much below the 20, its made a heck of a run from 5 dollars and there has to be some profit taking. I am all in on the 2 stocks I have. anyone that doesnt think that the iot isnt the future has blindfolds on
I'm hoping to buy more as soon as my TSP transfer goes thru. About to double down on this baby!
New Automation Systems Can Be Smaller, Smooth, and Silent with Advanced Motion-Control Chip from STMicroelectronics
GlobeNewswire•November 27, 2017Comment
Highest-precision tiny motor driver brings finer motion control to laboratory automation, industrial robots, 3D printers, and other applications
High feature integration enhances reliability while low power consumption satisfies energy-efficiency demands
Geneva, November 27, 2017 - The fine motor skills of precision robots can become even more advanced using the latest electronic innovation from STMicroelectronics (STM.PA), a global semiconductor leader serving customers across the spectrum of electronics applications.
Sophisticated, space-saving advanced laboratory-automation systems are helping medical centers cut clinical costs and accelerate turnaround times - to provide high-quality care for more patients - while industrial robotics including 3D printing have greatly enhanced accuracy and throughput in recent years. 3D printers can produce parts with complex shapes, quickly and accurately, and are becoming more and more affordable, for consumer and professional uses from prototyping to production.
ST's STSPIN820 IC enables the next generations of stepper-motor-based robots to achieve even greater smoothness and silence, with smaller size, greater precision, and lower power consumption. With its high-speed inputs and precise micro-stepping algorithm, it can turn a motor by a fraction of a degree to move a 3D printer's head at a speed of more than 500mm/s, with submicron precision to create parts very quickly and with incredible surface finish, or control extremely precise movements like sample loading, capping/decapping, and storage/retrieval in next-generation clinical automation systems. Other motor-driven medical equipment such as plate handlers, fluid pumps, blood analyzers, and respirators can be quieter, more compact, and cost-effective.
Measuring just 4mm x 4mm, and containing both the control intelligence and fully protected power components (rated 45V and 500mohm RDS(ON)) for driving the motor, the chip is the world's smallest all-in-one high-precision controller. Manufacturers of automation equipment can simply place the device on the controller circuit board, with minimal extra parts needed to complete the system, to save space and enhance system reliability.
The STSPIN820 can help innovators in precision automation continue delivering improvements," said Domenico Arrigo, General Manager, Industrial and Power Conversion Division, STMicroelectronics. "Its high precision, small size, and low power consumption help simplify high-accuracy motion control for many other types of equipment, including textile and sewing machines, surveillance equipment, cash-handling machines, office and home automation, and point-of-sale (POS) terminals."
The STSPIN820 is in production now, packaged as a 4mm x 4mm QFN device, and available from $1.25 for orders of 1000 pieces.
The associated STSPIN board (X-NUCLEO-IHM14A1) will be showcased at the ST booth at SPS IPC Drives in Nuremberg, 28-30 November 2017.
Notes to Editors:
The STSPIN820 is a dedicated stepper-motor driver with 256-microstep resolution. It operates from a supply voltage between 7V and 45V, simplifying design-in for a wide range of applications. The maximum output RMS current of 1.5A gives designers flexibility to satisfy various power and torque requirements.
STSPIN820 delivers a superior combination of high performance and cost-effectiveness by leveraging ST's new proprietary Smart Power technology, which integrates motor-control logic featuring a high-precision micro-stepping algorithm with a low-RDS(ON) fully protected power stage in a single device. It provides familiar step-clock and direction-input pins thereby simplifying connection to a host processor or microcontroller.
In addition, a dedicated Standby pin allows the device to be put in low-power mode to minimize consumption in energy-conscious applications.
Over-current, over-temperature, and short-circuit protection are also built in, allowing the device to withstand harsh industrial environments, and further helping to reduce circuit complexity, component count, and bill-of-materials costs.

in the money on my last buy of 24.50 now all that is needed is left to the senate
4th quarter guidance up 18%
STM News: STMicroelectronics : Statement from STMicroelectronics, following Moody's upgrade to Baa3
Platform Security Architecture (PSA) from Arm enhances support for cost-effective state-of-the-art security in the IoT world
ST's Arm® Cortex®-M7 based STM32H7 series MCUs combine PSA principles with advanced security features and services
Yea, I figured as much :)
lol ! missed a zero it was 800,000 @ the ask
If you really want to see MM of a stock, you should see my other holding. Orders above the ask don't fill...etc...
Whoa, that's big money.
! wonder how many million the 800,00 share buy a couple weeks ago made yesterday, heavy volume for this stock. it must be nice to manipulate a stock
Only time will tell with established support levels. Usually, when there are huge gaps, they tend to want to close. So wouldn't be a surprise if it bounces off the gap at $21. Not always though. So basically, who knows? LOL
is this the bounce you are talking about
Wouldn’t be surprised if this bounces off $21 to close the gap before it starts another run. IMO
the market was not fond of the elections
anyone for 25 tomorrow ?
, came back nicely at the end of trading
some selling , but needed it had to happen to clear the way to 30 4th quarter
Lots of semi-conductor merger action, and apple dissatisfaction with their chip supplier. Attack on nvidia for market share.
Going to be interesting to see this play out and the effect on STM.
good show. excellent investment.
bought 100 more 24.50
Like a freight train this thing just keeps going, notice the day traders are no where to be found.
Easily a multi year investment here.
you go boy enjoy the sunshine
24.51 wow....really wish I could have bought more than 500 shares...but feeling lucky I have those at 20.08.
have a good weekend all....gonna try NOT to get stuck in Trump Traffic.
Aloha!
